I hired Discount Painters to paint the inside of our home, repaint the bead-board in our kitchen, and some other small jobs. This was not a great experience as they showed up significantly late every day… on the days they showed up. You can see the quality of “acceptable” in the attached pictures. Some items were not completed and I paid the full amount, which was a very fair price. I will say, Discount Painters was very affordable. Richard, the owner, also had reasons for all issues we encountered and I felt he did his best to make that right, even though the work was sub par. Fast forward, I gave them another chance and personally hired Richard to install some flooring in our house. I had very strict expectations on the quality and timeliness to which he agreed. I gave him a deposit, and then we were told the crew would show up on a specific date. When they didn’t we were told a few obvious lies. They no-showed on several occasions. I was highly concerned and we cancelled the job. Richard agreed to cancel and agreed to return my deposit. Richard never returned my deposit and currently owes me over $10,000 with the deposit he kept and the fees I have incurred. I have had to take legal action and file a lawsuit to get our money back. Throughout the past 3 months of trying to get my money back, Richard has failed to deliver on numerous occasions with very little effort in returning the money I gave him.
