I initially made a reservation to have grout cleaning done in my 4th floor condo in Galveston. We discussed the need for an interior machine to do the job and it was decided that was needed. We also discussed prices and approximate square footage needed. I set up the appointment for March 18 and took a day off from work to meet the Coit in Galveston. The day prior to my appointment, I received a reminder call from Coit and again discussed the need for an interior machine to do this job. It was acknowledged. At that time, the customer service rep stated that there was a $250 minimum charge. Since the quote was for 65 cents per foot and I had no more than 300 sq ft of cleaning to do, I was annoyed that I wasn't informed of this initially. The customer service rep told me that they do many small jobs and they usually waive the fee so I should talk to the technician . We agreed to go through with the appointment. Appointment day arrived, the technician called prior to his arrival and informed me he did not have an interior cleaning machine on his truck. I explained to the tech that after two confirmations on this interior machine necessity, how could he not have the equipment? I took a day off from work to meet with Coit and now they didn't even have the proper equipment with them. He offered to come by anyway and at least measure and give the final estimate. I allowed this. When he arrived, we discussed the lack of equipment, my inconvenience of taking a day off from work for this, and the fact they didn't even come prepared. He then estimated approximately 233 feet of cleaning, but when he gave me the estimate, there was a minimum charge of $250 plus a $25 service charge added. I told him this was nohwhere near the initial quote of 65 cents per foot for grout cleaning and asked him to waive the $250 minimum at the least. He declined. I then asked him if I added grout sealing onto the service, which was $1.20 per square foot, that would bring my total over the $250 minimum so why not do that. He told me he couldn't do that. That service would cost me approximately $500. He suggested that if I was unhappy, I should contact management but there was nothing he could do since by this time it was after 5 pm and the coit offices were closed. The following day, I contacted Coit to complain about this debacle, and they told me no managers were available. I was to leave a voicemail and would hear from them. I did. Now a week later and still no return call from Coit. This is no way to do business. Even if the quote given me on the date I booked the job was correct, they failed to show up with the necessary equipment. On both aspects, they failed. I will NEVER do business with a this company in the future.

The drapes are about 25 years old. They were returned in excellent condition and very clean. The on site cleaning of the valances was executed efficiently and well. The drapes were re-hung and look great. The representatives were on time and professional.

Someone came the first day with a 5 ft ladder. I had told them one of the draperies were for a 2 story room (about 28 feet). We made a second date. The draperies had mostly dust, not stains. They came with a spray bottle they called dry-cleaning and a large truck vaccuum and did a poor job. The top of the draperies that I could see had a large amount of dust left on them when they left . They left the draperies in worse condition in the bedroom. I spent about 1 hour myself cleaning the top of they bedroomn drapery and tacking it back on. I expect that

I returned from work Tuesday to the smell of cat pee on the area rug in my living room, which had seeped through and discolored the hard wood flooring. I manually cleaned Tuesday evening including a steam mop. I called on Wednesday to schedule an appointment ASAP, was told that this would require a cost estimate first, and that the first available appointment was Friday but not given a time. I was told to expect a phone call and/or email to give me a 2 hour appointment window, and at that time I could either accept or reschedule. I never received the call or email on Thursday. On Friday at 8:30am I was contacted and asked if I would be ready in 30 min, to which I was not able on short notice. I was then called at 1:30pm (even though we had agreed to wait until Saturday) and given another 30 min estimate to show up. Knowing that the first window for repairs could take place as early as Saturday, I felt obligated to show up. When Saeed arrived at my house he only needed 2 seconds to identify that if the wood changes color (darkened) then there is no cleaning that could remedy the situation, only a full replacement. The floorboards were darkened the first time I saw them Tue evening, and could have easily answered this had I been asked over the phone, but instead I had to waste 1 hr 20 min in round-trip driving for a 3 min discussion. I still need the area rug cleaned, but am so disappointed with COIT and their representatives that I shall never use their services and will emphatically discourage anyone else from hiring them!!

The first time they showed up, I thought the furniture cleaning went fine. As for the duct cleaning, I noticed that not all the vent screws had been removed. Since I paid per vent, I wanted all the vents done. I also suspected no one went into the attic to check the AC. (The door had not been moved. There is a problem with it so I would have known). The dryer was still not drying any better, so I felt the service man did not do a very good job. When I called the owner and complained, the service man called me personally and accused me of not knowing what I was talking about ( Intimidation I certainly did not appreciate. I reported him to the owner Robert Gonzales immediately.) Mr. Gonzales was very sorry for the event and wanted to please his customer so he sent out another service man who redid the entire house from the start and completed the job to my satisfaction. I would like to thank Mr. Gonzales for professionally handling the problem and finishing the job properly without hassle on my part.

the technician came to the house. He gave an estimate but said he could not clean the air ducts because he did not have a ladder long enough to reach the ceiling in one room. He blamed their office staff for not asking about high ceilings. He said he would call back to arrange a time to return and perform the service. After 4 days of waiting I called the Coit office and asked to have the technician call me. The Coit office said they would give the message to the technician. The technician or anyone else from Coit never called back.

It was a pleasant experience...beginning to end.
Description of Work: We had the carpet throughout our house cleaned...it was extremely dirty. The technician gave us the estimate and then went right to work. He sprayed the really bad stains, then cleaned the entire house. He was efficient and very thorough. The carpet looked amazing when he was finished. We had cleared most of the furniture out of the rooms, but he moved the pieces we left and then put them back in place. We will definitely use this company again.

We recently had a horrible experience dealing with COIT for tile and grout cleaning, carpet and air duct cleaning and experienced a complete failure of services provided and a lack of professionalism by their management team. Please keep in mind that of the three crews scheduled to come out, none arrived during their scheduled time. Air Ducts: scheduled the tech for a Friday morning, tech arrived Friday afternoon and after inspecting the HVAC system told us he could not do the work because of some fiberglass insulation issue and recommended a company to do the work. We do not have fiberglass insulation and were confused by his recommendation. 30 minutes after leaving our house, he calls saying he has leftover equipment from another job and he can do the work for free. Sounded fishy so we decided to deal with that after the tile and carpets were cleaned. Carpets: we had two bedrooms cleaned and they look dingier than before. The techs were banging their hoses and equipment on everything, hitting baseboards and furniture. The tech left the cleaning nozzle on the floor in the bedroom and it melted the synthetic berber carpet in three areas. Tile and Grout: paid to have the grout cleaned, patched and sealed in kitchen and bathrooms. We normally clean the grout by hand but figured their equipment could do a much better job. Boy were we wrong. After they finished cleaning, they started their sales pitch on the color match product. It essentially paints your grout lines. They were showing us where the grout had stains that didn’t come out with the cleaning, but while it was still wet so we had no idea what the end result was really going to look like and were not convinced enough to go ahead with the purchase. The tech then started sealing the grout even though it was still soaking wet (which is not protocol). There were holes in the grout all over the kitchen and bathrooms that needed to be patched and they informed us that they needed to run to home depot to buy the grout and asked us what color it was—no one told us the cleaning would create holes in the grout and not only were the techs unprepared, they blamed not having the grout color on the sales guy saying he didn’t have it on our order form. After an unsuccessful run to home depot, the techs said that someone else would have to come out to finish the job. In the time it took for the techs to go on the grout run, the grout had a chance to dry some more. At this point we became extremely concerned because grout that was unsoiled prior to the cleaning had turned brownish and dirty; grout in no-traffic areas was dirtier than when we started. Additionally, the water s platter from the equipment left our stainless steel appliances stained with chemical spots all over! We shared our concerns with the techs and agreed to follow up with a manager. My husband spoke with Robert Gonzales and explained the situation. At first, he was friendly and seemed like he wanted to help solve our problem. He said he would send his best tech out to look at the issues and that the tech would be at our home that Monday before noon. By 11 on Monday there was no word from COIT and no one had showed at our house, we called and learned that the tech would be by after an appointment which would put him at our house after 2. We had appointments we had to keep and after being promised that someone would show that morning to fix the mess the prior team left, we were reluctant to reschedule but did. Robert promised that he would personally come out the next day to address the problems. The following morning, we got a call from a tech saying he was on his way to fix the problems. We quickly realized he couldn’t answer questions like what grout color was he brining and whether or not he had the cleaner to fix the stainless; it would have been another unprepared visit that would have required another run to home depot or possibly another reschedule. Since Robert had promised he was personally coming out, my husband called him directly to ask why the plan had changed. Robert’s tone was extremely rude, he said that his schedule had changed, that he didn’t see a need to let us know. By this point combined we had taken three full business days off work to deal with COIT from start to finish and we still did not have a resolution. My husband then called Robert’s manager, Gus, who was equally unhelpful and rude. After numerous attempts to work with Gus on scheduling another crew to come out that had the right color grout and the right cleaning solution to fix the grout and the stainless, we finally gave up and decided not to have COIT in our home ever again. We had such a horrible experience that my husband even called the GM in charge of our territory out of California. After several attempts to reach her, the return call from her office was that she didn’t have time to deal with us. In short, our grout has several new holes in it and several new stains in non-traffic areas that were not there before COIT, our stainless appliances are stained all over, the carpet has indentions where the heat from the equipment melted it and looks dirtier than before. In other words COIT ruined our tile, grout, carpet and stainless appliances! Please do not let COIT do work in your home.

I have white grout in my kitchen and laundry room which was installed 3 years ago. I have tried to clean the grout myself with various products, the last effort being renting an Oreck orbiter and using DuPont Klenzall, which really didn't do anything. When I called DuPont for advice, they said if I had used the maximum dilution, the only other thing to clean it was to use acid on it, which I didn't want to do myself, so I hired them. I called for an estimate in December, when they were running their half price sale. At that time the salesman made no mention of the fact that for them to honor their 10 year warranty on the grout colorant, it would have to be cleaned annually by Coit. I scheduled them for service last week, and when they finished the technician handed me the certificate and said that the tile and grout had to be cleaned by them. At no time prior to their beginning work on the areas did he say that. If that is the case, I will have to pay $250 each year (if I use their half off specials) to maintain the warranty. I called the main office and complained, and the woman answering the phone said the original estimator should have mentioned the maintenance stipulations. I have contacted them via their website to discuss this, but haven't heard back from them. I had a house painter give me an estimate to color the grout, with no stipulations about maintenance other than to use a neutral ph cleaner. I must say that the technicians did do a neat job, and did arrive on time, so the ratings on punctuality and professionalism reflect that. The responsiveness rating is for the office staff. We will see how long this grout sealant lasts.

I called Coit for a bid for cleaning and sealing my grout. I told them I only wanted a bid and not a high pressure salesman. She said that the bid would be good for 90 days and I had up to that time to decide so there would be no pressure. The salesman came out and I showed him what I needed done. All he was interested in selling me was the grout coating which he did not explain very well. I showed him the upstair tile that was new and clean and asked him how much that would be to seal. He was only interested in his coating and said I didn't need anything done with that grout although it never had been sealed. He would not even measure it or quote it. They gave me a price and then a discounted price. When I insisted on the just the seal he gave that quote but only for the downstairs. The next day I get a call from the main Coit office that said that was a sale price and I had to have it booked with in the next few days so I could get it scheduled before the sale went off. So against my better judgement I called back on Monday and left a message with the main office, no one called back. I called my salesman and he said he could have it done that Wednesday and they would be calling me Tuesday with a time window. I made my weeks appointments leaving Wednesday open. No one called Tuesday, so I called Tuesday afternoon and they said I was scheduled for Thursday and they would call me back Wednesday with the time. Wednesday they called and said between 10-12. Since it was the wrong day anyway, that would work with my other commitments being at 4. On Thursday they call at 11:45 and said they were running behind and would be here at 2. They finally showed up at 2:45 and he said it would take about 1 to 2 hours so I had to cancel my 4:00 commitment. He finally finished at 5:15. I stayed away from the grout surfacing because of how the first salesman made me so leary. He was just after the larger ticket item so I lost confidence in this method. I couldn't believe anything he said. He told me they would take my area rugs out and shake them. They were rolled up and left on my couch. Never shaken. The installer said to wait 3 days and see how the floor looked. This was a brand new home when we moved in a year ago and I would say they do not look any different than before he came. I think the $900 was a total waste of money. The installer did go over the other method to me but also told me I would have to have coit clean my gout every year to keep my warranty valid. Another think the salesman failed to meantion. So I would have to spend 400.00 with coit every year. I would not use coit again. My neighbors were waiting to see how mine turned out before they called and I would not recomment them.
