Fox Inspection Group

As a Realtor, I've been on both sides of the transaction looking at a Fox Inspection Report. I've used them with my buyers and I've seen them on properties I've listed. I can tell you, without a doubt, they exceed thoroughness and their information is extremely even handed. Each report I've ever seen, and each inspector I've ever dealt with, has been the paragon of their profession. Their reports are detailed and accurate. Their inspectors are professional and well-informed. Without a doubt, I would recommend them again and again.

we called Fox yesterday for our broken furnace, and they saved our wallets! We got an estimate for $750 to fix it from another company. Then a friend told us about Fox;s new A/C service, so we thought hey give it a shot. The guy who came out was just fantastic, Shawn. He took a very close look and fixed it with one screw for the cost of a service call. He said he understood why the other company had such a high estimate, since it looked at first glance like there would need to be some rerouting of pipes. He also took a look at our other HVAC unit to make sure it was safe before we turned on the heat today. Courteous, on time, professional, conscientious, friendly, helpful, patient. Did not mind explaining things to me more than once :) Fox is our new favorite people! Thank you so much!

Scheduling the inspection was a bit rough, but it was resolved. Suggestion: And electronic web based calendar. Keep it updated. The inspector came out and did a good job. Find a number of things we never would have discovered on our own. After wards, there was some confusion regarding the timing of processing the check i gave them and the release of the report. That to was resolved quickly. Suggestion: Process the payment BEFORE you send out an email saying your report is ready and you are asking for payment. General suggestion: Moving is an extremely stressful time for your customers. Remember that. Time is at a premium. Schedule confusion, while slight, can be just one more thing that can make a customer snap. Follow it up with e-mails that imply you have not paid, and the frustration skyrockets. Unfortunately, you are dealing with people that are nearly at their wits end, coping with a bunch of other companies that really do not care one whit about their customers. I know Fox Inspection Group is a fantastic company, and you too are only human. You guys just caught me at a time i wanted to firebomb the other companies I have dealt with in this process. My apologies.

Barney with Fox Inspection did a great job. I was concerned about the foam insulation applied by the builder. He took the time to walk us through the process. He thoroughly explains what the thermal gun will show and what it will not. He walked us through the eps and cons and also assisted with various other questions we had. All in all, I would highly recommend Fox Inspection especially Barney!!!

Very professional, on time, and courteous. They systematically covered every area and mechanical system. Excellent picture angle, quality, and content to document findings. The inspection report helped me negotiate a lower price. They took time to explain findings and make recommendations. When I got the written report, I had some questions about what was not included and they quickly resolved my concerns with excellent customer service. I had a professional structural engineer provide a second inspection report for comparison and I was very happy with the Fox report and services and clarity about what to expect. After seeing a handful of inspection reports in the last several years, the Fox report was the most complete. The extra cost is easily justified if they find even one additional finding that allows a lower price or avoiding a bad purchase.

Inspector showed up on time and was professional and courteous. He answered all my questions and took his time going through the home to carefully document any issues. He was speedy with sending the report and gladly explained things to me in a way a novice handy person could understand.

I needed a professional to perform an inspection of my roof for a dispute with insurance after a recent hail storm. I contacted Fox Inspection Group after a recommendation from a friend and seeing the ratings on Angie's List. They told me immediately that they were NOT the ones who could help me with this problem, but gave me the name and number of a certified roofer who could help me. The roofer whom Fox referred me to was very professional, and came out the same day to inspect my roof. If I ever do need my house inspected, I would definitely use Fox Inspection Group.

A little pricey but I think it was worth it. Did a good job and first time my water meter and gas metet were still not in yet but he was still available to come out and do inspection. Then return once more when meters were in, no extra charge. Overall great job. Did find small things that were fix after inspection report was sent to builder and so far everything seems good in my new home :)

The inspection went fine. The report was given to us very quickly after the inspector left.

Inspector showed up early and did a thorough job inspecting the property. We received a very detailed report including photos the day after the inspection. The price (roughly $900.00) for a 2,500 sq ft, 20 year old home included the termite inspection. The price is several hundred dollars higher than a few other quotes we got from other companies. We do feel satisfied with what we got for our money.

I contracted Fox to handle the Inspection, pool and termite inspection for a home that I am purchasing. The team from Fox was OUTSTANDING, the sub they used for the termite inspection was OUTSTANDING, the sub for the pool was a FAILURE. I highly recommend Fox for their services and the services provided by Tony their sub for termite inspections. They were prompt, thorough and extraordinarily professional. The only reason they are getting a B is due to the sub they use for Pool inspections - Texsun. The Pool sub, Texsun pools and Karl, get a solid F for not knowing proper pool chemistry. I managed pools in college and have had pools all of my life, the only reason for the pool inspection is to keep the equipment covered under the home warranty. According to Carl a CH of 1160 and quot;isn't that badand quot; and a CYA of 180 is OK too. A proper CH is in the 200-300 range, high will cause scaling - lower will cause leeching of calcium from the pool walls. CYA should be between 40 and 120 with real pros recommending 60 as optimal, lower will cause the chlorine to burn off very quickly and high will cause the chlorine to be invective at conventional levels. He documented the thick scale on the pool as pitting when it is actually Calcium buildup from the sky high CH which requires an acid bath or power washing to correct. His recommendation was to re plaster. The best part of the story was that when I brought up the issue with the inspectors they refered to Karl as and quot;Mr. Personalityand quot;, apparently he has irritated folks before. Unfortunately I don't think that anyone has communicated his ineptness to the folks at Fox previously.

Had a home inspection of a 1920s bungalow in the heights. They assigned me someone who was familiar with older construction. He was very professional. I followed him around and asked lots of questions and he wasn't annoyed. He shared what things really needed to be fixed and what things we could probably go without. There was a cover over the hot water pipe that was out of shape and he bent it back right then which was nice because I wouldn't have known there was any issue. I asked him what top five things he would fix and that helped me to gauge what really needed to be fixed. For a 1200 sq ft house it took about 3 hrs. Fox also arranged termite inspection through amrid. I was very happy with them too. Two very nice guys who were willing to sit down with me and explain their inspection. I would go with them again.

The inspector who came to my condo was very nice, polite, and got to work right away with the inspection process. He inspected all inside areas, common areas, adjoining walls, parking area, etc.,as well as the outside patio, rooftop a/c unit. He told me he would complete a formal report that same evening and I had a copy of the 20-page document via email the next day, with photos highlighting specific areas of concern. Before leaving my home, he went through the report to show me areas that would need corrective action and when. He also said he would complete the formal written report that same evening... and I had the final copy via email the next day. The written report was very thorough and easy to understand, in part, because of the verbal briefing before the inspector left my home. My realtor was here during the entire inspection process and he also felt the inspector was very thorough. I appreciate the expertise, I am grateful for his help and his professionalism and would definitely recommend him to others!

As noted above, we used Fox during the building process of our home.

The overall process was great. Ruben, our inspector, arrived 15 minutes early and got right to work inspecting the house. After I arrived, he stopped and greeted me and also mentioned to stop and ask him about any concerns I might have about the home. He covered every inch of the house including the roof. After about three hours, he pulled me aside and covered every issue or concern he found. Everything was document with photos and a most impressive inspection report. The report included all photos and examples of how the concerns should be addressed. He gave me his cell phone number and asked me to call him if I had any follow up questions as well. I would highly recommend FOX for any home inspection and they made our decision to purchase our first home very easy. Thanks FOX!!!

Mr. Mike Johnson arrived at the home a few minutes late, through no fault of his own. Mr. Johnson apologized time and time again for the tardiness. There was construction in the area and I should have warned Fox Inspection Group about this. There were street closures that made getting to the home challenging. Mr. Johnson performed a 4-hour inspection on the home. He was thorough, courteous, and encouraged me to follow along and ask as many questions as I wanted. He told me that two sets of eyes were often better than one set. I stayed with Mr. Johnson the entire time. I made observations about what I saw and he explained thoroughly or even agreed that what I saw needed further investigation. The termite inspection was subcontracted from Fox Inspection Group to Amrid Pest Control. Tony, from Amrid, did a thorough job and took the time to explain to me the results. Tony made recommendations on some low-cost, practical things I could do to minimize ant traffic. I was very happy with Amrid's service. At the conclusion, Mr. Johnson summarized the findings for me verbally. Mr. Johnson also offered that Fox Inspection Group has boxes that their clients may use to assist in moving. This was a welcome offer and a nice touch. Mr. Johnson promised that I would receive the inspection report that evening or early the next morning. The inspection concluded at 2:00 pm and I received a 28-page inspection report at 7:40 pm that very evening. The report was detailed and provided me the information I needed to make smart decisions about negotiating repairs during the purchase process. I'm thoroughly pleased with the services performed by Fox Inspection Group.

This process was painless from beginning to end. Our appointment was set and when we had to reschedule due to a work conflict, it was reset with ease. The inspector, Steve Reilly, was on time and did a very thorough job. He spent time to review the findings with us prior to departure so that there were no surpises upon receipt of the report. The report was amazing - 29 pages - including photos/illustrations of areas where additional work and/or repairs needed to be performed by the builder. The peace of mind that we had a knowledgable and skilled individual inspecting the largest investment of our lives was priceless. I highly recommend Fox Inspection Group.

A friend of our recommended Fox Inspection Group based on a great experience she had purchasing a home. She was very impressed with their quality of service and level of detail. I called them the Saturday after Thanksgiving and someone immediately answered the phone. I was impressed because I thought they would have been closed and I would have gotten a call back on Monday. Stephanie was very pleasant over the phone and told me about the entire process. She told it would cost $565 to have the 2600 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home inspected. I asked about the termite inspection and the thermal imaging and she added those in. Because I booked it during Thanksgiving they were running a special so the 30 day guarantee was given to us free of charge. John came out to the home. He was on time and incredibly thorough. He was at the house for more than 3 hours and we had a 54 page inspection report (YIKES!). I like that we could pay online for the inspection and that the inspection report was online in an accessible link. We didn't end up buying that home because of the inspection report showed us some major problems we had missed. We are using their 30 day guarantee to have another home inspected this week. We trust their work and wouldn't buy a home without their reports. A great company that stands by their work.

I had a very good experience with the Fox Inspection Group, from the initial phone call to the final reports. It was easy to arrange an appointment and everything went smoothly. Andy inspected a 1950's era home I was considering to buy. He arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection of the property. After the inspection, he spent nearly an hour explaining his findings and educating me about the property. The next day, he sent a 50-page(!) report with photos and recommendations. I ultimately purchased the home, but was able to negotiate a better price to cover the needed repairs. I really feel that I got my money's worth from the inspection. I am aware of the problems and have good advice about how to maintain the property in the future. I also had a wood-boring insect inspection included. This was done by John from Texas Termite Terminators. John did a great job, explained how he determined that there were no active termites, but was evidence for prior activity.

Fox Group is terrific. They are friendly and easy to communicate with. They schedule as soon as is possible and are prompt to show up and then finish the report, too. Mr. Gordon Fox started the company, still runs the company, and makes sure his company is top-shelf. I would use no one else were I to buy another home in Houston.

Mark was very professional and spent two and half hours combing through our 1500 sq ft house. He was very thorough and was able to give us a 30 page report within 4 hours of completing his inspection. He was happy to have me tag along and ask any questions I could think of while he was working, which I appreciated. He also was sure to let us know which things needed to be fixed immediately versus which things he was obligated to report, but he wouldn't bother with in his own home.

Overall the inspection went very well. The inspectors arrived early and were already performing the inspection when I arrived. They were very thorough and spent a few hours inspecting the property. When they were finished, they went through all of the findings to see if I had any questions or particular concerns. The inspection report was very detailed and delivered the same day, around 9pm. I read that they're prices were high, but in this case you get what you pay for: very thorough, methodical inspection with fast and detailed reporting.

This is the most comprehensive inspection I have ever had. Our real estate agent recommended Fox and we are so pleased. Their report was very detailed and provided pictures/drawings of all items noted. Andy was a very professional and a pleasure to work with. He pointed out the significant items to us at the end of his inspection and explained in detail (prior to us receiving the written report) what he noted. We received the written report the next day. Because the report was so thorough and contained detailed evidence of items noted, we were able to provide the report to the builder who made the appropriate corrections. We were very pleased with Fox and I have recommended them to others in the market for a home inspection. Great job!
