They sent a really professional guy who took the time to examine the whole system and explained the issue in a very clear manner. They also provided amazing maintenance tips. We requested the service by phone and were serviced the next day, as they were very understanding of the urgency.

Comfort Star did a great job from start to finish. I actually selected another vendor initially that came in a bit cheaper, but they were unable to get the equipment from the distributor. Comfort Star was the next best price, and was able to get the equipment (Bryant instead of Carrier, but they took off a few bucks as Bryant is usually 5-10% cheaper). Working with Habib was great, he was very responsive and attentive, and not at all pushy. The team nearly replaced both full systems (attic evaporator, gas furnace, outside condenser) in 1 day, but got held up by the rain and came back the next morning to finish. When the previous thermostats did not work, they came back right away to install the new ones once I had them ready. Habib managed the city inspection and it passed with no issue. Overall a great experience, and I will use Comfort Star again in the future.

A/C was not cooling as it should. The technician assessed the unit and determined that there was an air leak in the air handling unit, compounded by a lack of refrigerant. The work was thoroughly explained and the cost for each item detailed. The work was done promptly and the measurements prior to and after were shown to me. They did it right the first time for an affordable price

My AC stopped cooling so I called my home service warranty (Choice home Warranty), they sent out a Technician I paid my $40 fee, the technician said the coil need to be replaced and maybe the outside unit, the technician called Home Choice and told them of the problem and sent photos, they claimed the leak is caused by corrosion and they refused to pay anything, The tech. said his cant be because the Coil is aluminum and does not rust, to make story short they refused to pay anything, after that I contacted three AC companies for estimates, each told different things from adding Freon to replacing the whole system, then a friend recommend Comfort Star, in two days I had the coil replaced and my AC working perfectly for a very reasonable price, every one in that company was processional and courteous . I would recommend Comfort Star to anyone having AC problems.

I have used several AC companies over the years and I must say that Comfort Star is BY FAR the BEST I have ever used. They are prompt, courteous, professional and extremely easy to work with. Their work is impeccable. I highly recommend Comfort Star and refer them every chance I get.

I requested multiple quotes, and Habib's quote was the most competitive. Not only were his costs competitive, but he also demonstrated the greatest level of expertise. I met Habib and his team about 5 years ago. I just bought a house and the AC went out the weekend I moved in the middle of Summer. I found him through my home warranty. They came right away and had my AC fixed in no time. There is always something that the home warranty programs do not cover so Habib worked with me so I didn't have to come up with so much out of pocket money. He gave me a price for the parts that I really could afford. Even though I still have a home warranty program I don't use them for my AC services anymore. I rather pay full price and call Comfort Star directly because I trust them and the price is always right. They also do my twice a year maintenance so they can catch an issue before it becomes an issue.

In the interest of disclosure, I previously wrote a review under similar circumstances. This is a new review for new services. The technician for this appointment was young, but very thorough, and he had to come back to make repairs after parts were ordered. It took him a couple of days to fully complete the furnace repairs, but we are very happy with the work and his professionalism. I've really seen a change in the quality of this provider since my last review. I'm glad to say we had an excellent experience.

It went really well. They did a lot of work for $190. They had all kinds of parts. They stayed for 2 or 3 hours and did a fantastic job.

Habib and his crews are extremely professional, they were able to install our new Bryant A/C and Furnance system within 1/2 day, even with the cramped quarters of our attic! Habib and his crews have always been very responsive to our needs, and the couple of times I've needed their assistance with the system, they've come to our rescue quickly and without issue or complaint. I highly recommend Comfort Star, they are an excellent establishment.

We purchase a new house and three AC Contractors came up to inspect and give an estimation to replace the unit.The first two companies gave me a quote of 7500$ as the unit need to be replaced. Where Comfort Star was so honest and were able to fix my current AC unit and saved me all the money.It is very rare to find an honest company where they look after their clients.Their technician was so polite, clean and on time.I would definitely recommend this company to all my friends.

Comfort Star was dispatched to us through our home warranty (OneGuard) when the leaking started. Comfort Star had previously come to our house for problems with the A/C on three occasions in the last year. The technician who arrived immediately told me that the repairs weren't covered by the warranty, and was unaware that his company had serviced our unit in the past FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. This occurred before he saw the problem or the unit, and when I told him that his company had serviced the unit before, he never apologized for his attitude. At the end of the repairs, he wasted half an hour of my time lecturing me on how we needed to buy a new unit ASAP (to the tune of $8000) because only his company would help me cheat our warranty provider out of some money to help pay for it. Overall, I don't know if the repairs are quality - only time will tell. I am writing this review to warn others of the unprofessional and substandard behavior you can expect from the technicians.

My original review on Comfort Star A/C and Habib was written in 2010 although I started using them in 2008. I am compelled to write more about this company. They are still AWESOME after all these years. Comfort Star is the only A/C company in Houston as far as I am concerned.

Went the weekend without AC called Comfort Star on Monday to find out if the service man found anything out. Under warranty or not we need AC. Day 5 no AC, Called Comfort Star on Tuesday and was told they would call the service man and call me back shortly. Waited 4 hours and called them back. Told again they were looking into it. Day 6 no AC, will be calling Comfort Star in the am. It will be the last call.

I discovered that my 16 year old AC outside unit had completely destroyed itself on a Sunday afternoon. I called Comfort Star to leave a message but Habib, the owner, called me back immediately and set up an appointment for the next day. He sent out Edgar (manager) the next day to survey the damage and give an estimate. Edgar said he could got our AC replaced and running in 2 days. But because we never had adequate air conditioning on our second floor, I asked about reducting and upgrading to a better unit. So Edgar gave me several options, and Habib came out to plan the reducting and be sure we were going to be satisfied with the proposed job and the price. I was happy with Habib's plans. The crew showed up the next day on time and began work. We had AC the next day! And the job was completed the following day. Very professional and no mess left behind. Habib told us in advance that balancing the air flow to all the rooms might take several trips. Habib was very responsive to our requests to tweak the air flow in the upstairs rooms even when it required adding a new duct and vent (at no additional cost). After the new AC fan was installed in the attic, there was a vibration in the master bedroom closet. Edgar came back twice to fix the problem and when that didn't work, he just replaced the fan. Problem solved! Five months later, the thermostat lost connection with the outside unit. I called Habib who again was very responsive. But because it was too cold outside, Edgar told me he couldn't diagnose the problem until the weather warmed up. As soon as the temperature was high enough, Edgar came out and after spending several hours at my house, discovered that the problem was the wire between the AC unit and the house had corroded away because the builder had failed to insulate the wire which was buried underground. Edgar and crew, nevertheless, dug up the old wire and strung new, insulated wire and got the unit back online. And Habib didn't charge me for all that work! I will definitely continue to use Comfort Star for all my AC and heating needs.

During a weekly cleaning I noticed what I thought was dust on my A/C vents. It was NOT dust, it was mold. Upon further inspection, I realized there was mold spores all over my air vent and inside the duct. I called Comfort Star on Wednesday afternoon. They sent someone on Thursday morning, and then did all the work necessary on Friday morning. They replaced the problem evaporator coil and plenum, and then pulled out all the affected duct work and vents that showed any sign of mold. They sent a crew out that did the work quickly, efficiently, and then cleaned up afterwards. From start to finish, it was an absolute professional job!

Originally, my home warranty company sent out Comfort Star to find and fix a Freon leak on a Wednesday. To my amazement, the Comfort Star offices called me within an hour of the home warranty order being put out and said they had an opening that afternoon. Awesome! Oscar came out and was very nice, helpful, and thorough, and took the time to help me understand what he was doing. In addition to identifying the Freon leak issue, due to our conversation about how wacky the A/C had been since we moved into the house, unlike the other two A/C repairmen that had been out over the past 6 months, he started poking around to see what else wasn't working and might be causing the A/C problems. After a lot of testing, up and down the stairs, etc. he realized that the zoning wasn't working how it should be and we were getting air in zone 1 even if it was off. Once it was identified that the damper was not closing all the way, he left and reported back to the home warranty that the coil needed to be replaced due to the leak (I'd end up having to pay $260 out of pocket) and the damper wasn't working properly. Unfortunately the damper wasn't covered by my home warranty, but Habib the owner of Comfort Star got me a quote within 24 hours. Due to the needing to come in to the distributor, I didn't think the work would get done that week, but this seems normal. On Friday, to my delight, the Comfort Star offices called to say they had the coil in and had an opening to come that afternoon. Awesome! - but what about the add-on damper project that we had agreed upon the night before. Would those parts be ready, could it really be done 2 1/2 days after finding the original problem? Yes - they came that afternoon and did both the home warranty and add-on project. For the first time in 8 months of living in our home, the A/C system is actually working how it is supposed to! Comfort Star was easy to work with, very responsive, and had availability to get the job done fast. Let's just say when the home warranty company sends someone out, the expectation bar is low but my husband and I were wow-ed all the way through. Comfort Star really delivered and I'd definitely recommend!

I had some exact specifications on materials and installation and the company owner, Habib Khoury, was most cooperative in working with my specifications. When we discussed where I wanted to have an outside fresh air intake vent installed, Habib pointed out the vent would be too close to the rear of my garage where car exhaust could rise to the vent and possibly contaminate the interior air of my house. I was impressed with his attention to detail. His installation team was timely and professional and the install went well. There was one part of the installation that needed to be re-worked and Habib went the extra mile to make sure the work was corrected in a manner acceptable to me and without any inconvenience and expense to me. I believe Habib is honest. He has the highest integrity, best intentions and follow-through to perform top-notch work for his customers. I give him and his company my highest recommendation.

This repair was initiated through my home warranty company. Normally, the service provider sent by the warranty company is in and out in as little time as possible. That was NOT the case with Comfort Star. They treated me just like they would any other customer. They tested the unit, replaced parts and eventually fixed the problem. Overall, I am very satisfied with Comfort Star. They were very professional. They fixed the problem. And they offered me advice and explained the issues to me very well. As a new homeowner (about a year and a half), this was appreciated. Price: N/A. This was a warranty repair so I am unsure how much the repair would have cost. Quality: B. The reason I am give Comfort Star a 'B' is because it took 3 different visits to correct the problem. On the first visit, I was told that the pressure switch was not working. They had to order the part because my furnace had an unusual pressure switch. The order took a few days. In the meantime, the furnace worked for a day and a half. The tech cleaned the faulty pressure switch and that seemed to make it work temporarily. When the tech came back a few days later, he replaced the faulty pressure switch. Again, that seemed to work for a day and a half or so. Then, the furnace stopped working again. Finally, on the third visit, a different technician came out, ran more tests and determined that the pressure switch was not the problem. The main circuit board was faulty. Fortunately, the tech went to his truck and was able to track down a replacement part only 3 miles away! He drove and picked it up, brought it back and replaced the part. He did a number of tests after the replacement to ensure the unit was working properly. After that the furnace has worked great. For all the other categories, Comfort Star was an A+. They quickly returned my calls, worked me into their schedule and arrived on time. I would recommend Comfort Star. If you have a warranty repair, you should cross your fingers and hope they Comfort Star gets the call. If I need a repair or service outside of the home warranty, Comfort Star will be near the top of my list.
