Concrete Patios Unlimited

I cannot say enough about the professionalism and quality of Leslie and his crews. His prices are fair and his estimates complete with permits, type of concrete, etc. We started by raising my garage floor that had sunk over the years and accumulated water every time it rained. It's perfect now and there has not been a drop of water in there since. Next they replaced my driveway. They took great care to make sure that there was a gentle slope away from the house and all the way to the street. Now, when we have rain, it drains perfectly. No puddles anywhere. Our pool and patio were done with a topping called boulder creation. Leslie's master of concrete stamping, Lupe, removed all of the broken patio and cut the new stamped concrete into the the pool area, so you can hardly tell where the old ends and the new begins. Once again, they took great care to make sure that there was a gentle slope away from the house and out to the driveway. We then had the guys add some more to the patio around and through some existing flower beds. Our back yard is now a showplace thanks to Leslie, Lupe and all the guys.

We received a contract from Leslie on March 20, 2013 for the work to be done. Before we signed we emailed him on Saturday April 6, 2013 with questions on the job. We told him that we were interested in moving forward with the project with his company and would like to begin the project between May 15 and May 25. We requested to meet with Mr Massingill in April 2013 to firm up plans. We gave him a sample of our brick for the wall seat and asked him to have contractors who will be relocating sprinkler system to get in contact with us. We also asked him for warranty on the work done. He told us at this time there is 90day warranty on concrete because of the nature of the item. We waited for him to contact us with the name of the sprinkler system person, but never heard anything else back from him.

Leslie came first to measure and estimate. We had lots of choices regarding looks. The contractors were friendly, prompt.

Job was done as intended, and, as promised, beautifully as well. Crew was on time, competent, polite, and job took planned 5 days of work. Cleanup was thorogh, and the attended to all the detail work that was needed. I am very pleased, and would highly recommend this comany for concrete work.

They were good. They came out on time. Their knowledge of what they do was good. They actually worked with me in changing times because there was a lot of rain that was involved, so working with them was was easy. I never got to see the owner in person but the people that he sent out did a good job. They stayed there all day. I had one guy sit there all day, watched the concrete and made sure it dried correctly. The price was good, it wasn't too high. Everything went fine. They answered when I needed them.

It was good, the gentleman came out and did a quick survey and e-mailed me a few days later with the quote. He didn't have his measuring stick with him so he kind of guess the estimate on my square footage but I thought that was kind of bad, I didn't select him anyway that was one of the competing bids I got when I was getting a deck contractor. They were very responsive. The guy comes out, give you a quote, speaks clearly, I don't know how to judge that unless they did some work for you. I would use them for another bid, but for work I'm not sure.

Leslie from Concrete Patios Unlimited was great, very personable. His quote was just a little too high. If I had a little more money to spend on that project, I would absolutely use him.

Was scheduled last week. Contractor canceled and rescheduled for 6/6 at 4 pm (he says 5). Phoned just before 4:15, said he would come between 5:30 and 6:00. At 6:30 when he didn't show up I called him. He said he wasn't going to be able to make it and could we reschedule. No. I can't reschedule. Thanks anyway. Service providers need to be up front about thier timeline. To leave me a voice message saying he would be here between 5:30 and 6:00, and then just not show up...

This project was intended to change the wall on which my garage door was facing and reclaim backyard-space (effectively doubling the backyard in size). This involved tearing out part of the old driveway, cutting new space for/moving/framing the garage door, installing a new driveway, and moving an electrical box. The project was originally quoted at $11,300 and was to include all of the above tasks. After a minor scuffle with Leslie, myself, and the city (which was amicably resolved between Leslie and myself), we agreed to new terms, which was to cover changing the electrical, and installing the new driveway/connecting to the old one. I had to handle the other tasks. Leslie was highly available and capable of answering my calls, especially once the work had started. The first work involved moving the electrical box. There were no problems and the electrical contractors were highly professional and did quality work. Following, Leslie went to get a permit for the garage and driveway. We had an issue with permitting for the garage, due to a requirement for architectural plans, which were not included in the original estimate (but the cost of permits were). This caused the problem, which would have cost an additional amount for the plans. Leslie does concrete primarily -- so not knowing this was a minor mishap, but it had the opportunity to bring the entire project down. I was furious, since I hadn't worked with Leslie before, and there was a chance he could be some fly-by-night business (my experience has shown he is not). However, every failure is an opportunity to succeed -- so I had to calm myself down and try to figure out what Leslie COULD do, since he already had a significant down payment. We resolved that, rather than handling the garage construction, I would handle that myself, in addition to handling the concrete removal of the old driveway. The cost of the updated project was $8,100 (rather than $11,300). I felt this was a good price and I ended out ahead because of it. Leslie then had contractors out to build/dig the foundation of the new driveway. The guys worked really hard -- we had some rain and they did everything they could to get things done. They kept the yard pretty clean, as well as the street. We had some more issues, due to the city (again) changing requirements (literally just three weeks prior) and wanting a different "slope" on the driveway. I ended up having to stay home and meet the inspector on his fourth visit, and tell him I was OK with the slope (an inch raised for every foot laterally was apparently "not good" for him). He signed off on it and we were ready to push forward and finish up. Had to wait one day in between, due to rain, but the following day, Leslie had guys pumping water out of the remaining driveway approach, so that we could pour concrete. The work was completed and remaining area was "closed off" with warning/caution tape and the street/yard was cleaned. Leslie stopped by the following day for the final check for the remaining amount of money that was owed to him for the job. He gave recommendations on to when I would be able to use the driveway and how long to wait for it to cure. Overall, I was pleased with the work done, and despite the issues, I felt that Leslie worked very hard to come to an amicable solution, especially when facing several obstacles.

His subs were very professional and did a great job. He poured concrete on Tuesday and came back on Saturday to build out the patio cover. He completed the patio cover in 7 hours and it looks great!. His painters came on Monday and painted it to match my house perfectly. It looks like it was there since the house was built. The outdoor kitchen is now installed and it looks great. I am very pleased with the end result and would hire Leslie again in the future.

Company responded to my first call, and scheduled appt to view and quote on job. They did not show up, and did not call or reschedule.

I had a section of my driveway re-done. It involved removing the old concrete and re-pouring a length approximately two car lengths long and 1 wide (size of a full single driveway). Leslie met with me before the job and talked over all the details. I wanted to make sure the re-done section would match the existing in style and also had to have some of the sprinklers re-done to accommodate the modification. Leslie listened to everything, explained what he would do and took all the measurements. When it came time for the actual work, his employees were efficient and professional and cleaned up the site nicely afterwards. Leslie stopped by during and after the job to see that it was going well and done properly. Afterwards, he explained how long to wait before using it and answered any last questions I had. The sprinkler work was done well also. Works properly and looks good. Through the process, Leslie was very easy to get in contact with and stopped by the house when I had a question even if it was late in the day. I was very happy with his professionalism and the work done and plan on contacting him again when I have more work to do.

Great experience. Came on time for the survey, quotation delivered on time, reasonable price. Workers showed up on time, did good work, clean and neat, no issues. Concrete poured on schedule. Minor modifications to gate over the driveway were done to allow free swinging, this was not discussed or covered by the bid but they did the work anyway. Excellent job, very happy.

Another bid was more completive and just as through and they were selected to do the work.

The work turned out beautifully, and we are very satisfied and would recommend Concrete Patios Unlimited to anyone. Leslie was a delight to work with, very patient and understanding. It was wonderful to see the owner so closely involved in a small job.

Leslie and his team were a joy to work with. They will definitely be doing all other projects that I want done to my house. Everything was finished in the exact time frame he gave and to the exact dollar amount he gave. The only surprise was how beautiful it looked when finished!

Prompt and prefessional. Work was performed as advertized and debris removed. Concrete was allowed to dry for 3 days. Minor adjustment to gate was quickly addressed. Very satisfied.

A + Experience from start to finish.

Mr. Massingill showed up for the estimate at the agreed time. I received a bid within 48 hours as promised. About two weeks later after getting other bids I accepted his offer. He was not the lowest, but he was well within the range of the other bids. I accepted his bid over a lower comparable one because he listened to what I wanted. The crew showed up as promised. I was notified when they encountered a problem, which was solved by ordering different equipment. Although the pouring of the concrete was delayed by half a day because of the unforeseen circumstances, everything went really well. My driveway and patio areas are beautiful. I was kept informed, the crew was pleasant, and the job was performed as advertised.

It didn't go at all. No work was performed. No estimate was ever given. Contacted company by phone based on Angie's List reviews on Wed. Left message. Was called back.Discussed project. Was told that the house would be visited on Friday. Did not have to be at home. Waited until the next Wed without hearing anything. Called company. Left message. Was called back. Was told that something came up and he was 2-3 hrs out of town. Indicated he would come by on "Friday". It's now next Wed, and have heard nothing yet. Have no plans to contact company again. I can handle delays and things that come up, but to not show up and not provide an explanation why there was no show, tells me there is no interest on the project.

Leslie was on time to give me an estimate which ended up less than I expected. So much so that I was able to increase the area I wanted stamped and poured. The crew showed up a day early and had the framing done that day. This was very labor intensive as I had alot of brick and flagstone to be relocated and stacked. The next day they poured and stamped all the patio and walkways. The last day they were coloring and sealing everything and by that evening I was walking on a beautiful patio and walkways. The team and Leslie were friendly and professional. Leslie has been by a couple of times since completion just to make sure all is right and I am happy with the job. I recommend them highly on price, professionalism, and quality.

He was very professional and quoted a great price! He actually showed me some of his work before I decided to go with him so I went with him after I saw his work. He makes the work he does look like it already came with your house, it is blended well, he is also a very nice guy and he bent over backwards to get things done for my project! He poured some extra concrete for me and did a few other things that he didn't charge me for. I have already recommend him!

The job was completed in three days. The concrete left to "cure" for 72 hours that was followed up by clean-up.

Everything went as scheduled and was done very professionally.
