Falling Water Irrigation & Drainage

We recently rejoined Angies List and wanted to enlighten everyone of this provider. We used them to install 2 different sprinkler systems in some rental properties in 2005 & 2006 and that part went fine. When I mentioned that we were buying a large property in need of lots of landscaping he mentioned that his wife was a Master gardener and that they would like to bid on the extensive landscaping job we were going to have done. Since we had used them before for on (2 small) sprinkler installations and all went well we let them bid on the job. I am a designer & longtime gardener and knew exactly what I wanted in my gardens and made it very clear that it would be done according to my wishes. He and his wife came to talk to us and honestly we were very skeptical that they would be able to handle such a large job. We expressed our concerns to them and they insisted they could handle it. We drew up a contract and agreed on the terms of which they did not meet. Nothing went right from the beginning. He had day labor god knows where he found them and he did not supervise them either. He would send his wife out to check on them. We asked them to plant a row of wax myrtles to form a screen in front of our back neighbors yard and they did not prepare any of the freshly cleared wilderness for planting. They would have never survived. They also were to remove 8 large bradford pear trees in our front yard and clear and prepare the ground for a huge garden bed with a fountain in the center. This is where it all fell apart. He insisted on changing the plan to his idea or vision and we battled over this daily and one day he went off the deep end and ran up and down our driveway yelling at me, calling me names, threw at shovel at me and really he was very frightening. I had an electrician working on the property and he heard him and came to my rescue. We stood on my front porch as this crazy person acted irrationally and out of control. We asked him to leave and he refused and we warned him we were calling the police and we did as our electrician took video of him. When he realized we were serious he ordered his workers to load all the plants that had been delivered that day back on his truck. When the police arrived he refused to leave and they ordered him off our property. My husband tried to go and talk to him (after giving him time to calm down) at his home because he really had 11,497 of our dollars now and the job was not finished. He ordered my husband off his property and threatened to call the police. He claimed he could not work with us because we were unreasonable. We only wanted the end result to be what we had discussed and agreed to and he would not budge. This is a lot of money that we did not get back plus the cost of purchasing all the material needed for my husband and I to finish the work ourselves. This man and his wife have no professionalism or knowledge of landscaping. Please save yourself lots of money, time and frustration not to mention your safety, Do Not Hire Them they are very unpredictable. They may be ok for very small sprinkler work but they are not landscapers.

It went real good. It was for my daughter who was real happy with it. The tech was a real good guy. I didn't hear any complaints.

His service was fine. He did everything that he said he was going to do. My French drains are working like they were promised. The price was reasonable. He was about a $1000 lower than anybody else that I got an estimate from. I hope I don't have to use him again, but I will use him if I have to.

They did excellent work. I didn?t have any problems with them and their work. I was around when they were doing the job. I noticed that things were changing as they moved along with the work. The final product was good. There were times when a couple of people weren?t listening to me very well; that bothered me a little bit. However, they got it straightened out quickly. The sprinkler system cost me a little over $3000. However, I wasn?t too happy with the cost of the drainage work. I am not sure if I?ll use them again.

Holes were chopped out of the curbing, it was not smoothed and looked atrocious. Neighbors complained, the city cited us and we had to pay someone to come fix what Falling Waters messed up. We had Mr. Dieter back 4 or 5 times to try to fix our drains correctly. He was courteous and gracious, but he just has no idea how to put in an efficient drain system of a large size. We have had to have another company re-do almost everything we paid Falling Waters to do, including fixing all the sprinkler pipes he broke or buried while digging holes. We feel we were not given what we paid for and would absolutely not recommend them to our friends or neighbors or anyone else.

Mark was great. He finished his work as promised. The only delay is caused by his carpenter, who needs to amend our patio cover for the installation of gutters by Mark's gutter guy. However, when I called Mark for a status, he answered my questions and promised to keep me informed. I trust Mark, because he completed the work as promised.

The technician that came out was very knowledgeable and really did his best to make sure we were happy before he left. We appreciated that.

They were very professional. He stuck to his word and I have not had any issues. The prices were descent.

They did a great job overall. My only concern is I asked him not to design an area of grass and a flowerbed on one station because in my other house this caused the grassy area to flood. He put them on the same station anyway, but he said I will have no problems with it. I guess time will tell.

We had a minor flood in our house that ruined our wood floors. The french drain was part of the overall plan to make sure this would not happen again. Mr Dieter responded promptly to our call to request a quote, and offered a price that was several hundred dollars less than the competition. The installation went well overall. There was just one minor misunderstanding. It had to do with removing two large oleander bushes. Mr Dieter maintained that he did not agree to do this, while we distinctly remember that he did. The cure for this would have been to detail this in the quote. If you use Falling Water (and I highly recommend that you do) just learn from our experience and capture all of the details of your job into the signed quote.

They were prompt, courteous and professional! We were pleased with the work done and the way that they explained what needed to be done.

WE HAD MARK INSTALL A SPRINKLER SYSTEM IN OUR DAUGHTER'S HOME IN NOVEMBER OF 2004, AND WE WERE SO IMPRESSED WITH HIS OLD SCHOOL WORK ETHIC AND QUICK RESPONSE TO ANY FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS OR NEEDS. HE IS THOROUGH AND KNOWS HIS BUSINESS WELL. HE IS NOT THE CHEAPEST AND NOT THE MOST EXPENSIVE, BUT HE IS WELL WORTH IT. AFTER HIRING HIM AGAIN OCT. 4TH, 2005 WE ARE CONVINCED THAT HE IS RELIABLE AND CAN BE TRUSTED TO GET THE JOB DONE VERY EFFICIENTLY. HE WAS THERE WAY BEFORE HE WAS DUE AND GOT DONE EARLY BOTH TIMES AND RAN THROUGH THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WITH US AND MADE SURE HE CLEANED UP AFTER HIS JOB BEFORE HE LEFT. HE DOESN'T NEED ANY BABYSITTING. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS LATER OR ANY ADJUSTMENTS NEED TO BE MADE TO THE SYSTEM, HE IS QUICK TO RESPOND AND IS SO NICE WHEN HE DOES. IN THAT FIELD IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND RELIABLE AND GOOD PEOPLE, AND MARK IS ONE OF THE FEW. HE IS A LICENSED IRRIGATOR AND MEMBER OF THE BBB. HE IS NOW OUR IRRIGATION GUY FOR ALL FUTURE JOBS.
