They connected all faucets, refrigerators and washers even the faucets in the back yard with new PVC pipes. They cut the sheet rock in several places where they needed to run the pipes and after they were done they patched all the holes in such a way that unless somebody points it out to you, you would not know that there was a hole there. Very neat work.
Description of Work: Delta Mechanical replumbed my entire house with PVC pipes but I was dealing with their office in Florida, maybe back in 2009 they did not have an office in Houston.

The crew that came out were punctual and courteous, BUT APPEARED TO NOT KNOW THE PLUMBING CODE FOR LEON VALLEY, TEXAS. Delta Mechanical is a Home Depot contractor and is a large operation. They are used locally (San Antonio) Texas. I was pleased with the install, but shocked at the final price. After the Inspector came by several days later, I was told that much of what was done WAS NOT NEEDED. The water heater is in a 'closet' in the corner of the garage with vent to outside. I was told (by plumber) it needed to be on a stand, in a drain-pan, and be protected from surge with the surge tank and anti-siphon valve, all of which added $1100 in labor and parts to the bill. (The heater was a 40 gal gas GE costing about $380) Those are all different codes based on the location of the water heater, municipality it's located in, and the water pressure/system it's connected to. Check with the code inspectors before making a decision under duress. It's worth the money. Needless to say, I will NEVER use Delta for anything. Be forewarned. The Inspector did tell me that this 'overselling' is a common practice that he sees a lot of in his line of work. Home Depot has many good contractors, as I've used many in the past, but I'm weeding them out the hard way it seems.

Delta is recommended plumber by Home Depot. While shopping for a water heater at Home Depot, I called Delta and got an installation estimate. Since they were Home Depot recommended I said yes. Then when Delta showed up, they TRIPLED the installation. I told them "Thanks for stopping by". He said "Have a nice day". I complained to Home Depot, but they have not responded.

Wow, I bought a Toilet from Home Deport and home Depot contracted with Delta Mechanical. I would not have know who to use before fro plumbing, But I am very impressed with Delta Mechanical. First they called a scheduled an appointment. it was a four hour window on May 18, 2013 from 9 am to 1 pm. On the day of the appointment they called to reconfirm the appointment. When the arrived there were two people and the very, very professional. The turned off the water and drained the old toilet. The had a wet vacuum pump and sponge and took out the extra water. They unpacked the new toilet and installed it. The toilet was beige and they were going to caulk around the bottom and asked me if I wanted clear or white because they didn't have beige. I chose clear. They finished up the installation. The old toilet was placed in the new toilet box and the hauled off the old toilet and all the new toilet packing materials. The were very fast and very professional and cleaned up everything. The cost was excellent also. The total cost to install was $134 which I thought was extremely reasonable. I didn't know about Delta mechanical before, But I will use them for any plumbing needs in the future.

I have two Rinai tank less water heaters one of them is not working (has error code 12-flame failure) but the other one is still working. I have contacted Renai and validated that our heaters are still under warranty by Rinai. RInai also instructed us to call a Rinai certified technicians from their technicians list (on Rinai?s web site) to come to our house to diagnose the problems which cause flame failure then call Rinai for parts. Rinai also informed us that the Labor cost is no longer under warrantee because our units have been more than one year old. Since Delta Mechanical Inc. is on Rinai?s technician list we called them and told them we need their diagnoses and contacting Rinai to get the parts to fix the not working water heater unit. Over the phone they agreed to do that and promised to send their best technician over whose name was Spencer. When Spencer came he had no tool whatsoever with him, he went to our attic, looked at our Rinai water heater unites for few minutes and told me that those units need to be replaced, and cannot be fixed. When I asked Spencer why it cannot be fixed? His said that he saw water in the pan underneath the heater it indicated that the heaters have been leaking. When I asked him from where of the unit the leak has coming from? He could not answer my questions and became irritated and told me to seek other advisors. Then he gave me the estimate quote of $6,000.00 to replace the two water heater units. Then I asked him why should I need to replace two units since only one is not working? Spencer said: the working one will quit working soon; otherwise it costs $3,800.00 to replace one unit. The next day my husband inspected the heater units to determine where the leak was coming from and he could not find any leak from the units themselves, while he was doing that it rains then he found out that the rain water leak through the unit?s vents from the roof. He then did some research on the internet and found some posts on how to fix the Rinai?s flame failure error code-12 which can be caused by water wetting the water heater?s burner. My husband then cleaned and dried the water heaters? burners, now our Rinai water heater is working fine. Delta Mechanical Inc. charged us $100.00 service call in advance for doing nothing but gave us the estimate of replacement cost of $6,000.00. We can get this estimate for free from any heater dealers. When I call Delta Mechanical Inc. and ask for the refund of $100.00,since did not do as they were hired to do, the manager threatened me that she will call Rinai to inform Rinai that our water heaters was install improperly so Rinai will cancel our warrantee. Delta Mechanical Inc. is a crook, a theft beware of their scams.
Description of Work: Suppose to diagnose and contact Rinai to obtain the parts and fix the Rinai tank less water but they did not do any of those but just look at the units and give us a quote of $6,000.00 to replace the units.

Lousy. See above. My upgrade was strictly amateur, and not up to plumbers' standards. But it passed city inspection. I would have been glad not to have done the work if Delta had made a reasonable charge. $300 would have been at the outside of reason. But $650 was not. They wanted to charge $125 to "elevate the water heater." Elevating the water heater means putting four concrete pavers underneath it at a total cost of about $8.00. They wanted to charge $149 to move a clothes dryer about six feet to allow space to install the heater. That is at most a 10 minute job. I accept that Delta Mechanical can charge anything they want in a free market. But when I have to deal with them because I am tied to Home Depot's extended warranty, we are not in a free market. These people prey on widows and old people because they are for the most part helpless to do the work themselves. Delta said at the outset I could not do anything to reduce the cost except buy the drain pan at Home Depot. My complaint is as much with Home Depot as with Delta. It was, after all, Home Depot that imposed these bandits on me with the warranty coverage. The warranty itself is worthless--GE has a six year warranty, and all Home Depot did is overlap the GE warranty and charge me a premium, while inflicting an overcharging bunch of incompetents on me. John Mixon
Description of Work: 6136 Kirby Drive Houston, Texas 77005 November 28, 2011 Home Depot Complaints Gentlemen: This story tells why I will never again buy a Home Depot appliance or extended warranty. I paid for an extended warranty on a GE 38” water heater when I bought it about four years ago. The installation conformed to the then-applicable plumbing code. The heater failed, and I called to get warranty coverage. Texas Delta Mechanical is apparently your local plumber. I assumed the warranty replacement would be simple. It wasn’t. It was a nightmare. Part of the nightmare is not Delta’s fault. The City changed its installation requirements during the past four years, and it now requires that the water heater have a pan and a pressure discharge that extend to the outside. That is a sensible requirement. What was not sensible is the charge that Delta imposed to “bring the water heater closet up to code standard.” Their installation costs added up to $1050. 1. Charge for permit from the wrong city. $125.00 2. Basic installation 197.00 3. Obstructed space 149.00 4. Ball shut-off valve 55.00 5. Flex supply lines 45.00 6. Drain pan 80.00 7. Drain pan line (3’ of pvc @ $10.40) 31.20 8. Pressure line (7’ at $10.40) 72.80 9. Two wall penetrations @ $75.00 each 150.00 10. Water heater elevation 125.00 Total $1,050.00 Now let’s look at the actual reasonable cost: 1. The City permit actually costs $ 55.00 2. Basic installation is your concern, not mine 197.00 ===== 3. Obstructed space. I am 78 years old. It took me 10 minutes to move the clothes dryer 000 4. Ball shut-off valve—already installed. 000 5. Flex supply lines 45.00 6. Drain pan Home depot price 20.00 7. Pvc and fittings 3.00 8. Pressure line and fittings 5.00 9. Two wall penetrations (15 minutes @ $100 hr) 25.00 10. Water heater elevation Four concrete paving blocks @ $2.00 each 8.00 Total $106.00 Delta said they would apply some $400 from Home Depot to the $1050. That would leave me owing some $650 if they did the work. When I saw what was involved, I got a permit from the city and did the code upgrade for about the cost shown above--$106.00. Delta said I could get an overflow pan from Home Depot. I measured the water heater, read the Home Depot instructions, saw that the pan should be 3” bigger than the heater (which was 23”). I bought a plastic pan that says the outside diameter is 26 inches. I installed the pan, and Delta’s plumber said it was not big enough. It had to be 28 inches. Home Depot does not sell a 28 inch pan. Delta’s telephone guy said it would have to special ordered. I bought a 16 inch aluminum pan from Home Depot, picked the water heater up and put the pan under it. It left at least an inch and a half for the hose connection beyond the drain faucet. Then Delta refused to come back and install the heater until Friday, when I can’t be at home. They said they would not use the 26 inch pan because their plumber said I needed a 28 inch pan. When I insisted, Delta sent out a field manager named Christopher Henning. He looked at the pan and said it was big enough. Another two or three days wasted. Delta finally installed the heater and it passed city inspection today. Delta is your authorized plumber. They are using their connection with you to charge outrageous fees to your customers for work that is associated with warranty replacement. You are in a position to bargain with them for your installation fee. When we have warranty coverage, we are locked in to using them. How many widows and old folks have they ripped off this way? I would guess thousands. The extended warranty, by the way, appears to be worthless, since G.E. warrants the heater for six years. I was without hot water for a couple of weeks trying to deal with your incompetent installer. You may be assured I will spread my story as wide as possible. Yours truly, John Mixon
