I met Bruce Claytor when he did a major plumbing job for my dad, and he did a good job. When my water heaters broke down, I contacted Bruce to get my water heaters replaced. He recommended to get a tankless water heater and said that it would save me money in the long term. We agreed on a price of $3500 to remove the old water heaters and install a Navien tankless water heater. On Monday, 11/28/2011, Bruce and an associate named Bobby Griggs arrived an hour later than scheduled and began removing the old heaters in the attic. They spilled rust-colored water in the attic, staining the ceiling, and clogged the bathtub, which they used to drain the hot water. An hour into the job, one of them stepped thru the ceiling, leaving a two-foot hole. After the old water heaters were removed, they left them on my front porch and began installing the tankless water heater. It took them almost 4 hours to put it in and by then it was 9 PM. The water was not hot at all and took a long time to heat up. They said it was getting late and would be busy with another job on Tuesday; they promised to be back on Friday, 12/2/2011, to finish installing the tankless unit and configuring it to have hot water uniformly throughout the house. Since I couldn't take off more time from work, I agreed for them to come back on Friday. Bruce asked me to pay him $3100 since the job was almost done and promised to bring someone by on Friday to fix the hole in the ceiling. I signed him a check for the $3100 since I thought the job was pretty much done and that he would be back on Friday to finish up. They promptly cashed the check on Tuesday. I called Bruce on Thursday, 12/01/2011, to confirm that he was still coming on Friday to finish up the job and he said he would be at my house at 12:30 PM. But Bruce did not show up the next day and when I called him, he did not answer the phone. I called him multiple times and left many messages with him on Saturday and did not get a response. At this point, I am without a functioning water heater, a hole in the ceiling, a large stain in the ceiling, two old water heaters on my front porch, and the $3100.
Description of Work: I paid Bruce Claytor and his associate Bobby Griggs $3100 to remove an old water heater and install a Navien tankless water heater.
