Excellent. Nice guy, and knew exactly what to do.

The handyman was proficient and able to complete all of the requested tasks except one in 5 hrs. I wanted to replace some siding on the back of the house, but they were unable to find the material. I prepaid 6 1/2 hrs. for $319 on Angie's List, and John Briley, the owner, did agree to credit me $73 for the 1 1/2 hrs. not worked after I asked for it. However, some of the charges seemed excessive, as they charged $200 to replace a 12" X 36" single window pane, and they charged $136 for a small amount of materials. There is also a $50 service charge just for showing up. It is not offset against the final bill when you have the work done, as most services would do. Also, this was not disclosed in their ad on Angie's List.

Havin accumulated several tasks to be done at my new townhouse, I purchased an Angie's LIst Big Deal Coupon from Handyman Matters of Houston. I called and arranged a date and time for a handyman to arrive and perform the tasks. When the first handyman was nearly an hour past due, I called the office and spoke to the lady there. She checked with the handyman assigned to my appointment, then called back and explained it had been necessary for him to return to a job from a previous day to complete it, as the work there had become unexpectedly drawn out. She offered to reschedule another handyman for the next day, I accepted the offer, and she said Pete, an experienced handyman, would take the appointment on the following day. Pete was very punctual, did the three tasks neatly and efficiently, and completed them all within the 2-hour windown specified on the coupon. Initially, I was very disappointed that an employee of an A-rated company on Angie's List would not telephone to let me know he could not keep the appointment we had made a week earlier. I can well understand that a job the previous day became unexpectedly complicated, and the handyman had to return there to complete that work. However, I believe he either should have called me or called his office and asked them to call me so I would not be sitting at home, waiting for a service person who was not going to show up that day. However, as anyone can make a mistake, I give Handyman Matters credit for doing their best to rectify this disappointing situation by scheduling a second handyman the following day, and I give Pete high marks for very professional, efficient work. Because Handyman Matters reacted immediately to solve the problem, I would use them again.

A angies deal was purchased for a handyman for a day. The day is considered 6 hours (including lunch?). The appointment was easy but I was notified the job would require 2 techs so the deal only applied for one tech and there would be a $50 trip charge and I needed to pay for the 2nd man in addition to handyman helper @ $45 an hour and he would leave as soon as he was not needed, I agreed that was fair. The handyman showed up on time but the helper did not. The work started, the tech in charge did not communicate that there were additional materials to be purchased to do the work @ $190, nor did anyone explain that if the handyman in charge worked overtime it would be at $75 an hour. The final invoice was reflecting the handyman helper was there 9.5 hours when I know he left after approx 6 hours. Horrible communication adds up to a surprised and frustrated customer. Hind sight tells me to next time have the company bid the work, not pay per hour..beware!

They offered fast, professional, courteous, and quality service and I will use them again!

I needed to have old heavy bedroom furniture disassembled in preparation for new furniture coming in. Also had house numbers installed and the old mattress hauled off. The experience could not have been better. I will definitely use again.

John was a complete professional. He was very careful with his big ladders. He made sure that the rugs were straight, and that the fringe was all going the right way. Excellent job!

The experience was great. He was very professional. He took pictures of everything to email us. He even came once after hours to check our stove when my husband was gone for no additional charge.

The service turned out fine. However, I feel I was considerably over charged. I was very disappointed with the price. The shelves look good and are holding up well.

Billy is unbelievable. He is an incredible handyman. He does meticulous work like he was doing his own home.

They sent two men and charged double the price I was expecting. I was not happy with that. I gave the company my credit card without a written estimate. I received the bill and it was double what I thought. In the future I will make sure to receive a written invoice prior to the billing. Generally, I am satisfied with their work. I have noticed they will try to do more work outside of just handyman and I have to watch out for that.

The experience was good. He was on time and they were very friendly. They took care of the work quickly. They even followed up with a ten percent coupon off my next project.

went well, except that I was afraid the poor old guy would have a heart attack (furniture was heavy). Other than that, the details are pretty boring (moved the love seat, moved the desk, moved the couch upstairs, which was the difficult one; I had to help with that one, but no big deal.).

We really like them. They are doing a good job, and we have been very happy with them.

I requested and waited for a return call to schedule a formal estimate but they never did call back.

This was my first experience with this company and went very well. The handyman was scheduled just a few days after I submitted an e-mail to the company. He arrived a few minutes early after calling to confirm the appointment and was very attentive when I showed him the jobs throughout the house. He worked very quickly --- obviously has had years of experience doing this type of work --- and cleaned up after the job. He got more done in one afternoon than I had expected. He also did not mind talking with me and giving me tips about how to fix minor issues myself in the future. I would definitely use this company again.

Scheduled for 9AM Sat, no call no show - so I have to call them. Oops, guy sick, tryin to get someone for PM. OK, 2:30PM have em call before comin. ~3 still no call. Call office, lv detailed msg re amount & type of materials needed. Hndymn finally calls 3:45 has no info. They lv, gone 1.25+ hrs just to get 5 bds, caulk, paint at Home Depot (couple miles farther away than Lowes which is very close by). Sloppy and slow takin off old siding, rip tarpaper, damage existing siding...finally finish present bill for 3 hours but say they have given me a 1-hr credit (but only here 3 hours total including extended shopping trip!!)); no receipt for materials, no nails, etc.

Awful. I will not work with this company again.

Everyone was very nice. The owner was quick to resolve a issue with billing. But the handyman they sent out wasn't really qualified, and it ended up costing me more money because he was new and didn't know what he was doing- but he was very nice! They didn't get to the chandelier, because they didn't bring the right equipment.

The work was OK. I don't like it that I talk to one person and then someone else is there to do the work and that person can not speak English. I would prefer the person that comes to look at the work do the work. I don't like to be pushed off on someone else especially when I can't communicate with the person that is left at my house. I still don't know how much this fiasco is going to cost.

I was truly grateful for this man's honesty with me, the cabinets didn't fit in and he wasn't afraid to say so even though it lost him money he could have made. I would call him back anytime and would recommend his services.

This is a rental unit that was turning over tenants and we needed someone very last minute to paint one bedroom and do touching up before carpet cleaners arrived later. This company had someone available on very short notice. He was on time and did a good job, but was not able to finish everything because he had another appointment. We were very happy with the work, though this was not the best job in the world.

Handyman did a great job, and he actually was a friend of ours. We feel he was professional, chose good quality paint, and he took about 2 -3 days for the work. We were quite pleased. The trim and windows were done well.

THE FIRST WORKMAN DID NOT DO ADEQUATE JOB. THE OWNER APOLOGIZED CAME OUT AND DID EXCELLENT JOB. GOOD EXPERIENCE.
