Update 12/21/14 Halligan Foam now has another "no reply" complaint on BBB, making 2 including mine. They now have an F rating, are no longer accredited by BBB, yet still advertise themselves as A+ accredited BBB members. Update 02/26/14 Halligan Foam came out in December with a 2nd contractor to flash in and replace the pitch shingle section that was sprayed over. I was not home, but the 2nd contractor called me, telling me that he was there with Halligan and could not install the flashing unless I OK'ed him replacing the whole backside of the pitch roof. He said water was coming in from above. I told him that it had to be waterlogging and soaking its way up from the botched foam job. I explained to him that he was working for Halligan and that I would not authorize him to do any additional work. When I got home, they had replaced the lower 3 rows of shingles, no foam repairs, and left the tarp off. Halligan did not call me to tell me if it was fixed or if he was just walking out. At that point, I gave up trying to work with him. The roof still has a minor leak. CAVEAT: If you go to Halligan Foam Coating's website, it still shows the BBB A+ accredited logo. Click on the logo. It will direct you to the BBB page, which shows they are now unaccredited and have a D- rating. Halligan never replied to BBB. I am now in the process of having his work repaired by another company. Update 11/29/13 There is nothing new to report, not good anyway. We're in a period of nice weather for a few days. If the pattern continues, Halligan Foam will not be available until the next bad weather, then call a rain delay, etc., etc. I am preparing for legal action next week, if nothing progresses. My complaint with BBB will also be 30 days old next week, and BBB shows the case as waiting for a response from Halligan, who has 30 days to respond. It's hard to believe that they're willing to jeopardize their A+ rating for such little remedy on their behalf. Right now, I'm still living under a tarp, and just received a complaint from the Walnut Bend HOA. I don't blame them! Happy Thanksgiving, Pete. Update 11/20/13 This is week 6 and the issue is still unresolved. My hopes went up 2 weeks ago when Mr. Halligan told me he was bringing over a 3rd party to work with him, but now there's a pattern where on good weather days, one party is not available, or when they are ready, the weather's bad. I'm still living with a tarp over my roof and a huge hole in my ceiling. The Passion Vine outside has started growing on the tarp ropes. I'm embarrassed to let people in my house. I really don't think that Halligan Roofing has been idle for 6 weeks. I tend to think they're out working on something else every day. Update 11/8/13 Restoration 911 came out on WED 11/6. I am waiting on their quote for mold treatment and ceiling replacement. As of 11/8/13, no one from Halligan has been here since they were paid in full on about 10/7. That was the day that they "completed" their work. I had to climb up on the 2nd story roof and tarp it myself this week, so water will flow over the transition. I was advised by Restoration 911 to cut out wet sheetrock from the dining room ceiling to minimize mold, which I have done. :( Update 11/4/13 After a BBB complaint, I was contacted by Mr. Halligan. He has arranged for a shingle roofer to replace the sprayed shingles. For the sheetrock damage, he said he'll send a check. No one from Halligan Foam has come to my house since their initial work, neither Mr. Halligan nor a lead man have ever personally looked at the workmanship, and my roof is still unprotected. I had to buy a tarp today, climb a 24' ladder and try to tie it down myself, but couldn't get it to stay flat long enough to cover the roof pitch due to the wind. Complaints still pending: 1. General workmanship; excessive ponding. Their warranty excludes material failure caused by excessive ponding, so in effect they are voiding their own warranty. 2. Mold prevention and treatment. I spoke with Mr. Halligan on 10/27 after several repeated attempts, voicemails and emails. I was told that they would be out the following week. When I mentioned that there were bad weather forecasts and asked what he could do to prevent further damage, he said he would take care of it. No one ever came by. 10/31/13 (first edit) It is going terribly as of 10/31/13. The SPF was applied on 10/3/13. A few days later after a heavy rain, I noticed a small trickle coming thru trim work on the second floor. I thought it might be a pipe and cut out some sheetrock. The leak was coming thru the roof sheathing. I contacted Pete Halligan first by email with photos, no reply. I called him after a second rain when the leaking was worse. He said he would be out that week, while we had nice weather, but didn't come out. We are now in a slew of rainy weather, and now the leaks have spread and have worked their way thru the framing to the first floor ceiling. The sheetrock in the dining room is buckling and the texture is collapsing. The epoxy coat on the floor is also damaged. Before the $4500, I had an old roof with one minor leak. Now I have a roof that leaks along a 25 ft line and a damaged dining room. Halligan Roofing has already acknowledged that the SPF was tied in to the pitch shingle roof incorrectly. Per Pete, the foam is not supposed to be sprayed over the shingles. I don't know if this happened because no one knowledgeable was on the roof supervising, or if they knew better and were trying to shortcut the process. Lapollo, the foam manufacturer, also notes this in their literature. There was supposed to be flashing installed between the shingles and foam to route the water over the foam. The shingles are buckling (like the literature warns), and the water is bring routed under the foam and into the house, in GALLONS. I think my repairs keep getting pushed back for new commercial jobs while my work is still incomplete, not to mention the damage that is occurring now. Communications are getting fewer and further between, and almost always initiated by me. I may need to bring in another contractor and then seek legal action.
