He explained the type of ant, the application of insecticide, and the affect it should have on the ants. He also answered my questions thoroughly and politely. A Bulwark representative has kept in contact making sure that all is well with the eradication of my pesky critters-I appreciate that. I will be using this company in the future for preventive measures every 2-3 months.

Whenever we notice an issue (teensy ants using our kitchen as a freeway are a recurrent problem, for instance) they come out between scheduled visits to help. Their office staff, and the field staff who come to the house, are all top notch in terms of professionalism. My dog never reacts negatively to the field techs, either. :) Recently, we had a swarm of bees that were seeking a new home. Bulwark gave us some advice on the type of provider to contact, should the bees decide that our home was their new hive (fortunately, they moved on of their own accord). This is the type of extra service that keeps us customers of Bulwark, despite other services being cheaper and using organic pesticides.

+ -1 moreThe bug guy was very cool and friendly and professional. He wasn't the problem. But the woman who made the appointment was annoying and did not do her job. She called me to schedule and I told her I was leaving town, when I would be back, and that I would be ready the week after I got back. So guess what, a week later while I was in the Chicago Art Institute the same woman called as if she had not made any notes on my account at all. We went through the exact same information and I let her know that we had been through all this before. She pushed me for a date and time, so I consented, but told her I was not near my computer so would not be able to put it on my calendar. She assured me that was no problem because she would call me in advance of the appointment. So, you guessed it, no call. I was on my way to work when the man came and ended up having to wait. Besides, I had not made the necessary preparations. Their phone person needs to be effective. I hope the bug service is much better, and that remains to be seen. But I did like the service man, so I hope all is well.

Description of Work: A representative promptly contacted me via email following notification of my purchase for a one-time extermination treatment deal through Angie's List. I then received a follow-up call to schedule an appointment. On the date of the appointment, the technician, Mark Dern, called to let me know he was on his way and arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule. Mark was very polite, courteous, informative and highly professional in every aspect. Before starting to treat the interior, he asked about the specific problems I was having. He then proceeded to explain what he would be doing and the different products he would be using. He did the same thing for the exterior treatment process. Upon completion, Mark reviewed the work he had done and advised me to contact them if I saw additional pests within the next 60 days.

They apologized and explained that there was some newness with Angie's List and they were working out the kinks. The rest was all good and the wife who has been pretty picky about our service from other major competitors was happy. We will continue to use them.
Description of Work: A respectable and professional young man treated the house exterior, interior, and attic. He was thorough and although it left an odor it wasn't too bad and it didn't last too long. We haven't seen anything since which make the wife happy. We had issues with ants and spiders before that.

Description of Work: The provider initially contacted me within a few days of my purchasing the Big Deal. I wasn't quite ready to have them come out, but called back and requested an appointment a few weeks later. I had read several reviews on Angie's List regarding the fact that they would expect you to sign a contract for ongoing treatment, so I wasn't surprised when that happened. I did attempt to wait to agree to the long term arrangement until after the initial visit, just to be sure I was satisfied with the results. That didn't really seem to be an option, though I was told that I could cancel the arrangement if I was unhappy for any reason. So the technician came out and treated the inside as well as the outside. They use pet friendly products, which is a must in my household. The tech allowed me to follow him around to see what he was doing, where he was spraying and ask as many silly questions as I could come up with. He was quite knowledgeable and answered all of them. When he was done he explained how the ongoing treatments would work and what I could expect and should do. All in all, it was a very positive experience. I wasn't having any particular bug problems that led me to call, but I did notice that the occurrence of creepy crawlies on the ground floor definitely decreased after the visit. In fact, I don't think I've seen any of those little gray roly poly (they told me the real name, but I already forgot) bugs since the initial treatment. I have also had a follow up treatment as part of the ongoing maintenance. I was a little surprised when the tech showed up on a Saturday as I expected a phone call or something notifying me that they would be coming. Later I found an email message in my spam folder and also got a letter from them telling me that they didn't have my phone number. I'm not sure how that happened, but they did try to contact me to let me know that someone was coming. That visit was outside only and was over and done within just a few minutes. In fact, if I didn't have to let the guy in to walk through the house to the back yard, I probably wouldn't even have known he was there. It was very unintrusive. Needless to say, I didn't need to worry about signing up for the ongoing maintenance.

+ -1 moreWe had purchased a big deal for the service, and the people that came out were very courteous, and seemed very knowledgeable. They put stuff in my walls to kill roaches, and they did the same outside. I called them again next week, because there were still roaches, and they came out and did it. The next month, they wanted to come out and do regular service, and I told them it was okay, because there were still roaches inside and outside, and so they did some spraying inside and outside. I still have roaches, and so I will not use them again. The people who came out were very nice, but the chemicals that they are using are just not strong enough for my house. I am not satisfied, and I will not have them come out again. I paid 75 Dollars for the second service. They were very responsive.

If we have more bugs inside the house, they’ll redo the inside as part of that service as well but we haven’t had anything. They were friendly and helpful. They were professional.They didn't deliver anything that wasn't promised. They came on time and did what they were supposed to do.
