Dwayne called at 9:00 a.m. to advise he would be here in 30 minutes. He arrived on time with William and met with my son to assess my problem to give a quote. They left for parts/supplies after telling us what was needed and that they would return by 2:00 p.m. Being considerate of our time gave my son an opportunity to do an errand. Dwayne and William returned at 1:30 p.m....30 minutes earlier. The job was finished at a good price and they left at 3:00 p.m. I am very pleased."

Price was fair, technician was helpful, very professional while they did the job.

ee My garage door started to act up today. I have a Wayne Dalton garage door which does not have exposed springs like 99% of the garage doors. Wayne Dalton uses a spring concealed in a tube above the door with airplane cables (about 1/4and quot; thick) on each end which wind around the ends of the tube in a grooved sprocket of sorts. In my case the cables on both ends lost their tension indicating that the hidden spring had probably broken. I usually save some of the coupons from the ValPak ones that come in the mail. I happened to have several from garage door repair shops. The one I called first was Jimmy's Garage Doors. The service guy who answered my call stated that only 1% of all homes have Wayne Dalton garage doors and they are very difficult if not impossible to fix. He proceeded to tell me was problem was compounded by the fact that the Wayne Dalton Company was out of business and parts would be impossible to find. However, he then stated he would send a repair man by to give me an estimate whether or not it could be fixed since it may be that the cables just lost tension. He said that an estimate would cost $ 59.00. Wait a minute - he just basically said he couldn't fix this brand. When I said and quot;no thanksand quot; to paying for an estimate, he immediately said he would reduce the charge to $ 29.00 and the cost of the estimate would be waived if his company did any repair work. Taking him at his word I figured that for a $ 29.00 starting point maybe I could get a feel for how much it would really cost to get my garage working properly again. I really thought that when the technician saw my problem he would say it couldn't be repaired and I would have to purchase another lift system for the door. I scheduled an appointment for between 3 and 6 pm that very day. Great service, so I thought. Hence the reason for giving a good reponsiveness grade. In the interim I went online and found that the Wayne Dalton Company was still alive and kicking about 30 miles from my house. I called them and described my situation and they immediately told me it was a spring problem and the total replacement cost would be $ 160.00. I immediately contracted with them to do the job in 2 days. Of course I called Jimmy's back and canceled them. Do not even attempt to use Jimmy's Garage Doors. They obviously resort to underhanded means of trying to obtain your business. No telling how they would have tried to rip me off on the price.
