First of all my long time friend recommended this company to me as she used them years ago. I think at one point, my family used them many many years ago. I dealt mainly with Jim who was one of the owners along with his brother Paul. They both were so very nice and very knowledgeable. Jim was very patient with me as I made several trips to the store to decide on the flooring and he helped me choose the best type of floor for my kitchen and breakfast room. I/we made the correct decision and I am very pleased. It looks wonderful. People think my floor is tile and not vinyl. The only little thing was that it took more than the time they said it would take but the installer needed more time and it all worked out. I would definitely recommend you call them since they have been in business in Houston for years and if they were NOT great, they would not still be in business. They have years of experience in the flooring/carpet business and how all of that interacts with our weather. I would definitely use them again.

The job was started and completed as promised. The installer was excellent..not one mistake or problem. We are very happy with the finished product, and will continue to use this company for all future flooring projects!

My sister and I coordinated long distance to price several remodeling projects for our Mom's 80th birthday. We had a very tight budget to work with and had decided to replace kitchen counters and sink for the main project and if more money became available we would pick another project and "see" if we could get it done. We had an awesome response by sister-in-law, brother, and sister, so we decided to also replace very worn vinyl in kitchen and small master bath. My sister and I had a vacation week to get all the work done and we hadn't gotten any bids for flooring! We were referred to Dick n' Sons and from the first contact, Jim listened carefully (and patiently) as we detailed the budget and time constraints. Jim directed us to the flooring that would fit our budget, did an estimate based on a drawing I provided. We needed to first find out if we could afford the project and when we found the answer was yes, we needed to get it scheduled. Jim called the supplier to find out which products were available and we chose samples from those that were immediately available and Mom chose a pattern based on the samples they loaned us. Al came the next day to measure and give the final bid and since we accepted the terms, they scheduled to start the job the following day. The installer worked diligently to sand and level and prepare the uneven surface and the job turned out great in both the bathroom and kitchen. We are pleased with the customer service, the calm assurance that the work would be scheduled and service completed. The completed price was slightly under the bid quoted. The customer service was priceless. Mom is enjoying the new flooring!

The installer worked very hard to insure the floor surface was clean and level. He was very meticulous. He had to sand and level the floor as well as insure all the screw heads were sunk. This is a family owned business and it was very nice dealing with James and Paul. Even though my entry and kitchen is relatively small, Jay (the installer) took the time to insure it was done well. I love it.

Another great experience with Dick n' Sons. (I also submitted the review dated Aug. 27, 2011.) Floor replacements in several rooms after extensive water damage caused by a broken pipe. Good selection, good advice, excellent work, and personal attention from the owners. Price was reasonable, too. I admire this company.

Carpet was reasonably priced. Installation was done on time. Did have to recall installer a year or so later to restretch a portion of the carpet.

They have a store close to us. We went over there and talked with them and got some samples. We brought them home and looked at them in the room. We decided on a carpet. They came out and measured. They did the job and removed the furniture. I would use them again in the future.

Dick n Sons offers a great selection of carpet in all price ranges (also install tile and wood flooring). Over time I have bought carpeting for 3 rooms in my home. Always prompt and expert installation. Will always go to Dick n Sons for flooring needs.

We have used Dick 'N Sons many years for carpet cleaning and Pergo floor installation. From our first visit to their showroom to the installation, everything went smoothly. Their work is superb. I love the flooring they put in. Recently we had a remodel done on our kitchen and the contractor used a different company to install the floor. The difference in the quality of the work is remarkable. I will never use another company again.

Job could haven been completed quicker if they showed up before 10:00 am. Required a Saturday to complete job. However, done very well. Minor misunderstanding over final cost. Nice, local family run business.

This is a family-owned business (brothers Paul and Jim), and it shows. Dick N' Sons installed laminate in two bedrooms (July 2011) and carpet in two bedrooms and a long hallway (October 2011). We had used another floor store (heavy advertiser on local TV) for a mixture of laminate and carpet in the kitchen, den, and living room. As compared to the other store, Dick N' Sons was slightly more expensive, but the work was better. Jim did the measuring himself, and he tested for moisture in the slab, which the other store never did. As it turned out, our moisture level was OK, but I appreciated the check. Also, Dick N' Sons used "mud" to ensure a completely level floor before installing the laminate, another service the other store never even offered. Product selection was good, and Paul was quick to point out a manufacturer's promotion that saved substantial bucks on a higher-end laminate. The installation crews were polite, fast, and obviously experienced. All in all, a very good experience.

Dick N Sons was fantastic. They are very expensive but they work hard. I thought my carpets were hopeless but the fixed them for me. My carpets look brand new. They make everything perfect and they care about doing a good job. They are the best at what they do, you have to pay for it but they are the best.

Overall the process went well. The primary salesperson, Jim, was cordial. I first met him in the shop. He answered some questions. He let me take home a catalog of the flooring company I was most interested in. When we decided we would like to get an estimate, he came out to do an estimate. After we decided to go with his estimate, he let me take some larger samples from the shop home without a charge so I could decide which would look best in the space. I returned them the same day. The flooring came in earlier than they had estimated, and the installers started promptly after it arrived with prepping the floor. Prepping the floor took a little longer than anticipated because more floor prep was needed than originally estimated. They moved the little bit of furniture and removed the carpet. They replaced the furniture when they visited. It took about 6 days, a little longer than we thought it would. The installers didn't come until nearly 10 am each day. It would have been better for our schedule if they could have started their work earlier. We asked them to come earlier, but they were inflexible about that. Also, if they had started earlier, it maybe wouldn't have taken so many days to complete. But the work seems to done well. The floor looks very nice. And we are pleased with the results.

We took advantage of the free carpet cleaning offer from Dick N' Sons about a year after we had them install new carpeting. They were very punctual, arriving at the time they promised. The crew moved furniture where needed and did a superior job of cleaning the carpet. In one bedroom where there is heavy traffic the carpet now looks just as good as in area that have very light traffic. Very pleased with the carpeting from Dick N' Sons and with their cleaning service.

We put laminate flooring in three rooms. Went to the store to get wood flooring but I have three dogs and I ended up getting laminate based on their recommendations. I am very happy with the choice. The final costs was the exact estimate and the contractor was very professional. I was told the job would be completed in two or three days and it was done in less than two. Everything was clean and put back into place before they left.

We were pleased with the job that they did. I connect them with quality product. I remember that they were reliable. The quality of work they did was very good.

I have used DicknSons several times to clean my light colored carpets in my previous home and now my current home. They are, and have always been prompt, professional and courteous. They do charge more than the typical advertised national companies, however, I have found that their quality is worth the extra amount.

The carpet in our family room and two downstairs bedrooms was very old and badly soiled. We selected a beautiful powder blue carpet with the assistance of Paul Rafferty. His brother James came out to do the measurements and worked up the pricing complete with removal of the old carpet and installation of the new carpet and necessary pad. The pricing was very fair and within our budget. We scheduled installation for the following week. The installation crew arrived on time and took care of moving furniture where necessary. They did a great install job very professionally and where finished the same day. They had enough carpet left to lay in one of bathrooms at no extra charge. Great experience! They will do our kitchen floor soon!

Dick'n'sons is quite old school. We had to go to the store to select the tile and then communicated directly with one of the two owners (the Rafferty brothers) to get anything else done. If Jim was unavailable or did not respond to a message, I just had to wait. Still, the workers did a superb job on my floor. They removed the problematic flooring and installed a gorgeous tile. They also made excellent recommendations for grout work and suggested ways for me to save money.
