+ -1 moreI experienced problems with the remote control for one of my Hampton Bay fans. Only one of the buttons wouldn't work, but it was out of warranty. Hampton Bay referred mo to Gulf Coast Fans for a replacement. WhenI spoke with them they quoted me a price of $49.95 (39.95 for the part and 10 for shipping). That seemed awfully expensive for a fan that I only paid $160 for 9 years ago, so I deferrred the purchase. A short internet search found a new replacement available for $5.75 plus shipping for a total of $10.24. I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

Description of Work: We ordered 2 ceiling fans with lights and were quoted a price of $348 which included installation. When the fans were delivered they couldn't be installed because the prewired boxes were for a light not a fan. Gulf said they would return when we had the right boxes intalled. They put a $348 charge on our American Express card. We had an electrican install the right boxes. Gulf returned and installed the fans.Then they charged our credit card for $130. When we called, they said the $348 charge did not include installation. Had we known that the total price was going to be $478 we would have bought the fans from a different company. (PS. The electrician that installed the boxes would have charged us $45 to install the fans, but we thought we had already paid for the installation.)
