Fresh Lawn Mowing Service

They do an excellent job with our lawn and yard work. They work on the day your pick, mulch, mow, are reliable and reasonably priced. I will recommend them and use them, again.

POOR OVERALL SERVICE. They never managed to get it right. They would spend 3 minutes on the property and theN leave. After a few weeks the yard was patchy and overgrown. We repeatedly called explaining the situation and asked to come a fix the yard. They never did. On their last visit to the property, we decided to be present to explain the issue to the crew. Both of the crew members were EXTREMELY RUDE. They shouted at us and told us that they would give us $20 to for us to do the work ourselves. That was a scary moment. SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME.

They are based in Houston. They come out every week. I would not rate them excellent, but I would rate them good. They don't ever schedule a time. They don', like, trim around the fence very well, Everything else they do pretty well, except for that.

DO NOT USE! This company is horrible. We contacted them to weed our flower beds and cut back some plants. They didn't show the first two days they said they would. When they finally came they BUTCHERED our plants. They weeded the beds and left all of the 'weeds' and other debris in our yard. The yard looked completely trashed and all of our mature plants are destroyed. All they did was pull weeds - they didn't clean the beds at all - left stuff everywhere. We called to complain and they came back out but only picked up a few bits here and there - leaving most of the debris in our grass.

Used them for the 1st time, will not use them again. They did a half assed job mowing and especially edging! I told them I wanted it edged all around pool and landscaper rocks. Around the rocks were the worst also along the fence. Left big clipping in the yard. Not happy at all! I have pictures of what was done wrong but can't seem to find a place to post them. Also tried calling the service provider and got a voicemail, left message have yet to hear back from them!

I've been using them for about a year and a half. They're easy to deal with. My yard is kind of small. There isn't much of a backyard.

I started using Fresh Lawn this summer, they were to come on Thursdays. Sometimes it was Thursday sometimes Friday, or Saturday. My main complaint is the total lack of respect for my property. They totally destroyed 5 of my small Oleandes and damaged several other plants by stepping on them. They also did damage to the corners of my house, even knocking of pieces of siding trim, all this was done with a weedeater. When I brought it to their attention, even sending pictures, nothing was done, not even a response of sorry. One fellow said he was sorry and he would repair the trim but he never did.

I was worried, because I checked their rating with the BBB AFTER I made the first appointment, and it was not good. But I had a good experience, so I called again when I needed service. They were able to get me in for next-day service each time I called. The first time a married couple with regular lawn equipment came. They worked hard and did a great job. The next time, an entire crew came out with the bigger equipment, and they were great as well. I have no complaints, and I will call them again when we need service. I think the price was very fair. It was more for the first service, but the price went down for the second service.

They didn't use a bag when mowing and grass was all over my newly placed black mulch. Once the grass dried and died it left my mulch looking old and unkempt. Other than that the front yard looked good. The back yard was a mess. Streaks of grass that wasn't mowed, rows of grass clippings across the lawn and along the fence line. They didn't even blow the grass off of the fence railings. Edging wasn't done at all and they left the gate open. I called the office and spoke with Alexa. She requested that I send her photos and she scheduled a remow for the next day. They called me that next day and said due to a possibility of rain they would reschedule for Friday. I got home at 4pm Friday and saw that it wasn't yet done so at 5 pm I called the office to make sure they were coming out. The lady who answered the phone said they didn't make it yet but were scheduled for that day and as long as the sun was out they would continue working. They never made it. Saturday morning I called and spoke with Alexa. She said they had me marked as completed and would call me back. By Saturday afternoon I hadn't heard anything and called the office back. Alexa said the best they could do was come out Monday. By that time I had it with them. You would think if you blundered a potential new clients yard you'd be clamoring to make it right. I told her thanks but no thanks, that I was done and to forget about it. Alexa then said "Your only complaint is that there was grass clippings and some edging, right?" Heh, that was the nail in the coffin. If my "only complaint" is that they didn't do the job I hired them to do then there is nothing more to be said. I said I was going to leave my reviews and move on. At that Alexa then offered me half off on the next service. Not even worth it. I only wish I had looked on Yelp or BBB. They have a horrible rating, I don't know how they are still in business.

I’ve had a number of issues with the company. Their service, I believe, goes out and hires local crews so there is no one managing them. There is a disconnect between the company and the crew so what they say they’ll do doesn’t always happen. I pay $70 for a half an acre. I do appreciate the fact that they have an online presence. They have an online billing system so I don’t; have to deal with the crews regarding payment.

The first few times they came out, they did exactly what they were suppose to and did a great job. On about the sixth time they came out, they shaved our grass making it die. After revving it ourselves, we decided to give them another chance. From the sixth visit to the eleventh visit they did a great job. On the twelveth visit things when south again, as they shaved the grass for the second time and didn't complete all of the work stated in the contract. After this visit my mom called and spoke to the women in the office who were absolutely rude and awful. One of the women said to my mom, "why don't you cut your own grass." We will definitely not be using their services anymore.

******Update******* I discovered just this evening that a review a I wrote for Fresh Lawn Service in 2010. I did add a couple of updated most recent notes so I hope you read! I have used this company for about 3 years now...found them on Angie's List. It has been the most hassle-free experience I could ever imagine... Let's start with Melinda, the sweet one who does all the work... even though we have never met I would gladly invite her to a holiday family dinner. She is always polite and knowledgeable, acting like she knows who I am every time I call. She's so awesome to take every question I have and get fast answers. I called as a rookie to inquire about holiday lights (YES, THEY DO THAT TOO!) Anyway, she got me all the answers I needed within 24 hours. As for my lawn, they are usually right on time and they do what they say they will do. If I ask for more, they always do what they can to make it happen in the same visit. I have asked them to haul stuff to heavy trash, bag leaves, etc, and they always deliver. It always looks great when I come home after lawn-day! They e-mail me the day before they come so I can have the dogs contained. I think there was a recent shift internally that got my schedule off but the last crew was great and we have requested that that group does our lawn every week. They were apologetic for missing us but they had late notice and we had already locked the gate when they got there. Now we are happy. During winter months I cut back to once a month and Melinda got that right too! My account was adjusted appropriately and I have never been charged for services not performed. One day while the guys were here mowing, the skies opened and it rained barrels for a solid hour. They waited it out under my carport....once the rain moved through, they finished the job. I was very impressed. The evening that the work is done I know that I can look at my bank account and automatically see a withdrawal for the services. How cool is that! Couldn't be easier for good, reliable, regular lawn service. I highly recommend....I have recommended....and I will continue to recommend!

I work night shifts, so when the guy showed up, I was sleeping. I did hear him outside and when I went to check, he had already mowed most of the front yard and was going to start on the back yard. After I woke for the day, I went outside to look at the job done and saw that he only mowed the front and back yard, but did not trim the shrubs. I called and spoke with someone explaining that the job was not complete and they were very nice and explained that they would send him back out later today to finish the job. He never came back that same day. He arrived the next day and rang my door bell informing me that he was here to trim the shrubs. About twenty minutes passed and I went outside to see his work in progress when I found him to be gone. He left and didn't even touch the shrubs. I called the company back AGAIN asking what happened and explained that they still were not trimmed. They apologized and stated that they would send someone back out again. In a couple of days, someone else did come and while I was away from the house, a person representing their company called me to let me know that the crew was at my house right now working on those shrubs. I thanked them and expected to come home to a job done, but received a call again a little later explaining how the crewman's clippers broke and that they would return the following day. From this point on, no one has come back to complete the job. I called the company multiple times and they told me that someone would be out by the weekend, the weekend passed, no one came. I called and requested my money back for the job not performed and was told they would credit my account for the shrubs. A few days passed and that did not happen. So, before writing this review, I thought I would at least email them with details again and also requesting to reimbursed and I still have not heard back from them or received my refund. I am disappointed in the fact that they expect you to pay in advance for the work, but did not even do the work they were hired for. I think it's unprofessional and on the lines of theft. I do not suggest anyone choosing this company to hire.

Overall, except for the mixup in houses, I would say working with this company went very well. They were responsive and polite, and our yard looks so much better. They have an easy online system where services can be ordered and payment can be done. I also did not have to be home for them to do the lawn. I would definitely use this company again for the other services that they provide.

The first red flag was the 5 hour wait time between calling the company and actually getting a response. I had to call back with payment information, and the person I spoke to couldn't answer the simplest of questions (if I could schedule service on a certain day of the week). However, I went ahead anyhow because I needed service ASAP. The crew was scheduled to show before noon today; they didn't get here until after 5PM. I re-scheduled meetings so I'd be here specifically in the morning time since we have small dogs that will escape the back yard fenced area when the gate is opened. I'd prefer they stay inside the house versus chasing them through the neighborhood. After the crew was finished (I was busy with a phone call when they finally did arrive), I walked out to look at the yard. Untrimmed grass on nearly every fence line and sidewalk, ZERO edging anywhere. They did not mow either side of the house, and did not blow off any of the concrete surfaces. Instead of simply moving the sprinkler hose to the sidewalk (12 inches away from where it was sitting), they threw the entire thing (sprinkler and hose wadded up) into the flowerbed and destroyed a somewhat delicate plant that's taken weeks to cultivate. Overall, I would've had better luck hiring a high school kid in the neighborhood to do this job. I attempted to contact the company, but have yet to receive a response, nor do I expect to, given the reviews I've seen of them online. If you're thinking about using this company....keep looking.

The service was inconsistent because they subbed out to different crews. The service was different every week. I never knew what we were going to get. I did like the ability to pay online. I would not use them again.
