The work itself went well. The guys that came to my house were very professional. They were prompt and checked in with me every day as their equipment stayed here for several days to dry the floors and walls. I'll admit I don't know anything about what is involved in this type of a project... My insurance adjuster had to come back a second time when he saw the extent of the floor that was removed so the cost went higher. My biggest issue with Apex is that they could not seem to come up with a detailed invoice explaining exactly what was done. I received a check from insurance made out to me and Apex so I promptly called them to see if I could get a final bill so that I could pay for the remaining amount. Somehow that could never seem to happen - after never hearing from them for months, I finally just assumed that the total charge matched what my insurance estimate said. Months later, I started reciving calls to pay the remaining balance. I was surprised, but asked for documentation showing what was done, what was paid, and what was still outstanding. After multiple calls to and from the billing office (which was no easy task... the person who I needed to talk to was never there past 4:30) they were still unable to provide anything but an invoice showing the total amount and what was paid. I would like to have seen the scope of work from the company...not just from my insurance. Many "reasons" that they couldnt provide the information....office moved, something about computers, etc. I finally decided to just pay it to call it finished... then their credit card machine apparently wasn't working. Even when I checked back after a weekend it was still not working. I finally relented and wrote a check which was not my intention. I think their invoicing and billing practices are horrible. I question the amount I was charged, but I simply don't know enough about this type of repair and don't have the time to research it. I'm guessing there are other companies who could perform the same type of work who also provide prompt, accurate billing information in a timely fashion.
