Complete Remodling of Houston

I had some recent major repairs done to my home and that company sub-contracted the drywall work to Complete Remodeling of Houston (CRH). CRH did a good job on the repair and I asked Adrian if he could help out with some other things. He stated it would be about $1500 for what I was asking, I asked when he could start and he stated on Friday 5/25/2012, I explained that my family is moving and when we needed the repairs done by. On Friday 5/25/2012 I call Adrian and asked where the crew was he said he had some guys call-in sick and he was behind, but the crew would come out on Tuesday 5/29/2012. Adrian called back and asked if Monday 5/28/2012 (Memorial Day) would be fine, I stated yes. Monday comes along and nobody shows up, Tuesday at around 12:30 I call Adrian and leave a voicemail, he calls back 30 minutes later, no message. I called him back once and left a message and another time but did not leave a message. I have received no further calls from Adrian or Complete Remodeling of Houston. If you are counting on these guys, don't they will leave you high and dry. Now I am stuck scrambling to find another person that has time in their schedule to complete repairs in less than a week. I did not try to negotiate a lower rate, get time and materials, etc. I would have paid anything that was reasonable.

Upon the initial appointment, Adrian arrived at 5:30 (he had told me he'd be here in the afternoon, 1st problem). He cleaned up the sink and reattached the sink and said he would be back tomorrow to finish. He arrived after 5:00, again. They worked through dinner and I paid him cash and gave his help tips. Within a week, the sink had fallen out. On Saturday, I texted him and he said he would be back on Monday. At 6:00 I called and texted him and got no reply. I texted and called him on Tuesday and he texted me he would be back on Wednesday at 4:00. At 4:30 I texted, no answer, 5:00, there was a call, and another text and call. I told him all I wanted was a yes or no was he coming back!!! He never responded. DO NOT hire him. He is a good talker but, no quality.

Adrian worked hard to win the bid for this project into late night. His price was a little higher than the other bid. He convinced me that he could do the job and we set up a 2nd walk to make sure he understood what I needed within the budget and timeline. I agreed to pay the premium price because he sold me on the fact that he has a good reputation in the community for good quality work and the fact that he could do the job within the timeline I requested. Adrian and his crew started out really quick and furious and within a few days, there were lots of progress. I made the first of three payment to him and everything moved along until my 2nd payment. His crew started to dwindle down and his crew skipped days showing up. On the deadline date they were not finished with the to-do list of things that he & I walked the property and agreed upon. Two days pass the deadline they are still working on the project and Adrian told me he ran out of budget. He did not clean up the trash that's on the bid contract and told me that he has underbid the job. He told me he could have someone help me out with the trash removal for additional money but I still have not heard anything on this either. I paid him in full for the work he did and entrusting him live up to his reputation. #1 - Not good on his bid and stick to the budget and went over 1 week over the deadline. #2 - His titling work in my jacuzzi tub is less than professional work. They are uneven, bumpy and the grout cracks even after 3 fixes.The tiles/grout were not sealed. #3 -He has not return my request to fix the bad grout job.

His team arrived the first day of work on time and worked through the day. Same with the second day. No problems there. The issues started when we reviewed the work that they did. The floor, while level, has some spots that you walk on and can feel the laminate sink to the concrete. In addition, another edge of the laminate was broken and popping up, some of the T-molding was not the right color and some of the laminate pieces were bad but had been installed anyway. Adrian met with me and agreed on the changes for the T-molding, broken/bad pieces and the one that was popping up. He did not agree on the floor leveling issue. His crew showed up and fixed the bad pieces. For the one that was popping up, they used a nail gun to shoot into the concrete slab and hold the laminate down. Then they stained the board to cover up the nails. They pulled up the T-molding that was the wrong color and said they would get more. At this point, the floor was left without the T-molding joining the laminate to the linoleum in my kitchen for 1.5 months. During this time frame, I repeatedly called Adrian and sent text messages trying to get the issue resolved. Adrian set up two appointments with me to finish it, both of which I had to take leave from work for, and he never showed or called to tell me he would not show. Finally, on Angie's List, I saw the other review with a different phone number. When I called that number, I talked to Shannon, who was recently hired by Adrian to help him manage his jobs. I told her all of this information and she told me that she never knew about my issues. She was very nice, understanding and helpful. She told me that I would hear from Adrian that evening, and I did. His crew showed up about a week later and they finished the job. Although the T-molding is not the right color and some of the T-molding is already coming up from the floor. Adrian comes across as a vary amiable guy and knowledgeable. I do believe that he knows what he is doing and has a decent crew, however, his time management skills are terrible. He does not return phone calls. On some occasions, you call his cell phone and it goes straight to voice mail, then you are told that the voice mailbox is full so you can't leave a message. Shannon is trying to fix this and she is the only reason I was able to get this done. I hope that she continues to help this business. It is too late for me though. I am not dealing with this again. He did all of this when I had already talked to him about putting in tile, french doors, redo cabinets and put a slab in the back yard. These were good projects that were his if he would have done a good job with me on the laminate but now I have to find another contractor.

We hired Complete Remodeling of Houston to add a covered patio on the back of our house. When I made the initial call to schedule an appointment Adrian was very friendly and showed up promptly for our appointment. After my husband and I explained what we were wanting to accomplish with this project Adrian went above and beyond by making suggestions and explaining in detail how he would do the work. He explained to us that all of his crew work only for him and he does not sub anything out. They are also bonded and insured which made us even more comfortable. The job was started on time, his workers showed up every morning at exactly the same time, were dressed neatly and were very polite. At the end of each day they cleaned up the debris from the day including checking my yard for any nails or sharp objects so my children and dogs would not be injured. We are so very pleased with the end result and have referred Adrian to many friends and neighbors! We look forward to working with him when we paint the exterior of our home next month and then add a full bathroom upstairs.
