The project went very smoothly. There was a slight delay in delivering of deck materials but project stayed on time.
Description of Work: Company provided a prompt estimate and start date. Existing deck on second level was removed and a new deck installed. Metal railing was cleaned and repainted. Some damaged wood was replaced. Work was excellent. Cleanup was very good.

I sent Daniel, the owner, an architect's drawing. He came to the house and talked through the drawing with me and made some suggestions that I believe resulted in a better deck such as using 6x6 posts instead of the 4x4 posts shown in the drawing and running a beam between the posts to better match the design of the original deck. It took about a week to get it scheduled. They showed up each day just before 8am and worked until about 6:30 (dark) until it was completed. They are hard workers! We had a lot of rain and they worked through the lighter rain but had to stop work during the downpours. When they didn't get it completed by Friday due to the rain, they worked through the weekend and into the next week. The job went smoothly except at one point where we could see that the cross-running steps in the architect's drawing were not going to work given the narrowness of the lot. They willing tore apart what components they had installed including digging up the posts they had placed and ran the steps a different direction. I wondered how it would look matching an old deck to a new one, but they did a great job matching them together. In no place did I see them cut corners. And they were also very professional about cleaning everything up. Overall a great job! One more comment. Although Daniel is from Texas he told me spent a few years during the housing boom building houses in New York where, in my opinion. the demands for quality are probably greater than here. You can see that reflected in his work.
Description of Work: We live in a 3-story freestanding home in Rice Military that resembles a town home. The living area is on the 2nd floor where we had a small deck balcony which sits about 12 1/2 ' off the ground. We contracted with Deck-Etc. to expand that deck from 7x16 to 12x16, add a small landing and steps leading to the back yard. We asked them to reuse the existing deck framing, decking and side railings. The expansion would include the addition of 2 6x6 posts in concrete supporting 2 2x10x16 beams secured with bolts, 2x12 joists that ran from the existing joists out across the support beam secured with metal joist hangers, 2x12 face boards all the way around, 1x6 decking on the addition, a run of 17 steps supported by 4x4 posts and new railing around the new deck and steps.
