DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!! They quote an exceptionally low price for your move without ever seeing your things. If you run over the amount of cubic feet after they have moved all your things into the truck they will charge you double the amount that was quoted. Tt moved me from Baton Rouge, LA to Elkins, WV and were the worst. On moving day Kathy said the movers would be at my house between 8 -10am (the phone call was at 7:30am). She didn't tell me the movers were coming from Houston, which was a 5 hour drive, so I sat around waiting until almost 2pm before they showed up. They finished at 11pm that night. I was told my furniture would be in Elkins around July 12th, when in reality it was still in the warehouse in Houston. They pick up your stuff, then take it all back to their warehouse, where they unpack your things and hold them until they get enough trips going to your area. Then they pack your stuff, along with a bunch of other people's things, into a ratty 18 wheeler that they don't even own - they contract the moving services out to a company in Maryland. By the time I got my things, the boxes were crushed and shredded - if there hadn't been extra packing tape around the boxes my things would have been gone. My four poster bed was broken, along with plates, dishes, an antique floor lamp, and other items. No one tells the truth here - I was told on July 12th that my stuff was "on the way" and would arrive "in a couple of days". Never could I get a straight answer as to when my things would arrive or even where it was. I found out from the driver who delivered my things that they didn't even pack the truck o start their deliveries until a week after I was told it was on the way. He had a four day delay in Houston for some reason, and all the while when I called to see where and when my stuff would arrive I got the runaround - they knew my things hadn't left yet, but continued to tell me that I needed to call the driver (who's phone would not accept outside calls) or that they would call the driver and call me right back, which they never did. When the driver finally arrived, he insisted on cash before he would unload my things, which I paid him. Several men from Elkins showed up to help him unload the truck - you never see the original men who loaded the truck. Apparently they call the local job service and ask for hourly help - well these three guys lasted 1/2 hour, 1 hour, and 3 hours - leaving just the driver, me, and a local college student to unload all my furniture. The driver refused to put my furniture back together, didn't even take the blankets off my matresses and box springs, left wrapped furniture out on the deck, and told me I was lucky because I really owed him $400 extra for the extra time it took to unload. He refused to get extra help to unload the truck. I can't express the amount of frustration and anger this company caused me - I would never use them again even if I had to drag my things on my back. THEY ARE LIERS AND TOTALLY UNSCRUPULOUS IN MY OPINION. Don't trust their original quote - I was told they could pack and move my 4 bedroom house for $3,600, which I knew was not right. I got other quotes from people who came to my house for $10,000 - and when Eric, one of their salesmen, called me to see how my move was going I told him that I was still trying to decide what to do because the $10,000 was out of my price range. He asked me to send him the quote that detailed all my furniture and items and came back with a quote of $5,300 and some change. After the truck was loaded, the mover told me i'd gone over my cubic square foot limit, and instead of paying $2.40 per cubic foot I was now paying twice that much. I had to pay an additonal $600 dollars. Once again, I just can't say enough times - do not use this company unless you want your move to be the most frustrating and agonizing experience of your life.
Description of Work: I hired this company to move my household items from Baton Rouge, LA to Elkins, WV. They took apart all my furniture, kept it in their warehouse for almost a month without my knowledge, then delivered it with only the driver, who refused to re-assemble any of the furniture that had been disassembled by the original moving crew.
