Description of Work: I was moving from a 2-bedroom apt to another apt of the same size ... 4 miles away. The move took ten (10) hours and cost $1,036. The movers did not wrap any of the furniture and did not secure my possessions once they were loaded into the moving van. I have a small very old ... antique table. The table had been damaged by the prior owner and had been repaired. Although the table was not worth much given the damage, I loved the table and it had been suitably repaired so no one would know. The contents apparently shifted in the van and two table legs were broken off. Additionally, many of my things were scratched and/or dented. It was a horrendous experience and heartbreaking to see all the damage that was done by carelessness. This is a family owned business and I knew that Dwight as owner was the decision-maker. I phoned and emailed and was told to discuss my complaint with "Nancy." We traded emails and she repeatedly promised to speak with Dwight to resolve the issue. I waited for word - but never received any. I had the table repaired on my own and did not recieve any compensation from the company. Dwight's response to the credit card company was that I had not purchased additional insurance so they did not need to make amends. I have submitted a report to the Better Business Bureau - this was inexcusable and should not be tolerated.
