Fantastic Door Refinish

This was a terrible experience and I can’t believe I fell for the good reviews. He gave me a quote after I sent some pictures. He shows up and explains that he doesn’t have the right tools to do the job so we reschedule. No big deal. Then, he shows up almost an hour late the second time. The front door looked ok after he was done, but then the inside metal piece of the door flung off on the top and scraped the door varnish. I couldn’t close the door after that. We also had agreed that he would “repair” some rotted wood in the door jam on the back door. That was the most messed up fix job I’ve ever seen. He then argued with me and told me just don’t pay me for the back even though I did all this work. He basically badly fixed it with bondo and then painted it over. Terrible craftsmanship. I can’t believe anyone has ever had a good experience with this guy. At the end of the day, being a “nice” guy and doing a terrible job is unacceptable. Never again.

He was on time, work was done at the location and very happy with the result. Will use him again

Israel is the owner. Unprofessional, and very careless.He messed up my door alignment and security sensors and argued loud about how it wasn't his fault. Unfortunately I trusted him and paid him on a rushed job. Try him at your own risk or do not pay him until you are completely satisfied with his work, even it means to delay or make a better choice by hiring someone else. He is a scam artist like others pointed

This was my first time Refinishing my Front Door and didn't know what to expect. I was referred by a family friend. My friend said that they had actually come out a year later to fulfill the warranty and did just a good a job as the initial visit. I am so glad that I used Fantastic Door Refinish's Services. They were so helpful and thorough when explaining all the steps over the phone. So I knew exactly what would take place on the day of our scheduled appointment. Fantastic Door Refinish was on time and ready to work. They were also very professional throughout the entire process. I am so Happy with the end result. My door looks brand new. He really brought my door back to life with his quality workmanship. I will definitely use Fantastic Door Refinish again for all my refinishing needs. Since I was completely satisfied with their work, I joined Angies list just so I could leave them this good review. I've already received so many compliments on my door. I will continue to tell everyone how wonderful Fantastic Door Refinish was to work with.

On 5/14/17 Israel (Owner) came out and forgot one of his tools so instead of taking the front door down he did it with the up. I was fine with that; he seemed like a nice person. However, after he scraped, sanded, stained, and put clear coat on he said he will need to come back after 7 days because he needed to add the second layer of stain and clear coat. I said ok and paid him for the full amount $200. The following week he sent a text stating he had to reschedule because he is out sick. So we rescheduled for 5/23 but he never showed up and I texted asking him if he could make it he replied my text and said next Tuesday 5/30 first thing in the morning. But ever since then he went MIA. Called, texted, left voicemail and no response. He has either disappeared or is purposely avoiding me. My door feels really rough from all the sanding and it definitely needs more stain and clear coat. I have to find someone else to finish his work and spend more money!! I am very surprised he is a SCAM and I actually totally trusted him and believe in him.

This door is a custom made, high quality mahogany door with leaded glass manufactured by Reed Door. I live on Clear Lake and the door was damaged by the brutal direct morning sun and by a break in to the house when it was vacant. The sun rays had discolored the natural beauty of the wood. The break in damage did not cause any structural damage but did show scaring and marks from the forced entry. The owner of the company, Israel, arrived on time, assessed the problem, and assured me that he could make the door look good again. He promised satisfaction of work before a payment was due. He started by removing the door, the hardware, and worked all day to repair the damage and renew both sides of the door. Israel had to replace the door hardware and rehang the door. He called me to inspect. I was amazed. The door is beautiful again. Everybody that sees it thinks that it is a new door. I am well satisfied by the quality workmanship of Israel Saldana. He definitely knows how to renew wooden doors. His work even includes a one-year warranty just in case the brutal sun takes aim at the door again.
