Every person at Buffaloe Floors & Up that I interacted with in the process of getting new LVP flooring for my kitchen & den was friendly, professional & knowIedgeable. It was an overall positive experience from my first contact with Ronnie, the Sales Rep. to the completion of the installation. The years of operation of the company & the years of experience that Ronnie & the installers have in the flooring business was very reassuring to me. And Ronnie was always accessible either via phone calls or e-mails. Very professional! Pricing, warranties, variety & availability of products was a plus too. I would highly recommend Buffaloe Floors & Up to a friend as it was recommended to me.

The crews were always courteous and punctual. The floors were prepared in a very timely manner. The finish product only lasted 2 years compared to 20 years for the finish they removed.
Description of Work: We had our engineered hardwood floors refinished. This is an update on a previous review. The service was provided in April, 2013. We did pay for services. I don't remember the amount. Any amount would have been too much considering the poor quality products that were used. The finish disappeared from places on the floor within two years. Now we have areas without finish. The previous finish lasted 20 years. The finish put down by Buffaloe lasted less than two.

This place has a huge selection. With so many options available, the help available to understand the differences in products was greatly appreciated. They helped us update the look of floors. The whole house looks and feels fresher. The installation crew could not have been more careful or respectful of my home and furnishings. The only surprise was that there were no surprises. It will be a "no brainer" who to contact when we remodel the kitchen next year.

Buffaloe Floor Covering and their contractor did a fantastic job. Ronnie Kristynik handled this project professionally and was available anytime we had questions. The installers used were top notch as well and knocked the job out quickly and efficiently this included tear out, removal, and working around furniture. They paid special attention not to damage our home, and cleaned up nicely; very professional. We are extremely pleased with Buffaloe and look forward to using them again very soon!

Mary Harris is an excellent employee and the only reason I didn't cancell my order and begin again somewhere else. Dealing with our salesman , Enrique, was very frustrating. He was late for our first appt. Estimates were not the estimates I'd asked for. He went to a different store location for our second meeting , even though I had spoken to him an hour earlier. He did not offer to come to the location where I was waiting for him. Why would he think I wouldn't go to the location where we met before. Then told me the padding he'd suggested could not be sold with the carpet I selected. Obviously, he knew nothing about the carpet if he didn't know that when I chose it. Mary Harris explained to me why the other padding couldn't be used and helped me select new padding. She handled my sale. Between ordering and installation I emailed 2xs with questions that were not answered until I called and asked to speak with a manager. Installers came on time. Did a good job. I am disappointed in the carpet. It looks like office carpeting not for a bedroom. I said from the beginning I had never purchased carpet before. That I needed help. There was another $1,000 in my budget I would gladly have spent if someone had just showed me a comparison carpet or said this will feel too thin, anything ! What's done is done. I'll live with it. But I will not use this company again or recommend them to anyone. Our salesman made initial contact with us to send an estimate without the information I requested and to remind us to pay the balance. Other contact required multiple inquiries from me. Instead of feeling good about 3 new rooms of carpet I am disappointed. My own fault. I should have walked out when he wasn't at the 2nd appointment. I should have realized if he didn't know what padding went with which carpet, he didn't know much about carpet at all.

They showed up on Wednesday and sent a subcontractor to do the work which was not at all what we agreed to, luckily my father was home but we had not planned for them to arrive that day. My dad went ahead and paid the contractor for the work, he asked the guy for a receipt and he said to ask the office as he did not have anything to write it out, when we called the office they said that they could not send a receipt as this was not their employee so we needed to contact the other gentleman for a receipt. They told me they were doing me a favor by recommending someone else and sending out some stranger to my house. I told them I never wanted a subcontractor and I hired them personally for the work so I will need the receipt right away from their end for tax purposes or should the tile crack and they refused to offer it. This is not what I expected from a top rated company on Angie's List and if I do not receive that receipt by the end of today I will be going to the attorney general's office for this company and for Angie's List.

Response from Buffaloe Floors and Up
Regarding the scheduling, when speaking with the customer, she did admit that she had talked to several companies and was confused about which company said what. We had told her we could send someone “the next day” which was Wednesday, and we did. What I am sorry about is that our salesman decided that he would send our top tile contractor and just let the customer pay him directly, leaving our company out of the mix. We don’t get any money for the work, and the customer saves money. Often on smaller repair jobs, we do allow this so that our installer makes a little more money, and since we make very little on repairs anyway, it is usually the best way to handle these things. Our salesman should have explained this to the customer, however, and he didn’t make that clear. The same contractor would have gone to do the work either way, whether she was paying us or paying him. Most of these contractors do not carry receipt books around because for the most part, they are doing work on jobs for us not directly for the customer. Normally your cancelled check is considered your receipt for work done. The confusion came as the customer wanted a receipt and a written warranty on her work which she did not mention requiring before the work was begun. Since we actually didn’t receive any proceeds on this work, the warranty should come from the installer contractor who did the work. Unfortunately, we couldn’t pull him off of another job to come back to the office to write up a warranty and receipt. The customer was not willing to wait, so we did write her a receipt and warranty guaranteeing our installer contractor’s work by us, even though we did not receive any money for the work done. We are a top rated Angie’s List company because we try to be honest and forthright with our customers and we stand behind the work of all of our installer contractors. This particular contractor has been working with our company for nearly 20 years, and is an excellent installer. What the customer failed to mention is that this tile repair had been done multiple times before by other companies and it continued to have cracking problems, and now her tile has been repaired correctly with an anti-fracture membrane.

Everything has gone pretty smoothly we are almost done. The tile is down and finished and I am so pleased with the work. We also had to come up with a solution for my staircase which they have done. I added extra work, painting all the baseboards and painting the railings on the staircase. I am ready for it all to be complete. The work has taken a little longer but not their fault you always run into little issues when working in an older home. I appreciate how nice everyone has been from the owner to my sales associate. Great experience and highly recommend using this company.
Description of Work: I contacted Buffaloe flooring and asked for a quote. I wasn't sure when I wanted to do the work, Enrique was the best. He came out to my home and even brought a treat for my Labrador. I received a professional quote to replace or refinish my hardwoods. We ended up having to tear out all of my flooring and installing the wood like tile. I love it.
Ronnie was very helpful with thinking thru details, patient with our selection process, not trying to high-end every decision, just helping us think about quality and bang for the buck. Workmen were super courteous and cooperated so well with other contractors working in the house. Everyone on time each day, clean when left each day. Excellent work.

We contacted Larry based upon a referral from friends. He came out the same week to inspect the home and give us an estimate. He thoroughly explained the challenges of tile removal and was honest about the amount of dust that would be generated in the process. He made recommendations on wood flooring and brought several samples to the house for our consideration. We verbally agreed to the work. Larry promptly prepared an estimate and we scheduled a date to begin the project. Due to other contractors falling behind on the home renovation we had to rescheduled several times. Larry was very patient with us regarding these changes. When we finally got started the Buffalo Flooring crew was fantastic, very experienced, friendly and courteous. The demolition of the tile took about a week. The crew cleaned up daily. The final result is beautiful.
Description of Work: Demolition of 3000 square feet of tile flooring Removed all debris and completely cleaned up the premises. Installed engineered wood flooring. Note: The home was unoccupied during this process.
I contacted the Cypress location off of House Hahl Rd. for an estimate to replace all the flooring in my home. Appointment was at 10 am. I got a phone call at 9:50 from estimator telling me he was going to be 10 minutes late. He could have been 30 minutes late, as long I get notified, I don't mind. That's a big plus. He was very polite and professional and took his time to answer any questions I had. Another plus was that he got me a number the same day. Although I didn't go with this contractor, I would definitely contact them again with any other jobs I may have in the future.
Description of Work: Provided me with a quote to replace flooring throughout the 2 floors of my home. Included demoing approx. 1700 sq. ft of tile downstairs as well as about 250 sq ft. of glued engineered hard wood in bedroom and replace with new engineered hardwood throughout. As well as demoing approx. 1200 sq. ft. of laminate and carpet upstairs, and on stairs, and replacing with new carpet.
Ronnie came over to give an estimate for the tile work I needed done. He quoted $200 for labor to remove the stone near the fireplace and replace tile. He said that he would try and schedule the carpet guy right after the tile guy so that the work could be completed within one day. I called him a couple days later and said that I wanted to go ahead with the project with him. He asked me to pick the tile and grout that I wanted and order it from Home Depot or some other place and only after that would he set-up an appointment for the work. I agreed and once we had picked out a tile I gave him a call to make sure that it would work for this project. He said it would, but he would need the carpet guy to come too for that particular tile, and so increased his quote by $75. I was absolutely sure that he had included the carpet guy in his initial quote, because he had specifically mentioned that he would schedule the tile guy and carpet guy on the same day. In any case, I gave him the benefit of doubt and said ok to the new quote. I then went ahead and placed the order for the tile to be delivered the following week. Next week I called him to give a headsup that the tile would be here and I would like to schedule the work for the week after that. He said he would check with his men and get back with me the next day. I asked him if he had a contractor discount for the tile company and he said that he had a contractor discount, but the tile company only applied it for normal tiles, not for the pebble type tiles we had chosen. I went to pick up the tile and thought I would double-check with the tile company whether his discount would apply to my tiles. The tile company said it would, however he would need to check with Ronnie first. He called Ronnie and after the phone call told me that 'the tiles would go under Ronnie's credit and so he couldn't do that'. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it basically sounded to me like Ronnie did not want to provide me with his contractor discount. I went ahead and paid full price for the tile, then called him to schedule the appointment. I left a voicemail. He called me back saying "This is Ronnie returning your call. I was just gonna let you know - you need to find someone else to do that tile work. We changed our mind, we are not gonna do it. Our installers are tied up on other large jobs and are not gonna be free, so just find somebody else to put those three pieces of tile. Thanks. Bye.' There was not even an apology from the guy for wasting two weeks of my time and then bailing out at the last moment.
Description of Work: He provided an estimate for work, I accepted it, then he asked me to pick and buy tiles and grout which I did. This process took two weeks. After I had ordered and bought all the material and called him to schedule an appointment, he said that I need to find somebody else to do the work. No apologies, no offers to make things right like providing the name of a different contractor, nothing at all. Extremely unprofessional behavior.

Response from Buffaloe Floors and Up
We hate to see a dissatisfied customer, but some customers are just not going to be satisfied. When this customer originally called about replacing some tiles that the customer was buying from Home Depot, Ronnie was uneasy about accepting this job, as we normally do not install materials not purchased from us due to warranty issues. However, this was just going to be 3 tiles and so he did originally agree to do it. Anyone that has ever had tile work done in their house knows that this is a messy job, removing old tiles and installing new ones. There is just no way to prevent dust completely. Ronnie's second red flag was when the customer was stressing how there could not be any dust and everyone must remove their shoes before coming into the home. But again, he let it go. Then the customer picked out a rock/pebble type tile that would involve trimming the nearby carpet as these tiles are not even. So the carpet labor was not included in the original estimated cost. But the final straw for Ronnie was when the customer went to one of our distributors and tried to buy from them directly and charge it to our account without asking permission from Ronnie to use our account. He first heard about it when the distributor called Ronnie about it. And on top of that, the customer wanted to purchase it from the distributor at our contractor price, rather than the retail price. To us, that is a consumer that was not being straight and fair to us and one that we preferred not to do business with. Unfortunately, there are times in the service industry where it is simply better to walk away from a job. We regret that we ever agreed to the initial installation and apologize wholeheartedly to the customer involved.

I really can't say enough good things about Buffaloe Floor Covering. Initially, Enrique (my salesperson) and I were having trouble getting started and getting coordinated with samples. Once that was finished, everything was smooth sailing. Everyone involved was very attentive to detail and very professional. They made quick work of removing the tile from my kitchen which was incredibly dusty and noisy. Enrique was very sensitive to the fact that I would have company staying at my house before the floors would be finished, and he sent a crew to my house on Friday night to make everything spotless for the weekend before they could resume work on Monday. With Buffaloe's advice, I decided to interlace the slats from my new floor with my adjoining floor and have the old floor completely refinished at the same time in order to ensure a perfect match. Buffaloe was perfectly willing (and capable) of matching the old floor to the new as close as possible, though I decided against this because of some fading in my existing floor. The crews took care to move all of the furniture out of the second floor of my house in order to strip and finish all of the floors. During this process, everything was kept absolutely as clean as possible, including pictures hanging on the walls. The crew replaced all of my furniture without damage once the floors were done. Enrique was very hands-on during the entire process and made multiple site visits to ensure the work was done correctly. Very communicative and effortlessly addressed any concerns immediately -- for example, the crew forgot to replace my pantry door, and this was remedied with no hassle.
Description of Work: Removal of tile in kitchen; installation of wood floor in kitchen; refinishing of entire second floor; refresh of poly on two staircases.

This is the third time we have used Buffaloe Flooring over the past couple of months and every time we have used them we have been over-the-top satisfied with all aspects of this company. They were prompt in scheduling us in, guys showed up on time, did a great job, left with everything cleaned up nicely and all at a fair price. We recommend them highly and I have recommended them to a co-worker who was equally as pleased with their products, services and professionalism. Unfortunately, this person is not on Angie's List to give them a good review, so I'm giving them a double good review! Again, I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future when we need flooring done.

Person came to do estimate & never called back. When I tried to call back, person on the phone asked if I could measure the rooms & send him pictures?Really???? I am not sure how these people have a good rating. They basically look at the job. If the job is "too small" i.e. does not bring in enough money?they don't call you back. I needed to change the carpet on my stairs & bedroom I went to Inspired Floors in Missouri City. I got treated way better. They gave me samples. They were very helpful. They are actually coming over to measure instead of asking me to do it.

I'm so very sorry Mr. [removed member name] had such a bad experience, but I'm afraid he may have gotten us confused with another company that came out. Our salesman went to the [removed member name] home on July 21 at 10 a.m. and measured their house. He was told to not do the quote just yet, until the wife had the name of the material that she wanted to use. On August 3, our salesman received an email from the [removed member name]’s giving him the name of the material and he went to work on the proposal. However, in talking with our supplier to get pricing on this material, he found out that this particular flooring had been discontinued and we would not be able to provide it. Therefore, on August 4, he called back to the [removed member name]household and told them about the bad news he had received from our supplier. He suggested that they come in to our showroom and shop for another flooring that he could quote them on. He never heard back from them after that. Since he already had the measurements, he would not have asked the customer to measure for him. In fact, this is something we WILL NOT do is accept a customer's measurements without us verifying them ourselves. I feel that Mr. [removed member name] was surely frustrated, and rightly so, however, we were not the company that he was speaking about in his comments.

We contact Buffaloe Flooring and Larry came out to give us an estimate within a couple of days. He was very professional, knowledgeable and a good communicator and took the time to take the measurements and discuss the project. He had an estimate for us which included materials and labor within a couple of days and it was very reasonable. His crew came out within a few days from then and did a fabulous job of tearing up some of the old flooring and installing the new laminate. I had just painted the room and they didn't make any marks on the paint. It looks wonderful and we were thrilled to find this company. We have already made plans with Buffaloe to put laminate down in another room in our house. I have recommended them to several co-workers as well. This was our first experience using Angie's List and we couldn't be happier with the results of this highly ranked company on your site.
Description of Work: Installed laminate flooring in one of our bedrooms.
