From start to finish it went perfectly. Jason was responsible and professional. He showed up and gave me a quote and within a couple of days had a crew out to install the new fencing and refurbish the rest. The quote he gave me was on point and the installation, repair, painting was quality work. There were a few minor imperfections which Jason took care of immediately. I will use them again for the additional wrought iron fencing I have left but couldn't do at this time because of vines.

I am not one to usually write reviews. However, I have never been so disappointed in a product. In order to provide an objective review, I will try to list pros and cons. I have taken my time in leaving this review from the original service date in order to be objective and factual. I wanted to post this review so that anyone considering using Jason and his services would know my experience and proceed with caution. Pros He responded quickly to my initial phone call. Produced and revised drawings quickly for me to see. The gate was ready within 1-2 weeks for install. he did install a quality gate opener. Summary of cons (if you wish to read the more in depth version see below): 1. Gate was not made to specifications. Jason was not upfront about this. he installed the gate knowing it was not to specifications. I had to call it to his attention that the gate was not per the drawing, and unfortunately, I was not made aware of this until after the instal. I was at work. 2. Craftsmanship was poor. there were areas that were not even welded. the paint job had primer showing and areas where paint had not covered completely. pickets were gouged and damaged. welds had a lot of buckeye and s***. 3. Gate was not planned well. Decorative horizontal rectangular pieces were supposed to encircle the entire post but because of poor planning had to be cut to look like a facade. 4. Gate was rusting one month after install. 5. He took a picture of my gate knowing it was rusting (I checked the dates), and it is now posted proudly on his website. FYI it is the one with the work permits mounted on it and the green port-a-potty behind it. Cons The initial major incident that alerted me to the fact that Jason was not the craftsman he billed himself to be and did not take pride in his work was when I noticed that my gate was not made to the specifications that we had agreed upon in the drawing. when I called this to his attention, he informed me that he was aware it was not to my specifications when he picked the gate up that morning. but he had proceeded with installation anyways. he did NOT contact me when he realized the gate was not done to specifications. Rather, I had to bring it to his attention that afternoon when he sent me a picture while at work. he then told me that "that was in the past (that the gate was not to the drawing specs) and we could only move on from there". he decided he would cut the gate in the field to get it to original specs. the next major incident was the following day. I was under the impression that he would be there in the morning. however, he did not come until the afternoon. thus, the crew was painting my gate by poor evening light. it looked fine at dusk. however, when daylight hit it, the paint job was very uneven. By that, I mean there were areas where primer was showing and other areas where paint coverage was not good. Also, there were areas were the paint had left severe drip marks and areas where during the install process the gate had been damaged. this left some areas that had been painted but looked very rough. When I contacted him regarding the paint job, he did respond after I texted him. Initially I had called him and did not receive a call back. he brought sand paper and a spray paint can and did his best to touch it up. i would say it was a patch job at best. it still did not look great. I was also not happy that when we had to deal with the fact that the grade of the ground left significant space under my gate, I had to beg him to stick around at the job site to troubleshoot it with me. He did oblige only after much insistence that he be there to help. Then, a month later, I noticed the gate was rusting. I contacted him regarding this. and heard back very quickly. however, his solution was to caulk the gate and repaint it (whether that meant to repaint the whole gate or just paint the part that was rusting I am not sure). I honestly had lost all faith in his ability. I felt like at this point if he did not care to do the gate right in the first place, why would he fix it correctly now. The solution he proposed was yet another patch job to a gate that was not crafted well or with care. I also noticed that there were areas of the gate that had not even been welded together. then i noticed some of the pickets has been gouged out so that there were holes in the picket itself. he and his crew did a lot of welding in the field, and it became clear that the gate was not carefully planned out. that the drawings were really but a rough guide. by that i mean, that some of my horizontal square pieces that were meant to encircle the post completely had to be cut to look like a facade piece. (this may be hard to visualize but I suppose the thing to take from this piece is that the gate was not well planned). But what really got me and what I find offensive and completely unprofessional is that my gate is proudly posted on his website. FYI it is the one with the work permits on it and the green port-a-potty behind it. the most disheartening part of this is the picture he took was done AFTER he knew the gate was rusting (i checked the dates). I wanted to post this review so that anyone considering using Jason and his services would know my experience and proceed with caution.

Jason Richardson was extremely helpful and prompt at meeting my requests. The design was ready to go quickly after I contacted him. The crew came out and completed the job within 3 days. They were thorough with their clean up. The quality of the work was amazing. Our neighbors liked their work so much that they connected the fences between our homes. We also had them do handicap railings for around the back door. They did a beautiful job with that as well.

We had a very positive experience. Jason contacted me right away to set up a time to discuss our needs. He provided an estimate within 24 hours. His estimate was in line with others in the area. A week and a half later, he came back with his crew and installed the gates. He and his crew were very courteous and professional, and cleaned up after themselves each day before they left. Jason went over everything with us at the end to be sure we were familiar with the way the gates operated. We felt very pleased with everything. We would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a driveway and/or pedestrian gate in the future.

We contacted Jason for a discussion of the details of our fencing project and to provide an estimate. He came to our home and was willing to discuss several different scenarios and the pros and cons of each. Of three fencing companies contacted, he was the only one willing to problem solve our fencing situation. We wanted our wrought iron fence to be installed on a concrete retaining wall with drainage holes around approximately 230 linear feet, with two gates, including a concrete retainer around our air conditioning units. We also asked that he design a decorative iron gate for our front entrance. Jason was informed that we needed drawings to submit to the Architectural Control Committee for our subdivision in order to submit improvements for their approval. He provided very professional AutoCAD drawings of the fence and a beautiful design for the front gate which we were able to photo shop onto a photo of our house to illustrate how the house would look with the new gate. His estimate was detailed, submitted within a few days and was reasonable. Once we signed agreements, work began immediately. His crew members were perfectionists, arrived before daylight and worked into the night. They cleaned their work areas each day and did not proceed when there were challenging aspects of the project until they talked to us and to Jason to make certain that everyone was in agreement with procedures. Because our fence surrounds a pool, they erected a temporary fence to ensure the safety of that area while working on the new fence. Jason uses galvanized steel which is primed and painted with two coats. The fence and front gate are heavy, sturdy, and quite beautiful. Once everything was installed, touch up buffing and painting was done. The quality of the hardware used on the gates is the best we have seen. Communication with Jason throughout the project was frequent and immediate. He was on site each day, not only to check on progress, but to personally do some of the work himself. We found Jason to be personable, professional, responsive, and cooperative to work with. We also were very appreciative of the crew members he assigned to do our work, as they were hard-working, considerate to not impose on us in any way, and were very helpful and responsive to our requests.
Description of Work: Architectural Fabricators provided AutoCAD drawings of designs proposed for our fencing project of approximately 230 linear feet of wrought iron fencing installed on 6-12 inches high by 10 inches wide retaining walls, including a concrete retainer around our air conditioning units, a concrete addition to our driveway and a design for a decorative front entrance gate. The owner, Jason, provided estimates, based on our specifications. His company completed the necessary location of utility lines, excavation, capping of sprinkler heads, forming and pouring of concrete retaining walls, setting of fence posts, installation of fence segments, and gates, priming and painting of posts, and all touch-up work after assembly.

First Jason came by and gave us a quote. We had other quotes. He wasn't the cheapest but very competitive. We really liked his ideas and his professionalism so we went with him. He measured once we set on the type of fence we wanted. {He has lots of choices.} Then he gave us a date when he would be ready to install, which was very reasonable and showed up when he said he would. The fencing and gates are of very high quality, and we are very pleased.
Description of Work: Architectural Fabricators did an wonderful job on our fence. It is beautiful and we are very pleased with the professionalism and how quickly it was done. Jason was very accommodating and easy to work with. We will definitely work with him again and we would highly recommend him to anyone. We had three gates put in and fencing on the sides of the house. The main gate is electronically opened with a button in the cars and on the house. We love it and feel much safer.

My husband and I live in a gated community, backed by a golf course. The fencing in our backyard is fairly standard, and used all along the fairways. It was poorly constructed, however, and the tack welds on a back section and on our gate have come loose. As a result, it looks sloppy and presents a security issue. I contacted Jason to get a quote on repairing the fence. Since the black paint is fading and the fence itself is also starting to rust, I also asked for a quote for refinishing the fence -- separate from the repair, as it would be a substantial sum. Jason arrived. We spoke and I showed him the fence. He was very likeable and, after he left, I received my quote in good time. We are, unfortunately, also dealing with an overseas work assignment, so I was unable to get the project completed during this same trip home. When we returned about 2 months later, I contacted Jason via e-mail to try and schedule a time to complete the repair; the refurbishment of the fence was going to have to wait until some financial details of the work assignment were sorted out. It took a few days, but he finally responded. I scheduled a morning for him to come and complete the work. The day arrived, and I heard nothing from him -- no phone calls, no e-mails. I waited until the afternoon, and finally e-mailed to cancel. He responded to *that* message fairly quickly, with no explanation or apologies for his tardiness. I'll own up to the fact that my own communications were delayed because of our work situation. Still, I came away from this interaction feeling that, because this project is fairly small, and not very expensive, with a low profit margin, it was permissible for him to allow it to fall by the wayside. The problem is, when I rotate home, my time is limited: I can't wait on people who cannot be bothered to show up or be respectful of my time. A simple phone call to notify of a delay would have been appreciated... Or, if he didn't want the job, he could have simply said so, and I would have gone on to the next. In the meantime, I still have a gaping fence that needs repair and, as of this posting, still seem to have trouble finding someone to complete the work.

Response from Architectural Fabricators
After she agreed to do the small job, I tried to have a crew out there same day, but she was in meetings and didn't receive my calls. She apologized, said she had to go overseas the next day and couldn't do it till she got back. When she got back weeks later we agreed to do the job Friday or sat. I had a crew heading out to do the work when she cancelled on me yet again, at 10:30 Friday morning. That was the last communication that we had. I'm not quite sure how I could have handled it differently. Luckily, I have it all documented via email, hopefully we can get it resolved.

They were fabulous. My fence and gates look so good that my house did not look as good as it did. My experience with them was wonderful. They were very punctual about getting here. They did the work very quickly. I could not believe how quickly they put the fence up. And they have to tear down another fence and gate. They cleaned everything up, didn't leave any mess for me. So it was great. They were fabulous. The gate and fence are beautiful. And the workmanship is A1. That's why I am using them again. The biggest thing is their workmanship. And also they are very conscientious about getting in touch with you. You send them an email and you get one right back. They do not make you wait for 4 or 5 days wondering what they're doing. And if you call them and don't answer, they call back in a short period of time. And I got them from Angie's List.

The service and quality was exceptional, and almost 3 months since installation we remain extremely satisfied. After discovering the company on Angies list and checking out their extensive web site, I contacted them and received and immedaite appointment for the following day. Jason came to my home, surveyed the front porch area and offered several suggested solutions and desgns. His crew turned up 2 days later, arriving on time, and spent the day installing the gates to our front porch. I was so impressed with the outcome, especially the service, that I ordered another similar gate for our side entrance. Once again, the gate was fabricated and installed a couple of days later. I found the owner, Jason, and the two seperate crews that performed the work to be very helpful, professional, and competitive to another firm I had previously contacted. I would highly recommend this company.

We researched many of the gate builder/installers and got quotes from about five or six. Jason?s quote was towards the lower end of the ones we got but his specs were more towards the upper end. That along with fact that Jason was easy to get in touch with through email and phone made our choice easy. The installation went quickly and smoothly and looks great. We have had a few problems with the gate operator but Jason has been out quickly to resolve whatever the issue was. I would highly recommend Jason and Architectural Fabricators to anyone.

Jason came quickly after I called and gave me an estimate. Home owners Association approved his design and within a week his men had completed the job. Jason Richardson belongs to a rare breed of extremely professional and conscientious service providers. If every one has his integrity and honesty the world would be a better place. We only heard the best testimonials from the referrals he gave us and we can say that we are extremely pleased with his design and installation of the fence. His design is more aesthetically pleasing and his experience is par excellence. We would give him the highest grade when it comes to every aspect that involves iron fence.

We got bids for the fence from three companies, and while this company wasn't the least expensive, they were within $100 of the lowest bid and offered the most control over the design. Installation went smoothly, although the installation crew struggled with the gate mechanism for some reason (it seemed like a pretty straightforward assembly job to me, but what do I know?). Eventually they were finished and the finished fence looks great.

Initially Jason, the owner, came out to see if the old operator can be repaired. Unlike with other companies I have called there were no service charge for such a visit. The old gate appeared to be in irreparable condition, so we decided to replace it. Jason quickly sent us a quote, and when we were ready to install the new operator the work was done promptly. They even went as far as getting matching paint for the gate to paint the new iron pieces used to attach the new operator. Excellent service and very pleasant to work with.

I was very pleased with the service and quality from Architectural Fabricators. They installed the cedar fence, wrought iron fence and driveway gate in a matter of days. All the wrought iron gates are fabricated by them and consist of painted galvanized steel to reduce the effect of corrosion and rust. The work was very high quality (for example they ensured that the main post was buried in the ground at least 5 feet to ensure stability. If the workers made a mistake, Jason was quick to have them correct the mistake. Overall, I was very pleased with the outcome and feel the fence and driveway gate will last a very long time due to the quality of the work.

Jason answered his phone so I didn't have to leave a msg. We discussed what I was needing and I emailed dimensions and 3 pictures of the wooded area where I wanted the gate. The land rose up about 4 feet on either side of the "drive" so that presented a problem in my mind. He responded in about 2 hrs with a quote that was $300 more than I wanted to spend. He came out and met me at the spot the next day. We discussed access for the materials, the need for water for the cement and electricity for his welder. I scheduled the job 2 weeks out because I had another project in the way. He was able to pull it up and complete it before my other project started. I think it was 3 days later. Plus he agreed to do it for $300 less than the original quote and my other project ended up getting pushed out cuz of rain. My only knock on the whole project was that his crew showed up about 2 hrs before he could get there and I had to show them where sections of the fence and the post holes were supposed to be drilled. We had marked all that previously but it would have been better if he had been there.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the work, the owner's (Jason Richardson) oversight and the end quality & look of the new fence and pedestrian gate. I recommend Architectural Fabricators (AF) to those wanting a high quality fence and wrought iron gates. A few observations that I'd like to share include: Bidding process - Jason used his iPad to show pictures of what types of fences & gates (from his prior jobs) that I could choose from; his written proposal was clear & easy to understand / a neighbor a few houses down used him for their gate driveway and a fence portion & were very satisfied with AF's work Price - AF's price (for the wood fence) is on the higher side, however, I was seeking & got high quality product & service (with insurance coverage) over a discount fly by night job. A few points that make the higher price worth it: High quality cedar picket/cap/trim & treated framing wood (from reputable lumber yard) & not from Home Depot/Lowes Post hole digger - AF used a machine (don't know name) with a huge drill bit to dig the 3+ feet & used 2-3 bags of concrete per post (as opposed to hand digging which can't get to the depth and width that AF achieved) Insurance/Liability coverage - certificate sent to me independently by insurer Workers are employees & not contracted and/or picked up from HD/Lowes parking lot Pricing flexibility - AF was very reasonable & flexible in the pricing for the cedar cap and trim along with charging nothing more than originally bid. They as well did additional services (i.e., cut down a small tree, hauled away pavers, etc.) at no additional cost. There were no surprises at the end of the job. Tear Down & Removal - Fence was torn down and removed from site as part of bid in a very efficient & clean way; Owner oversight & like ability- Jason was at the job site often & within easy contact via phone & email / quick response time to my queries / professional & just an overall good & honest person Only constructive criticism - could have been a little more diligent in cleaning up some loose cement on neighbors sides of fence
Description of Work: Installed approx. 250' of 7' Cedar Fence with Cedar Cap & Trim along with fabricated and installed a wrought iron pedestrian gate (with panels & lock).
