We had no hot water since the breaker for the hot water heater was bad and we were beginning to have other electrical issues related to a worn out power panel. Alberto came out on the weekend and worked in 100 degree heat for over four hours to replace the power panel and breakers. Excellent service in every way! This was my second time to use Backup Electric and I will not hesitate to call Alberto in the future.

+ -1 moreAlbert Martinez is a young gentleman who knows his business. Albert came out on a Saturday and replaced the breaker after he determined that we had the correct gauge wiring for a 50 amp breaker. He then went into the attic and disconnected a plug outlet that is not supposed to be in the attic and then rec-connected the attic venting fan and doorbell transformer. I highly recommend Backup Electric because 1. His service was great. 2. He explained exactly what was needed. 3. The cost for work was very fair.
Description of Work: Our AC requires a 50 amp breaker and the home builder, Perry Homes installed a 40 amp breaker when they built our home in 2010 ! Also we had a short in the circuit leading to our furnace !

Also, I didn't have the necessary box installed for them to attached the ceiling fan to, but they accommodated me and install a new box and switch on the spot. I really appreciated that.

They labeled the panel and then after auditing all the switches, performed troubleshooting on an inactive switch & outlet & were able to repair them quickly. Albert & his assistant were very thorough and cleaned up both the inside & outside of the house. They exceeded our expectations. If I could score on my own, they would have an A+.

Description of Work: I asked through Angie's List and received four quotes from different electric companies and electricians in the Houston area for electrical work to be performed indoors and outdoors in my house. Some of them did not reply for days or others submitted a bid up to $2300! One other company sent me a bid for $1750. On the other hand, Alberto was very professional, he stopped by my house, checked the project and gave me an estimate for $1200.00, which was what it cost me at the end. I hired Alberto for my electrical projects who did an outstanding job, finished on time and I also saved money versus the other electrician-bidders. In the future, I plan on hiring again Alberto for my electrical projects.

Description of Work: It is SO hard to find an electrician who can actually take things apart and fix them - FOUND ONE! I did not want an electrician to just walk in and say - " just buy a new ceiling fan, etc.". I had a list of all minor electrical issues - ceiling fans not working, lights not coming on (not bulbs), speakers installed outside, etc.

My wife very happy when she flipped switches for the fan and lights and they both worked. No adjustments or rework needed. Albert was courteous, prompt and professional.
