They deserve to be sued and put out of business due to the hazards their garage doors cause across Houston . Our garage door fell on top of our car and our neighbors almost fell on top of their family including a small child. This is a frequent occurrence with all of their doors throughout communities . They continue to state that this is not their problem despite three doors falling off their tracks on our street alone. They are liars, they don’t show up on their appointment time, and they don’t even tell you when their appointment time is. We took multiple days off of work, they never showed. They used the excuse that the employees were sick and hospitalized and then when I’d respond with but I spoke to them 2 hours ago they’d stumble and say well we’re not sure. We were forced to use them when buying a new home however, if I could have the choice I would tell them to leave a garage door off the house and not pay for such a terrible and deadly service. For your safety, DO NOT use this company.

I’ve purchased multiple garage doors from this company and all of them have had problems. They charge you to come and service their shoddy work. Terrible.

GDS was able to answer our questions about the MyQ garage door automation. He didn't charge us for the maintenance (oils and adjustments, etc.), since we purchased the hub for the MyQ. There was some miscommunication about the hub in that he left it for us to install, but it was relatively easy to figure out, so we were still pleased with the service call.

There was a problem with my Garage door key pad and I told them specifically. It has been only 7 months in warranty. I had technician come and look at it. Now he says he doenst have enough key pad to fix it. The lady who answers the call is complete scratchy and never listens to customers. She can only talk and not listen. Also they do service only till 4 PM. Many people work and they have to take off from work to get this done. Now I have to take one more time off for this lazy goose work performed by this company. Never ever recommend this company and the front desk lady should be given worst rep of year award.

Not please at all. My home was built in 2008-2009. My garage door was installed at that time, and here is were my problem (unknown to me) all began. According to there records my door was installed then reinstalled due to the fact that they wrong garage door opener was installed. So GDS in installing and reinstalling the bracket drilled several holes in the stile of the door, making it, I believe weak and not capable of lasting or holding the weight of the door. On Sunday, September 11, 2016 the bracket of the garage door came off of the door, causing the door to come down at a rapid speed. My Husband called them to see if they would come and look at the door and the informed us that there was a 1yr warranty for work on the door and that they could send someone out with a service call fee of $95.00, not acceptable. So I spoke with them and first advised them that according to may warranty it did not state that the work of the install was only covered for one year.......basically this was my problem. So I asked how was I supposed to know that several holes had been drilled therefore making the stile week, hey said didn't know how I would know but it was not there problem. So basically I have to pay for bad install work of their tech. I even spoke with corporate and sent pictures of the stile, still my problem. I asked was I suppose to unscrew the bracket and then call them and tell them that their work was not good? Still my problem. Only thing I can say is that Josa King did her best but the VP John Wright does not cover the work of the company. I do not trust GDS because they leave you with not good work which I believe is very unsafe and not dependable, which their warranty says they stand by. If you are having a home built or need garage door service DON'T USE GARAGE DOOR SERVICE OF HOUSTON INC, they do bad work and they will make your garage door unsafe. unfortunately my pictures will not load. Just don't use Garage Door Service of Houston.

We were required to use this company to maintain the warranty on our garage doors since we were buying a newly built home. Within 6 months, one of our garage doors openers they installed quit working. No one ever showed up or called on the first two days we scheduled appointments. On the 3rd scheduled appointment day, they were supposed to come between 1-5pm. No call (even though they say the technician will call 30 minutes before arriving), the tech showed up at 7pm when we were in the middle of dinner. Of course, he didn't have the parts with him to fix it, so he said he would get back with us to schedule the appointment to do the actual repair. They called us with the schedule to come repair it, but again, no show or call. We called them to reschedule the repair appointment for today. My husband called at 9am to make sure we were on the schedule and was assured someone would be there by noon. It's 1pm and still no show or call. And I can't even go to another company because it will void the warranty on my garage doors. The whole set up they have with these builders is a complete racket, and they seemingly have no concern for the end user of their products. I would never ever recommend this company for any kind of garage door work. They have absolutely no service after the sale, nor can I find anyone in the company that remotely cares.

I would no longer work with this company, except they hold the warranty on the garage doors-new home construction. Their customer service is lousy. They never call back. I have had to call them everytime something was to be scheduled. They recently told me they no longer made the part needed to fix my door. How did they suddenly stop making it in the six months since the door was installed? Why is it the new house 3 doors down from me has the part being installed as we speak? When we had an issue with the opener failing, it wasn't covered under warranty and we were told it would cost us over $500. No one in the company can answer any of my questions. I have spoken to 5 different people about 1 issue. It is extremely frustrating. I even attempted to reach out to the manager listed on the contact form of their website, but my email was returned as no such address.

First I was given a noon-5 window which I feel is a very large window and the company should be able to plan their business in a more effective way as to minimize their windows. The technician had not arrived at 5 after I had taken time off to be at the house in the entirety of my time slot. I then attempted to call the company, and there message mentioned that there was no one in the office, and gave no mention of a service number I could call or how I could get into contact with the technician. I then assumed he wasn't coming and was about to leave the house when the technician showed up at 6:08, more than an hour out of a 5 hour time slot that I was given without a call or any indication that he was going to be late. The technician was able to fix the problem by banging on the various parts of the garage door with a hammer and spraying lubricant on the joints (and getting a considerable amount of lubricant on my finished garage walls). He also borrowed my ladder which I thought was odd, and stood on the very top which made me nervous and proved that he paid no consideration to safety. The job got done but I would not recommend this company. Note: I put the cost at $0.00 dollars because the company was contracted by my builder and I went through them so there was no charge to me.

BAD 1) First the call center is in Dallas so you will not know who will be coming until the day of the service call (if they show)2) The installer arrived with wrong parts and left without completing. Retunred unexpected two days later3) He failed to adjust the openers so they would not operate. It required multiple calls to the call center to get someone out that was supposed to know how the system was to be programmed. I basically had to do the trouble shooting for them.4) They by-passed a safety feature to make the units operate.5) They installed backup batteries. One was not secured properly and nearly fell from an elevated height in June6) Set screws where not secured so both doors lost thier range setting from couplings sliding.7) This month one operator stopped functioning. Service was scheduled and they called on the day they were supposed to arrive, 19 June to reschedule for 20th. I agreed and arranged to be home. They never showed and when I called the call center they said it had been canclled. This is a low quality outfit dispatching technicians not able to get the job done correctly in a timely and effecient manner.

The contractor was in and out quickly and reset everything. We've had no problems since, and the problems in the original construction were corrected. He was professional and explained the problem to us carefully. I would definitely use him again if we ever had any more problems.

Garage Door Service of Houston did a satisfactory job for me. I was able to get the door and opener at a great and fair price. I feel the installation really went smoothly. The guys came out and got everything taken care of very fast. They also explained how to use it and what to do in certain instances. I felt very good about the way they treated us and the garage has definitely been improved by their product and work.

BIRCH WAS ON TIME AND INSTALLED IT. IT HASN'T GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEMS.
