A year later the leak was back. They were the second company to come out to find and repair a Freon leak. They claimed the leak was caused because when the pipes were soldered connecting the compressor to the house the pipes got too hot and corrupted the valves. This was an expensive repair that had absolutely no effect on the problem. They were also called out because the unit quit working all together. The first tech that came out said there was no power to the unit and I needed to call an electrician. I measured the voltage going to the unit and it was fine. It took a second more experienced tech to discover their was a short. One of the techs also slammed their foot on my attic ladder and broke it and did not make any apologies.
Description of Work: I had a Freon leak and then an electrical issue.

Air Tech of Houston is simply the best. We had 2 good quality units installed for a reasonable price. We got a discount for paying cash as well as a discount for February being a slow time of year for their business. The technicians were are friendly, competent and professional. The original estimate was written in detail by a technician (not someone doing strictly sales). There was absolutely no pressure and no add-ons or surprises. Their team of seven came out and removed the old units and installed the new ones in half a day. The entire attic had new duct work. It was absolutely no stress that day. Every contact I had with the company was pleasant and professional. I can't recommend this firm highly enough. My second estimate was from John Moore. After a hard sell (and I mean HARD) they gave us a ridiculous estimate of $30,000 for the two units. We were paying cash for the units and wanted a discount. They don't do that. What's more, it isn't any cheaper in the winter months, when they aren't as busy. He said we had rats in the attic and that they could send their exterminators out. When we checked out the problem ourselves we found the entryway for mice to get in the attic was where all the hoses and wiring came into the house for the ac/heat unit and blocked it with wire screen. There were a few mouse droppings in one area of the attic. Then we set up mouse traps in the attic for a week and caught nothing. They were just coming in at various times and leaving. (They have since moved on) This salesperson had us believing that there were rats nests all through the insulation. Of course that could be done at an additional cost with another one of their "services". So now we were to add extermination and replacement of insulation (not reflected in their price—that was only for the units and installation. The system they would have installed was a very cheap unit. We looked up the system and they retail for $1,500 each and were poorly reviewed. We calculated his labor costs and they were in the neighborhood of 750%. I would not recommend this company.

I've been doing business with 'Air Tech of Houston' for a few years now and haven't been disappointed with their service. The technician, Samuel, has been working on our equipment from day one and is very punctual, professional, and informative. I will continue to do business with Air Tech and would have no problem recommending them to friends and family.

The first guy came in and he did a good job except for he didn't put the lock on secure and it all leaked out but he did some things that were very positive. The second guy, more experience he immediately saw what the problem was and he checked it and replenished the cooling. I'd give them an A- probably. You know they really rectified the problem immediately. The first technician, he did a good job but bottomline is he didn't put the lock on good and so I lost gas cooling out of my unit and when I realised it was not cooling, well Friday was already gone and it was over the weekend and I didn't call, till Monday. But they got someone out there, that Monday morning and it was one of there better technicians, experienced. I think this(first) guy was relatively new. But he was a very cool dude and he solved the problem with the rattling cage seat. The company did a really good job. If the other guy didn't really fit it then I dont know how. He could have gotten there and charged me for adding a free on anyway. He had to add more than a pound but he didn't charge me for that because I had - and rightfully so because I actually wouldn't if its there technicians fault that he was coming out. But he didn't he said it was no charge and he apologised and he checked it inside and out and it looked good and told me to call him immediately if I had any problems and stuff and so I have to recognise he's enough and so. I guess I'd give him an A. It was a fair price. Maybe the quality of one technician. I guess they should have sent the more experienced out the first time with him but. Cause that was really the problem. The fact that he didn't really understand something about that lock and taking it off and putting it back on and he didn't secure it. and it was leaked. So its kinda hard giving him a B when the overall rating is an A. I would use them again. I would specifically ask for the other technician as opposed to- cause I know he knows what he was doing. Because I know the first guy if they send him back out again to rectify the problem. I dont know if it would have been resolved as fast or not. Or maybe he would have recognised instead what had happened and did it. This guy, you know, went through everything and checked everything. So, I guess I give him an A on Quality, the second guy I'm really basically judging the second guy. They were there on time. Both were very professional.
Description of Work: Overall it was a good experience. I think they came out within that week period. I think there was a schedule. It was within that time frame when the contact was initiated. I dont remember it being within the next day or two. maybe two days. They come out that Friday. There was an error that one of the technicians made and they sent another guy out there the following Monday and took care of the problem, no charge. Actually the first technician- there was some rattling going on that was just in the cage itself, the case. He put some tension on it and he just basically checked the fluid and everything. and everything thing looked fine, but he didn't secure the lock and it leaked out all by cooling and i didn't realise the problem until the weekend. When I called that Monday, they got someone out there immediately, an experienced guy. He took care of the problem. I paid them 49 to provide the. I had two unit. the offer only does one so I called the company and told them I have another unit and they other fee was paid directly to them for the some thing it cost. Had the time I needs two be you can only do one.

Very well until the technician told me that the duct work was in bad shape and should be replaced as soon as possible. She quoted $5600 for the job. I have been using Air Tech the past 3-4 years in my 25 year old house. The reason I originally called them was because my AC was not working, and my regular service company couldn't work me in. That turned out to be a blessing!! I now use this company for both my spring checkup, as well as any repairs or new equipment that may be needed. The technicians are extremely knowledgeable and very professional. They always explain the problem, and what options I have. In addition to the techs, the installers are also very professional, and respectful of your home. They cover the floors before hand and cleanup everything afterwards. Amazing!

They did an amazing job, they replaced it with a high efficiency unit. Cleaned up after themselves and based on my experience with them I said look I said when you go off season and you need some work off season give me a discounted price on replacing the larger of the two units because it's twenty five years old also, it hasn't failed yet but it's probably you know on the verge. And so I had them come out and replaced the larger of the two units based on my satisfaction with the first one and I wouldn't revise that estimate at all everything is working just fine, my utility bills are lower, I'm just happier the clam with Air Tech. I could not give them a high enough recommendation, they were great, they were fast, they were clean, they were efficient, everything works they way it's supposed to. They installed the units that everybody seems to evaluate as being well above average quality so yeah I'm happy with them.
Description of Work: I use Air Tech of Houston LLC for heating and a/c services. I had an emergency repair back in the summer and they came out and they replaced a unit that failed. And given that it was high season I thought their prices were reasonable, they were hugely professional, they did a great job and based on that experience.

JUST HIRE THESE GUYS, don't waste your time with other companies. This is by far, hands down, the very best HVAC company I have ever dealt with. I have owned homes in Colorado, Chicago, and now Texas. These guys are the real deal and stand behind everything they do. Our 2004 built home in NW Houston (Cypress) is about 3900 square feet. We had one 4 ton a/c unit and one furnace for the entire home. We bought the home in 2012 and knew that it had a contractor grade HVAC system that would need to eventually be replaced. Over the last 4 years, our outdoor a/c unit has gotten louder and the lights began to dim when the unit would come on. We previously hired AirTech of Houston to install a start-up capacitor on the outdoor unit to help with the major draw when the unit would start up. We were so impressed with them for this little job that they were the first (and only) to get a call when we decided it was time to replace our unit. When it came time to replace the system. We had discussed and decided to zone off our home splitting the 1st and 2nd floor onto two separate systems. This meant out with the old, and in with 2 new systems. We also wanted to zone off the 2nd floor into 3 separate zones, our master suite on 1 zone, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on another, and our game room on a 3rd.

We had AirTech come out 2 look at our home to see if what we wanted to do was even possible. Daniel was our sales guy. He explained that it was completely possible, duct work would need to be replaced and re-routed in our attic. He also explained that technology has advanced so drastically over the past decade in HVAC, that we have several options for what we could do. He was in our home about an hour, took a lot of notes, some measurements, and told me he would get back to me in a few days with the estimates. We had figured somewhere near $20,000 for the project and when the estimates came in higher, we didn't flinch at them. We looked at the equipment they were quoting, knew it was good equipment, had trust in AirTech, knew they had hundreds of excellent reviews online, and decided to go ahead with the process. We called them up and asked when they could start. They scheduled us for the next day. That very afternoon (day before the install), Billy Wagner, President of AirTech, came to our home, walked the property with us, made sure we had all the clearances necessary for the equipment, made sure we understood what was going to be done, confirmed our wishes, made sure the salesman quoted the appropriate equipment for our home, and really took the time to make sure all of our questions were answered. Billy decided that we could benefit from 2 different units than what the salesman had quoted, explained the benefits, we asked him for a new estimate, when he gave it to use, it was almost $2000 less than the original. WOW, a company that could've made another $2,000 and didn't because they had the best interest of the customer in mind. HAVE I SAID YOU SHOULD HIRE THEM YET??? YOU SHOULD HIRE THEM!!! Day of installation. Everything from start to finish was so smooth. They arrived on time (actually 5 minutes early), called me when they were on their way (as they had said they would, but how many times have we heard, "We'll call when we're on our way" and then never get a call). They arrived, began unloading equipment, removing old equipment, and removing old duct work in the attic. They were at my home from about 9am until 8pm. I couldn't believe they stayed to finish, what a long day, I figured 5pm was gonna roll around and they were gonna come back the next morning. NOPE, they promised it would be done in one day and they kept that promise. Before leaving they setup all the new digital thermostats (very technological system), showed me how to program them, change settings, connect my wifi, use the mobile app, connect the system to my Amazon Echo, and made sure all of my questions were answered before leaving. The next few days were quite warm outside and the air would kick on here an there, WOW, we immediately noticed a huge difference. The system starts up slow, gradually increases to the speed it needs based on the algorithms in the system, and cools the house so much faster. Here's the cool part, after it's done, it shuts off the compressor outside but leaves the fan on in the attic for a few more seconds to clear all the cold air from the ducts. AWESOME, no more wasted cold air. They had mentioned that they may need to come back and do some adjustments on airflow since we went with zoning off the upstairs into 3 zones. We had a cold front come in, 3 days in the low 50s and lots of rain, nights were in the low 40s. When the heat would come on it sounded like we were in a wind tunnel and didn't seem to be adjusting itself down. About this time, we received our final invoice and warranty registrations from AirTech. I decided to do some research on the furnace's multiple speed capabilities. I looked on the manufacturer's website found my model number and starting researching the variable speed. This is where we ran into a problem. Not because of AirTech, but because of the manufacturer, American Standard. As I was researching I decided to look at the compressor unit information for the a/c as well. We were quoted and told by AirTech that they installed a 3 ton unit for our 2nd floor. According to the manufacturer website, the model number that was on our warranty paperwork was a 2 ton unit. I of course immediately called AirTech, very upset, and explained the problem. Billy, explained to me that it was in fact a 3 ton system. I was dead set on believing the manufacturer and not AirTech. Billy told me he would get the 3rd party certification documents for the unit and bring them to me when they came to adjust the airflow the following morning. I called the manufacturer and asked them to verify what the ton rating was on the model number. The representative explained it was a 3 ton unit. I pointed out that their website says it a 2 ton unit. Once they explained the way their model numbers break down to show how much tonnage, I pointed out that several of the units on their website are listed wrong. He agreed, and sent me all the necessary documentation to ease my mind. The following morning, when Billy arrived, the first thing he did was go through the 3rd party certification with me. This also showed it was a 3 ton unit. AirTech has gone above and beyond to make sure that I am satisfied as a customer and to build a customer relationship with me. They didn't just come in, throw my system together and then just disappear. They have been very responsive, very punctual and very professional, even when I was angry, they maintained and conducted themselves very well. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I TRUST AIRTECH. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW THEY HAVE EARNED A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER. THEY TRULY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND SHOW IT IN EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO. THE QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM IS UNSURPASSABLE. THANK YOU AIRTECH. TOM THOMPSON
Description of Work: STOP LOOKING , JUST HIRE AIRTECH OF HOUSTON. THEY ARE THE BEST IN HOME SERVICE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Our 2004 built home is about 3900 square feet. We had 1 single 4 ton a/c unit for the entire house. Our electric bills in August were near $400 to keep our home at 75 degrees and we pay about $0.11/kilowatt hour. So that's a pretty high bill. We decided to replace out 1 a/c unit (and furnace) with 2 new units, one for the 1st floor and 1 for the 2nd floor. We also decided to have the upstairs zoned off into 3 separate zones since all of our bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. Our master suite on 1 zone, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on another, and the game room on one zone, is how we had planned it out. AirTech Of Houston has performed maintenance on our old system before and we were very pleased with our previous experiences. They were my first (and only) call.

Found leak in condenser coil outside, under warranty (compressor itself replaced 2yr ago in this outside 5ton unit so just original coil remaining as original) . Told us there was additional leak in evaporator in attic, told repair would require complete replacement of 10lbs refrigerant at something like $140/lb ???. Total price for under warranty condenser repair would be at least $ 1,720. Recommended 16SEER replacement of whole 5ton system for $ 10,161 !!! (Did not high pressure sell, though, just advised) Left system non-functioning and electrically disabled, pressure connection panel left removed, open. Left us Houston-hot, humid and uncomfortable. Information didn't sound reasonable so told tech we would get second opinion on that info, then proceed. Called another trusted company we'd used for original installation. No leak in evaporator found after extensive detection. Added small amt of refrigerant to make system functional immediately while waiting the expected week for warranted part to come in. Lived cool and comfortable, part came in early, just two days later. Returned day part came in, recaptured most of existing system refrigerant, replaced warranted coil and drier. Re-charged system only needing the small amount of R-22 lost, NOT full 10lbs. Total invoiced repair = $ 965 NOT $1720 !!! Wasted time and $135 on AirTech of Houston, still came out ahead. Won't get fooled again.

They told me everything was right and I've been using these guys for 4 years. I was happy that they didn't nit-pick because I think they run an honest business and that's why I keep using them.
Description of Work: They did an annual check up on my A/C and made sure everything was working for the summer.
