HIGGINS LANDSCAPE SVC

In early September 2012, Brad Higgins came to my house and gave me an estimate to perform a significant landscaping job on my property. The job was to kill and till the weeds, put down soil, and lay sod on portions of my backyard. We agreed on the price and he told me he would contact me soon to set up a date for the job. I explained that I wanted to get the job done asap, but definitely before winter. I weeks and never heard back. After about 4 weeks, I started calling once a week to try to get a status. I would usually leave a message asking when the estimate was the job to be performed and asking for Brad to call me back. Occasionally a woman picked up the phone and I would ask the question about when the job would be performed and she would say that Brad was very busy and that he would call me back. I never got a call back from Brad. Months went by like this. I was always patient on the phone, always hoping that the call was just around the corner. Finally, in late March, when the weather started getting very warm making it more difficult for planting sod, I called again and said that I wanted a call back that day or I was going to put in a report to the BBB. I did get a call back that day from Brad, amazingly. Basically, Brad said that he wasn't going to do my job and that if I put in a complaint about him to the BBB he would sue me. So he left me hanging for 7 months, and wasn't even the least bit sorry about his behavior. There are so many good landscapers out there. Stay away from this guy.
