Description of Work: Not cheap by any means. However, not being local, I needed a company I could trust. Fox was that and more. Rick, who did the inspections (two of them), was patient with me, took his time to explain everything in full detail. Left no question unanswered! The reports Fox furnished afterwards were easy to read and with more then enough details to be very helpful.

Description of Work: Fox Inspection Group inspected a potential house that we were looking to purchase. They did a thorough inspection of the property and answered all of our questions. The owner of the company showed up for a little bit as well to assist and answer other questions. They are a top notch company.

Description of Work: We scheduled an inspection on a Thursday for the following Friday morning. No one showed up and when we called they said we were not scheduled. Everything had been set the day before, with the specified time and the understanding that it had to be in the morning and they said they would call and arrange to get in the house - that I didn't need to worry about that as they would take care of it. When I called they said they were too booked and could not send anyone. If I had known, I would have scheduled someone else.

They were in for about half a day, and went through with the report with me at the end of their inspection. They highlighted every single point. The report that they put together was very professional and thorough, and had pictures and descriptions of everything they found.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job, they pointed out the things which weren't up to current code (old building), noticed some things I wouldn't have (like, the (apparently recently installed) garbage disposals didn't have the dishwasher inserts knocked out), put together a good report on what wasn't up to snuff.
Description of Work: They inspected my house (duplex) before purchase, standard home inspection, crawled under the house, looked in attic, etc.

+ -1 moreSadly, Rod never returned my calls and when I secured other estimates, they came in at 2 times the cost quoted by this guy. I can t say that this was intentional deception, but it doesn t seem right. Oh well, what do they say, fool me once
Description of Work: Home inspection. This is a follow-up to a previous report in which I mentioned that after having Fox inspect our house, we discovered that they failed to check the gate opener which later proved to have been incorrectly installed and obviously in very poor condition. They acknowledged the error, for which I praised them and they admitted that had they checked and found the error. We could have recouped the repair cost from the sellers. So far so good, they acted in good faith and deserve recognition for this. Sadly, the resolution left me with a poor opinion. We agreed that Mr. Fox would find a repair company that would provide a repair quote. He did that and based on that estimate from a fellow named Rod at AAA, I agreed to settle the dispute for the estimated cost.

+ -1 moreSuper, perfect, beyond expectation. The inspector was very professional and spoke in layman's terms so that we could understand. The owner came back and meet with the foundation repair company to make sure we understood everything that the foundation company said. This part was completely unexpected and very much appreciated. This company is fantastic.

+ -1 moreAlthough I was not present during the inspection, I was told that it was lengthy and extensive. A number of small problem items were reported, resulting in their repair. My prior experience is that almost no home inspection catches all the flaws in a home. Such was the case with this inspection. The inspector missed a fairly large problem. The difference here is that when we reported the problem to the company, they immediately took steps to have the problem fixed. This is the hallmark of a good business. Everyone makes mistakes, not everyone will acknowledge and fix them. Mr. Fox did!

+ -1 moreJohn was excellent. I have been through several home inspection processes, but had never attended one personally. The inspector was very, very thorough, and he answered all of my questions regarding defects, potential causes, and about which ones I needed to be concerned. I can't imagine having a better experience. I probably could have gotten the inspection done for less, but I don't believe it would have been done as well. The main office was really helpful as well, especially in recommending further inspections and possible vendors for those services.
Description of Work: John Henry performed a whole house inspection on the house we are getting ready to purchase. The scope of work was to arrange the termite inspection by an outside vendor, and to personally complete the plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural inspections.

+ -1 moreExtremely comprehensive. They listed many small issues that needed minor repair and/or maintenance which we plan to do after moving in. They were a bit more expensive, but worth it. Their report was so clear that we didn't have to debate issues with the seller about some major repairs that were needed.

They were much more thorough than I thought they would be. Their rates were a little bit cheaper than others in our area.
