Fitzgerald Renovations

When we pulled the carpet, we found that it covered a major issue that we'd never been able to correct with foundation work. The original 1920 section of our home was not connected to the approximately 1950's addition of our 2 bedrooms at the foundation and the beams under the walls and the joists were totally inadequate. This required pulling out the entire floor, open to dirt, doubling the number of joists, putting in tongue and groove plywood to create a vapor barrier and then doing the tile work. The floor is now stable and the tile will not crack in the future, which would absolutely have happened if this work hadn't been done. Nita Fitzgerald, mobilized her entire team over to our home, once we got the floor opened and realized the enormity of the problem we were dealing with, kept the price remarkably reasonable (considering the amount of work and wood replacement that had to be done) and asked her crew to work overtime to close up the floor on the first day and not leave the room open to dirt. We started on a Wednesday and they worked through the weekend and the entire job will be completed by the following Tuesday, which is remarkable when you think about all of the steps and drying time involved. My husband says it will be the nicest room in our house as we had remodeled the closets in the same room in June. We are also now aware that the floors under our bedroom are in a similar condition and will need the same sort of attention in the future. And the preparation for that work was started during this process. In the past, Fitzgerald has painted interior and exterior, replaced all of our windows and built out the closet in our master bedroom and we have always admired the way they work and the quality of it. They aren't the cheapest, but they also aren't the most expensive and I trust what Nita tells me and that trust has paid off. Nita and her crew are responsible, hard working and recognize that this kind of disruption is a major inconvenience and do everything in their power to do work as quickly and cleanly as possible, while giving you a quality finished product that will not have to be redone in your tenure of home ownership.

Very well, they showed up when they said they would, did what they agreed to do, charged me the price quoted.

As I said, Nita has done work for us before, so I was expecting the same fine service and I got it. She came out and gave us our bid, we hemmed and hawed for awhile thinking we might do some of the work ourselves but finally said, no, we're too busy and we like her work. They showed up when the y said they would (be prepared for them to start early, especially when it's hot) and they finished when they said they would. I cannot recommend Fitzgerald Painting highly enough and am contemplating other projects because it always looks so good.
