The circumstances of this move were incredibly stressful for me. We were downsizing from the 4 bdrm house where we raised our kids to a 2 brdrm apartment, having sold our house with just 2 weeks to close and move out. The day before closing my mom died. The day after closing, Firefighting's Finest crew arrived to relocate us. Because I'd been out of town with my mom the week before, I wasn't as organized as I would have otherwise been, but everyone rolled with the changes. We did some last minute rethink, and they organized the truck so we could load everything at the house, stop at our storage unit, and offload what we didn't have room for at the apartment. At the apartment, they unloaded everything and moved heavy furniture into place so we wouldn't have to and helped me lift heavy bins and boxes up into closet shelves. I'd gotten several estimates, and theirs was not the cheapest, but it was definitely a fair price, and the final cost was actually a little less than the original estimate, even with the change of plans. Before they arrived, I was a little worried because I knew this would be their third move that day, but you would not have guessed it. They weren't grungy, and their energy didn't flag for a moment. This was a really difficult moment for me personally, and they were incredibly respectful, kind and courteous. Heartfelt thanks to these great guys. I would not hesitate to recommend them will definitely call them next year when we move out of this apartment.

They were very professional and no issues.

We had a super group of guys. The were firefighters working on their off time and military veterans who were all very nice and well educated and knew what they were doing. They arrived on time, came in and introduced themselves to us. We did a walk through and then the move began. Shane, Walter, Dana and Vic were all very hard working young men who got the job done and well done. My prized possession, my dining room suite I custom ordered from the Amish furniture makers was handled with TLC. They were very precise about how to move the hutch in 2 pieces, and I am HAPPY to say - no scratches or dings at all!!!! Love you guys for that!!!. They knew how all my lazy boy furniture came apart, back from the bottom and took care of my leather furniture with expertise. THey worked so hard I could barely get them to take a break for 15 minutes to eat lunch. Their boss had sent them pizza delivered to the house and I had fixed a ham and had some zucchini/walnut bread loafs for them. We iced down a cooler for them to have water and sodas. They were ver respectful of us and our property. We did not even have to pick up one empty bottle or can or paper. When they left, everything was placed where we had asked them to place it, my washer and dryer were hooked up and we were set to begin unpacking. Only regret from this move I have is: I should have gotten them to come and pack me - that was the worst part on me so next time I will get that service as well. I suggested that they maybe hire a crew to specialize in coming in and unpacking and setting you up. That would be the ultimate move!!! Again, THanks again for all your work, Shane, Vic, Dana and Walter.

I was extremely pleased with the service from Walter and Shane. Both were very well mannered and professional. These two employees should be the model for others in the company. I will definitely request these guys for my next move.

Lance and his crew of 4 were very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They worked quickly and were careful with my belongings. There were a few minor scratches and dents, but the guys always advised us when it happened. It was a really, really good move for a fair price.

Without a doubt this was the best moving experience we've ever had. Shane, Daniel, Walter and Rico showed on time and went straight to work. They were careful, conscientious and treated our property as if it were their own. Everything was wrapped and padded, loaded carefully and unloaded the same way. Overall, they really went the extra mile. If I ever need to move again, they will be the first on my list to call. Overall, our expectations were fully met and/or exceeded. Thanks Firefighters Finest and crew for making a stressful process FAR less so!!

Never had better moving experience. On time, very professional, polite, careful, nothing broken ,( packed crystal and several valuable antiques ) and came in UNDER bid! Can't recommend them highly enough!

We used this company once before and had a better experience. This last move was a major move as the first one was not as big of a move. Some things were broken/damaged during the 2nd move, but the company made most of their wrongs right.

These guys are great. Very polite and easy to work with. Very careful with my belongings and very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this company wholeheartedly.

The process starts with an over the phone questionnaire to determine an approximate estimate (which takes place with the local manager Lance Potter.) He is extremely nice, personable, professional & above all genuine. From there an approximate estimate is given, the details of the move are given & a date/time is set up. A few days before our move I received a confirmation call & the crew did call when leaving their yard on the day of the move to inform me of their ETA. When the crew arrives (manager Lance Potter included) all of them immediately introduce themselves & take a walk through of the property & explain how the process will go. They were a basic uniform & are very clean respectable men. The crew then start shrink wrapping all the furniture for protection & moving items according to size/stack-ability according to the trailer space. They were extremely careful while moving all the objects. I did not have any items broken, no scuffed walls & they continued to work solidly through my move only taking short breaks for water & a reasonable lunch break. Once into the new space the crew places the items where you tell them & they remove all the shrink wrap from the items. After finishing up the guys actually used the exact amount of time that I was quoted! What can I say, a move is something that is so basic yet on of the most stressful things we go through. These guys were clean, respectable & careful with my items. I trusted them & they never gave me a reason to doubt that. These are one of the times were you "get what you pay for" & I will definitely be happy to pay them again to move us! I should probably mention that we moved from a 3 story townhome ;)

The gentleman who answered informed me they did not serve the Austin area and gave me a referral. He was kind and sincere and spent a brief time discussing my concerns as a customer on picking a moving company with an excellent reputation, with employees and/or sub contractors that were used consistently for excellent service and making the customer satisfied and happy as moves are pretty stressful all the way around. Had they been able to do the move, I'm pretty sure I would have picked them. He had a wonderful manner relating to a potential customer.

They were punctual. They provided an accurate price over the phone without seeing the furniture – it was based on the number of rooms I had and my description on the larger pieces. It didn’t cause a delay in having them come out to my home for an estimate. When he arrived I asked him if the price would stand and he said yes. They were prompt on moving day and arrived when they said they would. They were quick with loading the truck and made 2 trips so they didn’t have to stack too much. I was very pleased the care they gave my belongings. They were easy to work with as I was making decisions on where to place furniture. If I ever need to move again, they will be my first call.

The move went very well. The crew called and actually wanted to arrive early to start our move. They were very professional and took great care in moving our items. We did pay for travel time for them to get to our area and back, but the estimate was still very reasonable and accurate. We were able to move on a Saturday with short notice as well. Overall a great experience!

DO NOT BOTHER...I took the time to fill out their form and did not get a response, of any kind. I also took the time to "give them the benefit of the doubt" and send a follow up email to my request, in case they didn't get it - no response. I am not talking about a small job here, I'm talking about the possibility of relocating me to another city. This would be one the last place places I would recommend (they are not the only company on the list that did not respond to me). My time is precious to me and taking it to write this is the last I am giving to this company. On the other hand, 3 Men Movers responded IMMEDIATELY with an email and also a phone call. I haven't used them as of yet, my move is next month but if their servcie is as good as their first impression, which speaks volumes, they have 6 stars from me.

Got estimates from three long distance moving companies. Immediately felt comfortable with Lance when he came to look at my condo and explain the services. He called the next day with an estimate, and I booked them for the move a month later. He called back a few days before the move date to confirm that all was still a go and to reassure me that the Company would make everything a smooth transition for me. The Houston crew was right on time for my big move and quickly and efficiently loaded all of my belongings. Very professional. It was such a relief to me that Lance actually made the 10 hour trip! The Tulsa crew quickly unloaded and placed everything where I wanted. Since I had lived in Houston for 17 years, this was a huge and stressful time for me and I'm so thankful that I contracted with this Company. It couldn't have gone better!

Well, if you've ever seen any of those hoarding shows, that's pretty much what my poor apartment looked like. I am not a hoarder, but it sure looked "suspicious". Do to illness and minor disabilities, I was not able to do all those tasks that need to be done when you're moving. With friends' help - I had a good start. But I really didn't know how much was left to be packed until they "dug in". Two men arrived, on schedule, and ready to work. They first had to look around to give a time and price estimate. The estimate was at least 5 hours. I really did not think it would take that long. Boy, was I wrong! Thank goodness they obviously knew what they were doing. Ended up taking over 6 hours! But NO ONE could have worked any harder or any faster. These 2 guys were like machines! I lived on the 2nd floor. They had to go up and down 16 stairs, then turn a 90-degree angle toward the apartment, then another 45-degree angle to get inside. Over the 15 years I lived there, I've seen those stairs beat down the most physical of people. These guys were I NCREDIBLE IN EVERY WAY!!! I tried several times to get them to take a break, but they just refused! They both had wonderful senses of humor, so we were able to joke around a lot, which I appreciated. But in NO WAY did it interfere with their work. I don't even want to imagine how many times they went up and down those stairs. I truly do not know how they were able to keep up the pace the entire time. AND something you don't see a lot - they were VERY MINDFUL of using all the boxes and materials I had so as not to have to charge me for materials! HOW REFRESHING!!! Just to give you an idea of what they had to deal with - it DID take a little over 5 hours to get everything in the truck. And here, in my new apartment - DOWNSTAIRS - LOL - it took less than an hour!! I can't think of enough positive adjectives to use for them! And the pricing - SO REASONABLE and COMPETITIVE!! Especially for the work they had to do there. The absolute ONLY suggestion I could even think of giving is that maybe they should have added an extra person?? But perhaps they normally would have but no one was available since I made a last-minute appointment. Oh yea, that's another GREAT thing. The company fit me in at a perfect time just 2 days before!! Again - JUST NOT ENOUGH GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THESE GUYS AND THIS COMPANY!!!

It's all good:Communication with Lance Potter, the general manager, couldn't have been better. I never had a problem reaching him or getting the information I needed.Lance and Shane arrived early for an 11 a.m. appointment, and they finished significantly ahead of the estimated time, which had been determined with my input and not according to some preset formula.Before loading, they checked each piece of furniture for any loose joints or other potential sources of damage and securely wrapped the more fragile pieces.They hand-carried the furniture and only used hand trucks for the prepacked boxes.The items were placed in the storage unit exactly as I had requested.They were courteous and pleasant and gave careful attention to details that others might have overlooked.

When looking on Angie's list for a mover, we decided on choosing Firefighting's Finest because of the reviews of other members as well as the fact that they had offices in both the Dallas and Houston, Texas areas as we were moving from Dallas to Houston. While the quote they gave was a little bit higher than others, we still decided to go with them based on the reviews and their locations of business. We had a crew of three movers load several pieces of furniture and a few pre-packed boxes from our three story town home in Dallas on day one of our move. One of the three movers, the driver, drove the truck down to Houston the night of day one and two different movers from their Houston office came to assist the driver in unloading and re-assembling furniture in Houston on day two. While optimally we didn't want the move to be done over two days, we went along with the schedule. Interestingly enough, we saw a huge attitude difference in between our day one movers (Dallas crew) and day two movers (Houston crew). Day one we were scheduled to move at 8:00am, but they showed up at 9:30am due to traffic then started the move promptly. I must tell you that I understand that the day one movers faced a challenge of moving two very large armois and a washer and dryer down several flights of stairs cannot be easy, but there was a lot of arguing and cursing which we could hear. Additionally, they did take a nice chunk out of one of our armois and we had a few minor scratches on other pieces of furniture, but they did give us a number to call to schedule someone to fix the furniture after we brought the issue up to them. After making multiple of moves in my lifetime, I didn't think that was anything out of ordinary for furniture damage, especially from the surroundings they were moving the furniture out of. Day two movers were extremely courteous, worked well together, and handled all of our furniture and possessions with care. They were scheduled to show up at 9am to start the move and were all there exactly at 9am. I really wish these folks would have done our entire move. If they were all of Firefighting's Finest team, I would definitely give them an A+. Overall, I gave Firefighting's finest a B due to the so so professionalism on day one and tardiness on day one. Though we did receive a call that they were running late, we thought that would mean 15-20 minutes, not an hour and a half. Additionally, the price was a little high for the service we received. I would definitely use Firefighting's Finest if I was moving within Houston, but I guess you never know what team you are going to get or what kind of day they are having. UPDATE as of 8/19/12: Patrick, the Vice President of Firefighting's Finest, has since contacted us regarding the review I posted above. He profusely apologized for his Dallas crew's performance and attitude and thanked us for our honest review. Based on other Angie's List reviews and his response, it sounds like our experience was unfortunately an isolated incident. I appreciate the fact that he took notice to what I wrote and is using it to improve his crew and business. Because of Patrick's call, we will definitely not write them off for possible future use.
