Biggest disaster. Nothing completed. Owner is one of the rudest and most unprofessional "business owner" I have ever met. Quick to be nice when taking your money and threatening with honoring valid contracts. He says you can buy materials at his cost. The ONLY thing I possibly saved money on was the granite and certainly not an enormous amount. I refuse to accept shoddy work. He is super expensive and work is subpar. I wanted to see pictures of the carpenter's work before they started and written out exactly would be done. The owner said his people did not have to audition for me and I would see what I was getting when they were finished. Totally rude!!
Description of Work: Remodel kitchen cabinets, add drawers, replace countertops with granite, paint all interior, remodel guest and master bath to include custom vanity, doors and windows.

We were told 7 weeks, so I assumed it would be about 10 weeks. In reality, it was over 6 months (mid June to late Dec 2014), with us calling almost every day. Halfway through, I met (at the plumbing supply company) a total stranger who was even further into her many-months disaster of a remodel. We literally traded stories and hugged each other with sympathy for having made the mistake of hiring this company. Ever since this mistake, I have watched our local mailers for his advertisements, and I've seen that the quote in his ads thanking him for a job is literally the same quote, every time, for at least these last 3 years. Our 2nd-place contractor, who we wish we had gone with, has many ongoingly-different quotes from happy customers in their ads. The good news is that almost all work was excellent quality when finally finished. We have no complaints about any subcontractors (plumbing, electrical) or even the Buccaneer employees who worked here (sheet rock, custom onsite cabinets, painters, tilers). The entire problem was the company owner. He sent sheet rock workers here with no sheet rock, so they'd install the half-sheet that was in the garage, for example. Weeks went by with no progress and/or he would call workers to leave our job to go to another job after getting very little done that day. We even overheard workers asking if they could stay here to finish up, and they were told to move somewhere else. This owner is the most unprofessional person I have ever met, and I would never recommend working with him. He is very persuasive and personable at the bid stage, then inaccessible and eventually very rude during the job. After he threatened a lien on our house during Month 6 (on a Friday) because I wouldn't pay the last contract amount of about $500 until after the last work was done, he did actually send the person (the next Monday) to do that work. When it was complete, I gave that worker the final check, along with a personal Christmas card for that worker and a small cash tip, along with my thanks for his good work. I also left that worker with the advice to please go find work with a more professional employer.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of our master bath, back to the studs, as well as custom remodel of our master closet. All quality was excellent except the shower -- after doing the required leak test on the liner, the workers then spent many weeks using the unfinished shower as a storage area, which surely damaged the shower liner. We should have required a 2nd leak test before tile went in, but we did not, so after about a year with a brand new shower, it had mold showing through the floor grout. Other than that, quality was very good. The F rating is for the owner's professionalism, the way the entire job was run, and the way he treats customers.

Under the circumstances not too bad. It did take close to nine months to get the work done, but they were legitimately more concerned with repairing dwellings rather than garages. Once started, it took an inordinate amount of time to finish. Their various crews seemed to be poorly coordinated and there were some permitting delays.

They were very professional and gave me a booklet showing options. They told me about the companies that they work through so that I could get wholesale prices. We are considering them for our remodel.
Description of Work: They gave us an estimate for remodeling our home.
