After scheduling the visit with their office and paying through Angie's list, the technician that arrived claimed the company no longer works with Angie's List and did know about the tune-up deal we purchased. He tried to adhere to the 20-point list we showed but he did not have some of the materials with him that were on that list (e.g. algae removal solution). He basically did not do much more that point out deficiencies and explain why the actual tasks he needed to do (clean coils, clean filter area etc) were not needed because it was either "clean enough" or had deficiencies that rendered it moot. It amounted more or less to an AC inspection service, pointing out a long list of things that need to be done (up to suggesting replacement of the entire unit) for an AC unit that was formally inspected shortly before (with some of the deficiencies indeed described in the original inspection report) and is functioning normally. We feel this service was money not well spent.

This was a $69 big deal purchase. The inspection they did was fine. I did not take advantage of their further offer. They wanted me to sign a contract with them, which I did not do. There were extra costs because they put more Freon in than the offer said. I felt I was being pretty high pressured about the contract. They are high pressure people. I am sure he did exactly what his boss wanted him to do. The price that you got through Angie's List was their opportunity to get you to sign a contract with them so that was his prime objective. I don't really like high pressure salespeople. The prices were fair. I did not deal directly with the company.

The tech told me that there was an issue with the Txv. However, when I contacted another company the tech said my system was fine and that the charged me for freon when the unit did not need it. I feel as though I was ripped off. Both units are cooling just fine. No noticeable difference Airflow service.

Response from Airflow AC and Heating
On October 9, 2015 Airflow AC and Heating, Inc. had [Member name removed] schedule for a $29 for a HVAC service call and $100.00 credit towards repairs, which she purchased through Angie's List. Upon arrival Service Tech asked [Member name removed] "Which system has the issue?" [Member name removed] response was "Not sure, can you just check both of them like a check up?" Service Tech response was "Yes". After performing a performance test on both units, a cost of $79.95 each unit which she was only charged for one, Tech determines that the 5 ton R-22 system was low by 3 lbs. 10 oz of refrigerant, which the refrigerant was inputed. The 4 ton 410A system temperatures and pressures were not correct and the inside temperature difference was a 10*-12* split. Service Tech evaluated both inside evaporator and determined 5 ton R-22 coil was leaking refrigerant and recommended a new evaporator coil and furnace due to age of equipment. On the 4 ton 410A system Service Tech recommended the homeowner get with the original installer to see if they would possibly assist her with servicing the system and coil because it's still under warranty through the Mfg. and if that Service Company doesn't want to help her then for her to contact us back for future service. Airflow deducted $100.00 from the service invoice, per the deal [Member name removed] purchased through Angie's List. We are sorry that [Member name removed] feels that the services rendered on this day were not to her satisfaction based on her review. [Member name removed] said the "other" A/C company said there's nothing wrong with her equipment, but however [Member name removed] didn't specify which of the systems were looked upon and serviced by the other company. We feel that this is just another blatant attempt to discredit one company to earn a customer. Once the ambient temperatures rise again in the next coming year [Member name removed] will realize that she is having a cooling issue and that Airflow was correct. Airflow is a accredited business with the BBB and hold a A+. We're not really sure why [Member name removed] purchased a "service call" coupon if she feels her system never had an issue? Just asking.

Worse experience ever. They did a similar job about a year ago and it cost approximately a year and a half ago. Today they were going to replace one of two pans and replace a shut off valve. They quoted a price of 780.00 when I said no way they dropped it to 350.00. I told them it cost about 160.00 a year ago and was told "we weren't charging enough" and we don't honor prices if you find a lower price with another company. Well I'll never use them again!! Ripoff Horrible service horrible prices. Stay away from this company!
Description of Work: I set up an appointment to have my air conditioner overflow drip pans changed due to age.

Received sales call for AC checkup special of $59. Techs that arrived were very professional and informative. No complaints there. During checkup I was told upflow coil was leaking coolant. Price quoted to replace coil was lump sum parts and labor $2895 + $238 tax. A 20% deposit was required of $626. I was never told the deposit was nonrefundable, nor does the service order state that it is. The work was scheduled for three days later. The next day I had the opportunity to validate pricing on the work requested. On the phone I was told that the price should be more in line with the $2000 dollar range. The following day, I called Airflow to notify them that I am getting other written quotes for this work. Offer was made to drop the tax from the quote. I still felt that was too far apart. I had a second written quote for $2100, and called to cancel the scheduled service. I was perfectly willing to pay the original service check and a restocking few on any parts that were purchased. Given the Goodman coil the tech was mentioning is less than $500 (based on research), expected cancellation would be $150 - $200. I was told it would be the full deposit to cancel. After several exchanged calls, I was told that they would match the written quote. At this point I did not feel comfortable doing business with the company.
Description of Work: - Cold Call AC Check, recommendation new coil should be installed - Require 20% non-refundable deposit on entire quote amount including labor and tax - Quote was about 30% higher than others - Quote was a lump sum, not itemized, plus tax on the entire amount

It was a cold call offering an A/C inspection for $50. After I complained that they weren't on Angie's List they had me call a satisfied customer to get a recommendation. The inspection showed some things that obviously needed to be addressed. During the preventive maintenance and repairs it was observed that the emergency drain pan had standing water and blowing out the drains didn't eliminate the problem. It was discovered that the drain pan had been installed with no slope. They replaced the drain pan and arranged for it to have a little slope. Charles, the boss, was very polite and very knowledgeable. It seems that he runs his own business and likes to have personal relationship with all his customers. I'm glad I was persuaded to have their inspection and subsequent work.
Description of Work: 1. Inspection of A/C. 2. Cleaned evaporator coil, condenser coil, replaced conductor, installed float switch, and blew out primary and secondary drain lines. 3. Replaced emergency drain pan and re leveled air handler.
