DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY This place is dishonest and is shoddy in their quality of services. I have been studying for the Texas State Bar since May 23rd, which if you know anything about, requires almost 10 hours of studying daily for over 60 days. On the day in question, I took a break and we were in the area visiting my bf's brother's family. He recommended this place to fix my broken screen and iDare2repair said they could fix it within 2 hours. I got my phone screen replaced in late May/early June, and I was given a 6 month warranty along with a free tempered glass screen. I was very pleased with my phone at first but within 24 hours my screen started going crazy. Opening apps and typing all by its self. The issue would stop when i turned the phone off and back on again so because I 1. live far and 2. WAS BUSY, i dealt with the issue because I felt like I other things to worry about. Fast forward 3 weeks and I realized that the screen to my phone had become partially detached from the body of the phone. Frustrated, I pressed the screen down to keep it from coming apart and it seemed to work temporarily. Again, I reiterate that I did not have the time to go all the way to iDare, I live 20 miles away from the store and in my mind, I was relying on their 6-month warranty to fix my phone once I took the bar at the end of July. Again, fast forward to July 18th. I woke up and my phone screen was completely black. The phone would not turn on, plugged in or not. Frustrated, I asked my boyfriend if he would be willing to take the phone to iDare for me, I knew they would fix it because of the 6 month warranty I was given on the screen. Just to make sure, I called in advance and spoke with a women (I did not get her name, my mistake) and I explained the problem. She said it didn't matter that I didn't have my warranty email (it went to spam and was automatically deleted), as long as it was the screen, they could fix it. She also mentioned that if it was the battery they would replace it at a discount. "How nice" I thought! Today, my boyfriend took my phone to the shop and they refused to repair the screen. They claim their warranty doesn't cover "wear and tear" and "drops." I never dropped my phone. The screen has been malfunctioning since the day after I got it. They claim the "evidence" of me dropping my phone is a crack on the screen protector which happened WEEKS ago, while the phone was in my purse. I don't know what kind of screen protector they use, or the quality of it, or if it had a weak spot that caused the small impact of items in my purse to crack it, but they essentially called me a liar. My boyfriend explained the entire situation to them, and even called me (on my ipad) to have me reiterate the issue, and the previous conversation with the woman on the phone. They are sticking by their false assumption that I "dropped my phone" and "broke the screen." I could have taken the screen protector off and they would have never claimed i dropped it, so how can they guarantee I dropped my phone and broke it? Additionally, they refused to give my boyfriend a printed copy of the warranty I was issued, which they have in their system. I know this because the day I left the shop the email hadn't come through, and I was told, "don't worry we have it in our system" They also refused to resend the original email as well. The best they could offer was a "discount" on a new screen. This is dishonest, just plain bad business and importantly, a potential consumer law/DTPA statutory violation. I was not asking for anything for free, I was simply asking them to honor a valid warranty I was given for a product I PAID FOR. Not only am I reporting iDare2repair to the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General of Texas, but I am also plan to file suit under the DTPA for either breach of warranty or DTPA misrepresentation. Because they refuse to furnish a copy of my warranty, they will have to partake in a costly discovery and pretrial proceeding. If that does not render them insolvent, the subsequent litigation surely will. Under the DTPA, if a consumer prevails, they will recover economic damages and attorney's fees. If the conduct is found to be committed knowingly, the consumer will also recover additional damages including those established by a "substantial disruption to the plaintiff's daily routine (ie, not having a working cell phone), and further if an intentionally finding is made, the plaintiff will recover up to three times the amount of additional and economic damages. I hope the cell phone repair business is good, because attorney's aren't cheap, and failure to file an answer to a complaint by 10 am of the Monday next after the expiration of 20 days of service will result in a default judgement in favor of the plaintiff, i.e. ME.
