The refrigerator was delivered and had no instruction booklet. When I called, they said since it was a floor model it would not come with one and the salesperson should have given me one which he did not. They were not very polite about it - just ace ted like I should have known it. They told me they would either mail it to me or I could come by and get it. Since I live near there, I elected to stop by. When I stopped by the person at the service desk had no clue where the instruction book was and did not seem to want to look for it. He again reiterated I should have known a book didn't come with the floor model. Another person at the desk by the name of Michael stepped in as he could see my frustration. He looked up my refrigerator and found one for me quickly. I will not return.
Description of Work: The provided "sold" me a refrigerator want to Best Buy expecting to get a knowledgable salesperson. I told him my price range and what I wanted and he simply asked me what I had seen. I asked about a couple floor models that were on sale and why the differience in price. All he could say was that one got better reviews than the other but when i asked further quesitons as to why, he had no answer. was in a hurry so i ended up buying one of the floor models. In retrospect, I should have gone elsewhere.

I go there often. They have good quality merchandise and they are efficient. They are convenient to get to and have plenty of parking.

They cheat you, and they will over sell their product. They will create problems so you will continue to go back. They will not do what they said they were going to do. They will sell you services that they claim will do just about everything, and they don’t so anything. They are very rude. It’s a systemic problem throughout the Geek Squad. I will never do business with them again.

I had a horrible experience with Best Buy and the Geek Squad and I would not recommend using their services. First, I paid $100 for a consultation and Best Buy lost the information. They claimed to have retrieved it, but it was the wrong information for my home. I learned the information was incorrect when the Geek Squad finally found it and emailed it to me 2 weeks late. Second, the television they sold me did not work when it was installed at my house. I purchased an "open box item" that was guaranteed to be as good as new. Thus, it is clear they did not conduct sufficient tests to ensure the product was ready for resale. Third, when installing this faulty TV, the Geek Squad refused to ensure it was working properly. There clearly was a problem with it. They claimed to have fixed the problem by only waiting for it to work for a a few seconds before quickly leaving my house for their next appointment. They literally ran out of my house past other components they were were supposed to have installed as part of my system. Fourth, they completely mis-diagnosed the problem with the TV as a problem with the receiver. This caused me to make an unnecessary trip to Best Buy to get the receiver fixed. I was able to later determine the TV itself was the problem. Fifth, when I called to ask them to fix my television system, I had to be put on hold and waited indefinitely. When I finally had the opportunity to speak to someone, they required me to wait for two weeks for the next available appointment. Instead of waiting, I returned the TV on my own and purchased a new one from another vendor. Sixth, they improperly installed and calibrated my system. I had Bose speakers pre-installed in my house, and such speakers require a Bose subwoofer connection. Best Buy and the Geek Squad ignored this fact and insisted on selling me a non-Bose subwoofer. Regardless of the speakers used, each surround speaker must be calibrated individually by the automatic calibration system on the receiver. The Geek Squad only calibrated one speaker and failed to properly set the cross-over from high frequency to low frequency. I learned about their mistakes when I sat down to read the manual for the receiver while having to re-do the entire system on my own after returning the faulty television. Thus, the $300 - $400 I paid for home theatre setup was a complete waste. The attitutude, technical competence and service were among the worst I had ever experienced in any industry. Moreover, a comparision of prices for goods and services at other stores makes the name "Best Buy" an oxymoron.

First, the date is approximate (5/14/2009). The move went well. The only hitch is that I first tried to schedule the move through the Geek Squad's 1-800 number. When I called that number, they told me that the Geek Squad did not perform those services. Fortunately, I called the local number and spoke with a Sales Agent who helped me out. The Geek Squad called in advance (a little over an hour) and arrived with 3 vehicles. They saw the tv, lifted it, carried it to a van, and we were ready. The van was equipped so the tv remained upright, which is required for plasmas. They knew this without me saying anything. Very quick, painless, and very friendly.
Description of Work: Moved a 50" plasma television.

The people did come to deliver and install it on the date we made arrangements. While doing it, they couldn't get the water supply shut off. I live in a condominium complex and we don't have a valve per person. I had to get a plumber from the complex come out and do something about it. I just ended up having them install it.
Description of Work: I bought my dishwasher from here. I've purchased 2 TV's and a microwave there in the past.

The geek squad was extremely nice and very helpful. I also found them to be professional and fair.
Description of Work: Geek Squad came out to do a picture retrieval on my computer but was unsuccessful. They did however install a wireless router so I would not have to pay two high speed charges every month.
