When I called to make an appointment to make an estimate, I was told i would be called some time next week to be told what day they would come. I could not get a date or a time for an appointment, and they felt I was being unreasonable to expect one. I later found a company that actually knows how to make appointments and schedule time. Out of courtesy, I called Binswanger to cancel. Their attitude was quite rude, and that I was being unreasonable. i had been nothing but polite up to that point. I simply told them I found a company that could actually manage their time and be respectful of my time. Call another company. These people think too highly of themselves.

The ladies at the front desk, Cricket and Donna, were very nice. Honestly, I was excited to get referred to this company because I have heard good things about their service. But when my car was brought out I was disappointed. The molding was put on improperly. When I asked Donna about it she said that whomever had replaced the window before cut the molding wrong so they had to patch it. It looks awful. Certainly not a selling point for resale value. Then, when I got in my car it was filthy. Dirt and shoe prints all over the floor mats. I will not take my car back to this company.

I called Binswanger weeks ago regarding a quote for glass shelves for a built in book case. Don gave me a quote, but then said an employee needed to come to my home to measure the shelf area, even though I had already measured and gave him the measurements. So, I set an appointment for Aug 26 for 10:00 am to 11:00 am, which was the next time I could take off from work (they do not work weekends which makes it harder for people who work M-F). At 11:20 when no one from Binswanger had shown up or called, I called them to ask if an employee was going to show up. It was obvious that the employee who answered the phone had totally forgotten about the appt. He finally showed up to take measurements after around noon. I was told that he would send me an estimate in a day or two for the shelves and for some glass doors that we had also discussed while he was there. TEN days later, on September 5, (and after I had called and emailed them to remind them that I had received no quote from them) I received an estimate from Troy for the shelves which was about $100 more than the quote I received over the phone. I talked to Don to ask why Troy’s quote was much higher than his. He said the edge of the glass he was quoting was different. I emailed Troy and told him that his quote was apparently for a different glass edge than I had discussed with Don over the phone. I asked Troy if he had pictures of the edge he was taking about vs. the glass edge that Don quoted me over the phone so I could see if I thought the different edge was worth the extra $100. Troy said that he would “get ahold of son [Don?] see what he can do for you”. That was 6 days ago and I have heard nothing from anyone at Binswanger. Also, I have received no estimate for the glass doors I discussed with Troy while he was at my house on Aug 26 other than Troy is “having a hard time”. I’m not sure why he is having a hard time and at this point, I don’t care. I have been trying to get some glass shelves from Binswanger for over THREE WEEKS now. This should be a pretty simple project that has turned into a HUGE hassle because of their horrible (non-existent) customer service. I am surprised that they do any business at all, or that any customer ever repeats their business with customer service like this. I called another company this morning and ordered the shelves. No problem. No hassles. And their price ended up being better than Binswanger’s. Long story short: It's not worth the hassle to deal with Binswanger.

I sought after Binswanger for a shower enclosure quote. After two emails and three phone calls I finally got response from the estimator at the 249 location. I received a phone quote that was ballpark with other vendors and was promised a formal quote to my email address. I called and left two more messages asking for a quote so I could compare with other vendors. I also asked for the Angies List special if it affected the price. I NEVER received any further contact and NEVER received a formal quote from these people.I cannot explain my deep frustration at a company who was unwilling to submit a written quotation and also live up to their Angies List discount structure. I will never use Binswanger again.

Description of Work: I called them for an estimate to replace a broken insulated window unit which had been damaged by a rock. The person who took my call said that she couldn't set up an appointment but that a technician would contact me. About 5 days later I received a call that the man was on his way and would be at my home in 30 minutes! That was the call. No prior warning. He was very nice and seemed experienced. That was the last I heard from them. It's been 10 days now and nothing. Not a great way to do business.
