David Alvarez Sheet Metal

Initial contact required leaving a message with a woman who answered the phone. No return call. Called a approximately a week later, left another message. Mr. Alvarez returned my call and made arrangements to meet to look at damage to patio roof. Mr. Alvarez and another gentleman came out and looked at patio, promising an estimate (by email) that same day about 4pm. Mr. Alvarez requested that I email him so he would have my email address, which I did immediately upon his leaving my residence. No estimate was received that day. I sent a second email to Mr. Alvarez stating that I had not received an estimate. No response. Once again, I called Mr. Alvarez and was told he was out of town and would send the estimate when he returned to Houston. Again, nothing. My husband has since called twice, having to leave a message on both occasions as the phone was not answered. Mr. Alvarez seemed professional when he arrived at my residence and said he could repair the damage to the patio roof. I had been looking for some time for someone to do the work and was looking forward to receiving the estimate and having the repairs done.After seeing the commercials for Angie's List, I was certain I would be able to find someone reliable in my area to do the necessary repairs. I am extremely disappointed with this entire experience. I would never recommend David Alvarez Sheet Metal to anyone.

I have a 35 year old standing seam metal roof that had developed rust in a couple of areas. I wanted this resolved and wanted a ridge vent installed. Other contractors I contacted could not duplicate the material as installed (11" panels with a 1" standing seam). They advised this was "old technology" and could not be duplicated. Their alternatives would have left my roof looking like a bad patch job. David Alvarez reviewed the roof and advised it would be no problem to duplicate, offered suggestions on how to minimize the repairs, surveyed the entire roof and pointed out other potential problems and offered suggestions on maintaining the roof for years of extended life. All this brought an estimate that was a couple thousand less than the nearest competitive estimate. His lead time to start the repairs was very shot. His crew showed up on time and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. They were on site for several days and took extra care to clean the site before leaving. I am totally satisfied.

We had an out-building that was damaged. An apple tree and a pear tree fell on it. The damage was really bad and it was leaking. They were very accommodating. The work was great. They met the timeline that they told us. They fixed the shed roof; you can't tell that it was damaged at all. They repainted and matched the color perfectly. They came on top of the house and pushed all of the ribs down. They did great work.
