Competition Pools quote was very good and work started immediately to tear out the old tile and plaster. Brad is a truly great person to work with and his expirnce brought the rebuild on time. I have used his company before on pump and filter issues and I have complete trust in him. I know when I call Brad with a problem, he will immediately solve it

I have had them come in the past and was satisfied as they always took care of the problem and are nice and knowledgeable. That has since changed. Every year I have a hose that breaks on my booster pump and pay $50 for a new one at Leslies. This year when it broke I replaced it then a week later it popped off so I called Competition to fix it. They told me the old owner did some DIY stuff poorly and without re-plumbing some things this would continue. I chose to have them re-plumb the pool and asked that they add a check valve since my heater is end of life and I plan to get a new one. After it was done and they left I noticed the hose I had just purchased was no longer in use. I emailed and asked where it was. I was told they took it as it was no longer needed. I told them I wanted it back so I could return it. I was met with a response telling me that Leslie's won't accept returns like that. Well, that's not really the point, I'm not in business of giving free pool parts to Competition Pool and Spa,. They told me they would bring it back. They didn't so when the bill came I paid it minus $50 and put a note that they would get the rest of the money when the hose was returned. They continue to bill me for $50. They can make things right with me still if they choose. My other issue is with the check valve they added. I have had 3 pool companies tell me when giving heater estimates that the check valve they installed for $75 is not the correct one and the new heater will not be covered under warranty with the one that is there because it has metal parts in it. I would be weary if it was one person who said it, but it's 3. So now I am out another $75 because of Competition Pool and Spa. They are free to reach out to me to make things right, but it is 3 months later and they don't seem interested.

My old pool needs to be resurfaced and retiled and possible recopying. Even thought the project estimated to be done in Fall 2017 , I prefer to have quotes and decide which vendor I am going with as soon as I have the quotes to compare. On 8/9/17 I sent the message requesting for quote to this vendor via Angie List message, but never get reply until now.

I have had a very bad experience with a crook in the unregulated swimming pool industry, so I thought it went great. I'm very picky about having nice, straight tile and Brad's guys were very good. And as I said, the overall transformation is fantastic. You would never know the pool had not originally been built like it is. We did have a couple of small issues, but Brad was quick to come out himself and take care of them. If I have any complaint, it is with the sealer used on the flagstone. I think too much was used, then something else was used to cut it down which left a white, powder like finish. So although I'm thrilled with the pool, I was expecting more from the deck. However, with the service provided, the creativity Brad showed, and the fact that Brad requires no money until AFTER the work is performed, I'm still giving them an A.

I only have two negatives and the rest are all positives with Competition Pool and Spa Services Ltd. Brad is the gentleman that we dealt with, and he never did give to me a copy of their insurance which I asked him for, and we still have not received a copy of our warranty. We got a nice ten year warranty, and it's written on the proposal, but I don't have a separate copy of it. We have requested it again but we still haven't received it, and that's obviously pretty darn important at this point. But other than that, him, his crew, his contractors, they came in and they did a good job, etc. Brad was a little hard to get a hold of sometimes, but I would recommend their work. One thing that kind of shocked me to be honest was that so many of the companies that we did receive quotes from wanted the money upfront, but Competition Pool and Spa Services Ltd. didn't want any money until they finished, which is unusual for what we were getting. He stayed with it, he came by and tested the water, and until he turned it over to us he was still working on getting the water pH correct. He gave us a couple of verbal quotes and he was right on with that; it was exactly what he charged. So really, the only negatives are that he's a little hard to get a hold of, and the liability issue of the insurance, which I guess isn't really an issue anymore since the job is done, but I really want my warranty. I wouldn't give them an A overall because I can't say that I am completely satisfied until I have my warranty in hand. I can't give them an A when I don't have what I want. I felt that the price was very good based on the other quotes that we got. It was comparable to the other companies'. I would use them again, but if I did I would probably hold my check until I received my warranty.

Their work was excellent. The work cost me about $5000. Overall, I had a great experience dealing with them. I’ll use them again in the future.

The work itself went well; however, Competition Pool and Spa has never returned a phone call or email since the work was done. We are having problems with the heater and Competition will not return our calls or emails. Buyer beware!

The quoting process was efficient and professional with all of the work detail included on the proposal. Although the work was approved 1/10, the weather went bad and then we left for vacation. When we returned on the 27th we called to let Brad know we were in town and his crew arrived on the 30th. The crew arrived on time and went to work quickly. They were a well organized and a smooth operating team obviously used to working without a whole lot of supervision. The process took several days to let first the grout and then the plaster dry sufficiently to take the next step. Once the pool was refilled Brad returned to do the initial set up providing all of the chemicals. Although we had been instructed to "brush down the plaster" he returned 2 times and did it himself. He treated it once more and asked me to have the water checked. It was perfect.

I had a hard time finding a recommendation for this repair need, and I was glad to have Angie's List as a source for this specialized problem. I was happy with the service and I would recommend them. The price seemed reasonable.

WAS VERY GOOD. THE PERFORMED THE WORK VERY QUICKLY. HE GAVE ME MULTIPLE OPTIONS AND BROKE DOWN THE PRICING SO I COULD DECIDE WHETHER TO HAVE ALL THE WORK DONE OR JUST PART OF IT.

BRAD QUICKLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, AND WHEN A NEW, UNKNOWN AND UNSEEN PROBLEM APPEARED ONCE HE GOT THE PUMP APART, HE KEPT ME INFORMED, ORDERED THE PART, AND CAME BACK LATE SATURDAY TO FINISH THE JOB. HE DID GREAT WORK FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE NEEDING POOL SERVICE.

EXCELLENT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL SERVICE IN ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR SERVICE TO US. WORK WAS DONE ON TIME. WORK AREA WAS CLEANED UP PERFECTLY. OWNER OF COMPANY WAS PROMPT IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND ADDRESSING ANY QUESTIONS. WE DID THE POOL FIRST AND THEN WENT BACK TO HIM FOR THE PATIO WORK BECAUSE HE HAD DONE SUCH A GREAT JOB.
