Julio Chavez, owner, unplugged the sewer line on 12/20/14. He ran a small auger through the kitchen clean-out and through a vent on the roof to the main sewer. When he left everything seemed to be working fine. I was charged $470.00 for this service. Approximately 30 days later the sewer was again running slow. One of Chavez's crews came out and ran the small auger through the kitchen clean-out and the line again seemed to be clear. They informed me that if it happened again that I would be charged again to clear the line and that I might consider running a camera in the line. They did not charge me for this service trip. The line began to flow slow again the first of February. Taking their advice and believing that I had a serious issue they were contracted to inspect the lines with a camera. This service was quoted at $325.00. They were out 2/6/2015. First they ran a larger auger through line from the vent on the roof to the main line to clear it. The camera was then used to inspect the entire line from the vent to the main sewer. A small anomaly was identified near the main clean-out where the pool equipment was tied into the main sewer. Mr. Chavez did not believe that was a problem because the bathroom closest to the main sewer line was not having any issue. I was charged $610.00 for these services. My problems could of been resolved on the initial visit if Mr. Chavez would of ran the larger auger on the first service call. He could not because he did not have any assistance. Now there is a sewer gas smell in the bedroom nearest to the clean-out that they went through. I have not been able to identify the cause but I will not be calling Chavez Plumbing.

Mr. Chavez arrived to assess the problem as I requested. He was in a nice vehicle, clean, very polite to my wife and I, and was punctual. He listened to our description of the various issues, got right to work with a testing apparatus, and patiently demonstrated to me how the buried gas line was leaking like a sieve. He gave us a verbal quote (we didn't ask for written) and promised he and his crew would be out the next day. The crew arrived on time and got right to work. They worked efficiently all day, spending about 8 - 9 hours on the job and finishing in the evening. All repairs and new pieces were installed cleanly and without shortcuts. We had a little scope creep while the guys were out and they took care of everything we asked for and then some, for less than the cost of a basic service call. When done, they put in extra effort to get the yard repaired as best they could (difficult when putting a 3' deep trench across it), hosed down all the pavement, and left the premises in good condition (again, given that the yard was trenched with a backhoe, it was not going to be perfect, we didn't expect it to be, and they did a heck of a job cleaning up after themselves. I have no idea if the price was fair, it seems like it was for a 4-person crew plus Mr. Chavez for 9 hours of work and a truck bed full of plumbing bits and pieces. He was the first and only plumber to return my request for an inspection and estimate, did so promptly, and was very professional in his dealings. All work done appears to be of high quality, the workers were polite, and all of the little extras they took care of while they were there left me a satisfied customer. Assuming everything works right in the next few days, I'll happily use their services again when more things inevitably go wrong in our 70-year-old house.

The prices were a little high but went ahead and had the work done due to expensive water bills.

They arrived prompt, at 9 am (they said between 9 - 11am). Did not call ahead to say they were on their way. Toilet works great. Handle is a little loose. They had to drive to plumbing supply store to get the parts which is why they said the price was so high. The guys were very courteous and worked quickly,

My experience with them was very good. The scheduling was really flexible. We had given them a window and they were able to come within that window. They were in and out very quickly. They were able to call us in advance. There wasn't a lot of wasted time. They came in, did the job, did a good job, and were out of the door.

Bad business practice - estimates should be at no charge.

Work was done carefully and efficiently. The clean up was excellent. The gentleman was very courteous. They were on time and price was as quoted on the phone.

They came before the scheduled time and were already done at the time they were originally scheduled to be there.

The service was fine and they arrived on time. However I wanted to alert people and let them know that I feel like he charged too much for the work. With any other service man that has come, I get a statement that breaks down the charges. Labor, parts, etc. However Chavez didnt give me a statement at all, and I was given a total of $300. Maybe the prices weren't too high, however I have no way of knowing that because I didn't receive a breakdown of charges.

He was pretty good. He just doesn't have a full range of plumbing services so he was able to do part of our work. He did a good job and was good to work with. They didn't do underground tunneling work so I had to go to another plumbing company for that. The work he did was relatively minor in nature. They did it all in one day and I haven't had any issues. The price was reasonable.

I called around 7 companies for an estimate to have my gas fireplace key valve replaced and a pressure test on the house so centerpoint could return my gas meter. This company was the highest, estimating $900 - $1400 for the repair and test. The company tried to justify their amount saying they would need to spend money on an inspector and permit, and cut into the wall...etc. The permit and inspector was a little over $100, the key valve part was maybe $15. Outrages pricing, I used a different company and spent $300 for everything with taxes (CNR plumbing) and the master plumber was in and out in 1 1/2 hrs.

Julio was the owner and he was a nice guy to converse with. He evaluated what had to be done, went to get the replacement parts and returned to complete the job in minimum time.

There was a water heater leak. They replaced some stuff. I was out with them when they did the service. They were really responsive and available for what I needed them to do and it was perfect.

This was the third time I've used Chavez plumbing and I plan on using them as long as I'm living in Houston. Gabriel and his two-man crew arrived on time and even waited for me as I was running late for the appointment. They were very professional and quickly diagnosed my leaky sink issue, which turned out to be a cracked garbage disposal. They replaced it with a new unit which is running smoothly and without any leaks. The trickier part of the visit was replacing my corroded water heater valves. Because of the setup, the valves had to be cut out and replaced with a pair of valves soldered into their place. It was a touchy job because it took place beneath a sprinkler head that had been known to go off in other units due to heat. Gabriel and his crew worked quickly but very carefully to get the valves removed and the new ones soldered into place. The valves now work fine. Gabriel also gave us some helpful tips about easily clearing air out of our plumbing pipes. This was top notch service and we didn't mind paying the money for good work. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs quality plumbing repair.

Very professional; figured out the problem within minutes and resolved the issues very quickly;

Fixed a slow drain and put in a ball-joint valve faucet for main cut off. Mr. Chavez was friendly and fast, really knows his trade. Cleaned up after he was done- would definitely hire him again.

We had out of town family staying with us for a few days. Soon, we found out that the toilet in the guest room is not working. I tried to fix it myself but actually made it worse. It was late on Friday afternoon. I called around but could not find any reputable plumber available without charging ridiculous extra charges. The nice young lady that answered for Chavez Plumbing understood my predicament. She put me on hold and got hold of her boss. She came back and made an offer that included extra charges for the last minute appointment. It was reasonable. Mr.Chavez showed up promptly and took care of the problematic toilet and did maintenance on another toilet. If I ever need plumbing services, Chavez Plumbing is the first one I will call.

Chavez was AMAZING!!! They called before coming as promised. When he got there, he immediately tried the cheaper option on what could be wrong in an attempt to save me money. When that didn't work, he sent his guys back out that afternoon (he had to be on another job, but did come to check their work before they left). They came back right after lunch and worked through the rain to fix the problem. They were incredibly professional, tried to go with the last expensive solution which would still fix the problem correctly. They worked quickly and made sure that everything was cleaned up completely before they left. Next time I have a plumbing problem, I will definitely call Chavez again.

Crew arrived on time they quickly removed the old unit and replaced with new unit. Brought me up to attic to explain work that was done. They cleaned up after the job and did all this in 3 hours. I have used them on several occasions now and they have always performed the servce to my expectations I would not hesitate in using them again

they helped me find the leak as it was not apparent where the water was coming from - they found it was from a toilet and did a repair that fixed the issue.

It went well, he fixed it right away. It was fast and efficient, but the $180 price tag for a job that took no more than 5 minutes seemed high.

Plumbers arrived on time, determined the problem, told me what it would cost to fix the problem, and did everything they said they would for the price quoted. Price was in line with quotes I had received from other plumbing service companies.

Overall great service. Mr. Chavez was very knowledgable and was honest about the work that I needed. I will definitely be using his services again!

After not getting anywhere with our home warranty company when we had sewage backing up into our shower we called Chavez. They were able to get someone out early the next morning. The men were on time and got right to work. Within 30 minutes they had found the blockage, cleared it and cleaned up the mess. This is the second time we have used them and won't hesitate if we need a plumber to call them again!

We woke up Saturday morning with no hot water. After my husband tried to fix it (it scares me to death when he tries anything), I started phoning all of the plumbers i knew and trusted. No luck on a Saturday. After looking at Angies List, I tried Chavez Plumbing. Julio Chavez picked up his phone on a Saturday morning and promised he would make it out to our home that day. He got here around 4 pm, our old water heater needed a new part (which he had on his truck). Success! He also promised he would email us a quote on a new one on Monday--and sure enough the quote was emailed Monday. Plus, his quote and his recommendations regarding a new hot water heater were better than others we had received...we are pleased and will use him again.
