This was the worst experience I have had with a service provider. The crew used rags and metal scrapers to clean my windows which left the glass scratched, streaked and smeared. I called the company and complained and was told that a new crew would come out and reclean the windows the next week. The next week no one showed up. I called the company again and was told that the owner had a heart attack and that the son would research the schedule and get back with me. I heard nothing back and called again. I was told that there was no record of the company promising to come back out and clean the windows. I was totally disgusted with the lack of responsiveness and quality service. Their work is terrible and their customer service is terrible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

This was a terrible experience where an apparently ill-trained and poorly supervised crew damaged dozens of windows throughout my home. Instead of simply washing the windows with cloths or squeegees or other glass-friendly materials, as I had expected, the crew used metal scrapers that left scratches on the glass, nicked the window frames, and gouged the molding around the windows. The owner of Crystal Clear Windows promised to pay for damages but then reneged, so I was left with a $780 repair bill and had to wash the windows again after the repairs were completed.
Description of Work: I arranged with Nick Wright for window washing at my home in Magnolia on April 4, 2008. The crew arrived as planned and went to work supervised by Sonia Wright, who identified herself as Nick's wife. I had to leave home for a quick trip to the veterinarian's office. When I got back, I heard thuds and clanging around the house and discovered that the workers were using large metal scrapers on the windows. I ran to look at the windows and found that the black paint on many of the window frames had been severely nicked and that the black plastic frame molding had been badly gouged on numerous windows. I tracked down Mrs. Wright (whose main job that day seemed to be to hold the ladder for the worker cleaning the skylights) and insisted that she stop the workers from using their metal blades. She protested that the windows wouldn't come clean without scraping. When I asked why they gouged the molding around the windows, she said that her crew always scrapes around windows to remove any excess glazing. I told her that any excess had been removed when we had solar film applied to the windows several years ago. Mrs. Wright then called her husband and said he told her that I should arrange for my regular handyman to make the needed repairs. Mr. Wright confirmed that, and promised to pay for all repairs, when he met me and my handyman at my home a couple of days later to view the damage. I showed him not only the window frame nicks and molding gouges on windows throughout the house but also a torn window screen and window needing replacement because the glass had been scratched so badly. My handyman made the repairs April 9-21. I paid his bill for $780 on April 28 and then faxed a copy of the paid invoice to Mr. Wright the next day. After hearing nothing from Mr. Wright, I called him on May 30. He said he would check on the status of the payment but complained that I had not paid the $450 he had quoted in advance for the window cleaning. I told him that there is no way that I would pay for totally unsatisfactory service (especially since I had to wash the windows again after my handyman finished repairing them). After hearing nothing further for two weeks, I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau in Houston on June 16. I have received no response from the Better Business Bureau, other than the initial acknowledgment of receipt, and a check of its site shows that there was no response from the company to the complaint.
