Serviceman was unaware capacitor was blown. Instead insisted that the unit needed to be replaced and insisted that a 9 year old unit was at end of life. Unfortunately for him, I know a bit about A/C units and knew he had to be incorrect. I had to hire another company to resolve the issues unknown capacitor issue. At the end of the day this standard service call yielded nothing useful.

They were very knowledgeable and explained everything so I understood completely.

The guy came, did not perform all tasks on the maintenance list and left. i've had AC maintenance each year for 30 years and this was the worst ever

I was pleased. I think they did a good job. I've had no problems with the units. They also told me that whoever sold me the units I had before had sold me units that were larger than what I needed for the size of my house and Air Tech of Houston ended up selling me smaller units which were less costly. Very honest company.

Tech arrived within 1 hour of 3 hour window. Put on shoe coverings when inside house. Listened carefully to my explanation of issues. Inspected A/C unit in attic and allowed me to watch as I asked questions. Explained status of A/C components. Rewired a safety switch that prevented unit from starting. Inspected outdoor unit. Tested electrical control components. Tested Freon charge pressures and found to be good. Answered all questions relating to proper A/C functioning.

They always have very good specials. They are very dependable. They do a very good job. They are very courteous. And I would highly recommend them. I wouldn't be using them for long if they are not that good.

The company charged $329 to install a $9 piece of equipment that repaired the damage caused by the lightning strike. The two AC systems worked properly after the installation of this equipment. The Technician presented us with an estimate of additional charges that were supposedly required to bring the system up to "OEM"condition including protection from electrical surges. A copy of the estimate is included in the attachment. On average, the charge for each line item of service is approximately 10 times the retail cost of the component being replaced or installed. I have done the exact work myself and the total time required to do all of the listed line items would be less than two hours maximum. This works out to a rate of over $1400/hour. I contacted the company and spoke with one of their managers. The company offered to submit another estimate with lower prices. After experiencing these gouging pricing tactics, I won't be using them anymore. Pity the poor customers that do not have the experience or knowledge to enable them to recognize such predatory pricing.

I called at 4:15 pm and a tech was at our house within an hour. We were prepared to pay at least for the standard service call, but he determined that the issue was covered under warranty and charged us nothing, even after two hours of work. We previously used Fly Comfort Services and when they sold to Air Tech, we continued to use their services. We have had numerous service calls over the years, have dealt with various technicians and the owner, and have had only positive interactions. It is rare to experience real integrity and professionalism these days, but Air Tech possesses both. Highly recommended.

Went well. they were very patient while I worked on my funding/payment issues. they were very prompt in coming out (the same day) when I realized I had a problem with the A/C not working. I have used Air Tech for several years and they have always come through when I've had A/C problems.

I had the misfortune of my air conditioner going out on a Sunday. I called them and in about a couple of hours someone was at my house to fix it. Billy was professional and explained what needed to be fixed as well as showing me the parts that needed replacing. I was glad they were able to come out the same day because it was a really hot day. I would use this company again.

The technician came to our home for an annual spring tune-up. We were not experiencing any problems with cooling, but we like to keep up with the maintenance. Upon completion, the technician (Ethan) suggested that a capacitor needing replacing and he recommended a UV light for mold in the system as well as a surge protector. He showed me a picture that he took that showed the growth that he was referring to regarding the UV light. I agreed to the capacitor but told him we would pass on the UV light and surge protector. He replaced the capacitor, collected payment and left. I then sent the picture that he shared with me to an A/C guy that I know, as I wanted to know more about the UV light. I didn't use this guy for the service because he's a one-man company which means he can be difficult to schedule for routine maintenance because he gives priority to emergencies (understandable). He replied with "They're not needed it's just the sales technique. The capacitor starts the unit and if it was running before you probably didn't need one. In the attached picture everything looks clean though." I then reached out to JJ Phillips, the Office Manager at Air Tech. I let her know that I had a second verbal opinion and didn't appreciate the sales pitch. Furthermore, I advised that I looked up the capacitor that was installed, based on the model number on the invoice, and learned that it's a lower voltage unit than the one replaced. While it will still function, it will not last as long as the proper size is expected to last. I asked that they come out and replace the capacitor with the right size (at no cost) or give me a refund for the lesser one that they installed. Ultimately, their choice was to refund what I paid for the capacitor...with a caveat. I needed to provide them a photo of the lesser quality capacitor so they could have it on file for their CPA. If I was comfortable being my own A/C technician, I wouldn't have scheduled them in the first place. I told her I did not feel comfortable disassembling the unit. She said she would see if there were other options. Eventually, I grew tired of the process and opted to dispute the charge with the credit card company, Bank of America (BofA). After providing all the information requested, BofA then requested a formal letter from an A/C service stating that the capacitor was undersized. This would have cost me $100-120, on a dispute valued at $189. As you can imagine, this didn't even make sense to pursue any further with BofA and they ultimately denied my dispute. I advised JJ of the outcome and let her know that I would be writing a review about my experience. That was 29 days ago and I never heard a word back from her. In summary, I will never use Air Tech of Houston again because of their sales tactics and the way they worked to avoid refunding my money or making my situation right in an 81-day period since service was rendered.

The whole experience was relatively painless - losing your air conditioning in the heat of summer is never ideal. I sequestered myself and the dogs in the final cool room of the house and they got through it within about 5-6 hours. It was an extensive job! They took care of my wood floors by bringing blankets, they acknowledged the restless dogs and stayed out of their way, they were cognizant of neighbors and moved around if needed and took the time to explain to me what they were doing when I was asking about it. The approximate cost of service exceeds the amount I can list here, but the total cost was just under $17,000 - but this was for two condensors, replacement of all systems and thermostats.

I called in at 8:00 pm on a Friday night to 2 other companies who professed to have 24 hour service only to be told they could come Saturday morning. I then tried Air Tech. The technician Billy said he could be at my home in 30 minutes with no hesitation! He showed me exactly what was wrong with the outside unit (wires melted together leading to the capacitator) and fixed the problem in less than an hour. I was so thankful. I will certainly use this company again.

Our A/C decided to die on Friday night. I called Air Tech first thing Saturday morning and Daniel arrived at the house about 10 am. He did a complete review of my current system, confirmed my opinion that the compressor had shorted out and then evaluated the rest of the system. He found some serious problems with the installation and state of everything in the system (not a case of upselling - we knew these issues probably existed from our neighbors' similar experiences) and I decided to replace everything. I had talked to 2 other companies prior and had estimates in hand before receiving Daniel's bid. Going over a number of options, I decided to install a complete system that provided us with 16 SEER. After looking at options, I selected an American Standard system for a number of reasons: 1. American Made and assembled 2. Best ratings and reviews on multiple forums. 3. Reliability and longevity ratings. 4. Lowest noise levels in the industry. After selecting the specific system, I was asked if I would like it installed that day! I was blown away! Of course I agreed and the system was delivered at 2pm, with installation complete at 7pm. Junior was the team leader and could not have been more professional or courteous, even when answering some of my stupid questions. The team was professional, courteous and cleaned up completely after finishing the job. Although their price was initially about $1,000 more than other companies, mostly because of the price of American Standard equipment, I was given a veteran discount of 5% and a complete system discount of $375 bringing the price very much in line with other vendors who priced out Carrier systems. I also received a free Hepa Filter with the system (included by one other vendor). Every component of my HVAC was replaced, from the breaker at the wall for the compressor, to the gas lines, the drip pan, plumbing lines and everything in between - even a new pad for the compressor. In summary I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They were superb technicians and every aspect of the process was a pleasure, and they were the only company with same day service - on a Saturday no less. You can't go wrong with Air Tech.

I purchased a deal that included the routine maintenance call for A/C plus 2 lbs of coolant. Service technician arrived on time, and was able to come on the day I called. He was very professional, did all of the checks and looked at areas of concern. He added extra coolant as needed and took care of a clogged drain line. Cleaned the outside compressor/coils. He knew what he was doing, and made suggestions about what might need to be addressed with the system in the long term without being pushy. He provided a quote for suggested work should I want to pursue that.

On time and professional. Will use again.

My AC was already nice & cold before I did annual maintenance with them. It hasn't been done in like 3 years and I didn't want major break down in the future so I decided to do with them since they have the high rating reviews here. Jason from the company did annual maintenance & it all went well. A few hours after Jason did servicing, AC broke. I called them to send to check AC. Adam from the company arrived in the evening & told me AC need Motor replacement to fix it with a high cost at $600 and told me it happened for unexplainable reason. I was told that it just broke down with no reason. It's just so weird to me that AC broke on the same day their tech did servicing. I haven't touch my AC for so long & suddenly broke after their tech touch the AC. It was all good until their guy came over. I can say for sure that it broke down because of Jason. I suspect that they might want to rip me off by making my AC break down intentionally when they touch the AC. I contact them again for this but there wasn't no reply from them. I repair with another company called Air Depot & got it fix with just $81.28. I am not letting these guys touch my AC for another remaining of the annual maintenance since it consists of two visits. This is the true story. I started to wonder if they pay angies list to get the reviews. This is the true story. I have no intention of giving bad reputation to others but if I get one I will response according to the service I received.

They replaced my HVAC system and installed new digital thermostat. Very efficient, timely, knowledgeable, neat and tidy. Expensive, but glad to have a new system.

Salesman came out on a Tuesday to measure and determine scope of work, said I would have the quote that day or the next day. Didn’t have a quote by Thursday so called them and got a bad excuse and was told that they would have it done the next day. Friday still no quote so I emailed them at which point they informed me they did not want to install a system for me, so now I have lost an entire week and need to find a new AC company to install my system.
