CROSS AMERICA RELOCATION

Cross America submitted their estimate of $165 for the move. I realized their estimate was low, but they were the overall best price. I agreed to the move and received my quote of $235. This is still a good price, so I didn't raise a stink. They pick up the furniture from the girl I bought it from... and never made the delivery nor called. They rarely answer the phones. I'm not convinced that anyone even works in the customer service area. I finally got in touch with the manager, Jaycob, who explained that unfortunately they made a mistake and don't have a signed contract from me, so they wont bring the furniture to Dallas until they have it. Can you say red flag? Okay, so he never sends the contract. For four days I make a total of 13 calls. I finally got through by bypassing any of the other departments and going through sales, go figure. Anyway, after 3 fax attempts at sending me the contract the dispatcher says my fax machine is broken, despite the fact that he sent to 2 different machines. I guess none of the fax machines work in Dallas, who knew! So, then they tell me that the total cost will be $500. When I was unhappy with this I was told "If you don't like our company or the way we do business you can come to Houston and get your stuff yourself". This is a perfect representation of their people skills. After much negotiations we did get the price down. However, I was told by the guy that they made a mistake, that "quote" only means "estimate", they wouldn't have ever agreed to that, that the paper in front of me was only a one way quote, etc, etc. When the furniture was finally delivered, they were missing a piece and of course took no responsibility for that either.
