Description of Work: Needed to have a missing stone replaced in a ring as well as a new clasp made for a bracelet.

Description of Work: I needed to have a special ring resized, appraised, cleaned, and checked for security of the stones. Also, I had an antique piece of costume jewelry repaired and another ring cleaned, checked, and resized.

Description of Work: Let me start by saying, I made the huge mistake of going to Zales jewelry to have my grandmothers ring repaired and cleaned. I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE. After roughly 4 weeks of trying to get the ring repaired and returned to me, they charged me $540.00 to replace two small diamonds, and 12 prongs to hold the diamonds in. It was an absolute nightmare of an experience. After getting the ring back, My grandmothers wedding ring, I gave it to my fiance'. It was much larger than she needed it to be. So I came here to Angie's List, found Correll Jewelers, and took the ring there to be re-sized, and unofficially appraised. Basically I wanted to know what kind of gold it was, 18k or 14k ect ect, and what quality of diamonds are in the ring. When I got there, the owner helped us right away. Took a look at the ring, and told me that there was repairs done recently. I explained to him what had happened, and he and his wife both shook their heads. He told me not to upset you, but I would have done that work for you for about $200.00. And it would not have taken any where near that long. I almost got sick. Afterwords, he measured my fiance's ring finger, and let us know that it could be done, but would be a little harder than normal to ensure he doesn't mess up the top of the ring. He also told us that it would be a little bit oblong for that same reason. But she would not be able to tell once the ring was on her finger. He told us it would be $70 to re-size the ring also because of the difficulty level. We agreed, 2 hours later, we returned and the ring was re-sized. He also informed us that he repaired one of the prongs that had worn down, and was not going to charge us for that. He also re-polished the ring, making it look 10 times better than it did when I picked it up from Zales. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend them to anybody, and will be returning there myself.

Description of Work: A promise ring my husband gave me over 30 years ago got caught on some metal on top of the shower stall with my finger in it. I could not get the ring off as my finger started swelling. After a trip to an emergency care the ring was cut off. I brought it to Correll Jewelers for repair. The owner was friendly and gave me an estimate and fixed it quickly. I am loving that I can wear my ring again. Very happy with this recommendation from Angie's List.

In discussing the possibility of matching a lost earring, the husband and wife both said different things. | |When I received the appraisals for the items, two of the four were 1/3 of the previously appraised value. I went to a certified gemologist and received more accurate appraisals on the two items. | |While I would not return to this jeweler for future appraisals, he was able to assist me with information regarding partial replacement of the lost earring.

Description of Work: Years ago I had to get a sentimental ring cut off my finger. They resized the ring and put it back together. It was just like new. I am so happy that I can wear it again. It was left on a Thursday and I picked it up by noon on Friday. Very happy with the work and prompt service.
