Air Champion service man did and excellent job.

It was excellent. It was the day before Thanksgiving, which was a panic because I was hosting a family dinner. I had called my routine to have my furnace checked for the fall. They said I had cracks in my housing unit and they said I could not turn it on. It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving so I shopped around and called a couple of companies on Angie's List and had them come and give me estimates. I choose this one and said I really need this done and they were able to accommodate me. I have a story house with no formal living room. I have a great room with a 2 and half story cathedral ceiling and one wall of windows. The house was built in 1983 so they are single pane windows that have not been replaced. So that room all the heat generated up 2 and half stories was always cold on the first floor. There was only one large register serving that very large room. I talked to them about it and they were able to run some duct work and put two new small heat registers in the ceiling, which much improved the heating in the winter. They did what I needed to be done and on a very quick bases. The price was reasonable, and the service was excellent. They were very careful to keep things clean. They were up there cutting holes in the ceiling with plaster dust and they covered all the furniture up and all that down below. And I have two cats and of course they were up in the attic with the download stairway. I have one curious cat the minute she sees a ladder or stairway she tries to go up, and they were very careful to keep her out of the attic. Everything that I needed to be done they were very happy to accommodate me. I got three estimates and they were the most reasonable. Most of them were very close together. This was an Amana system that was put in. They were the cheaper of the two Amanda systems. But they were all the same size system for my house. The system is working wonderfully and I have had no problems with it in the 3 years it's been put in. They were able to meet it on a relatively quick basis and get it done in one day, which is what I needed. They got here early and they worked really really hard. It was dusk or after, it was getting dark when they left it was well into the dinner hour so it must of been 6, 6:30 or 7, but they were determined to get it done in the day. They wore the little booties on their shoes so that they didn't track things on the hardwood floors or anything like that. I have recommended them to a couple of people.

We have used them for about 25 years. The guy we used for 21 years has left, but we still use the company. I think we pay something each year for a contract. They come out twice a year to check the air conditioning and heating. We have had the same air conditioning unit for 25 years so they do something right. We are going to be changing it sometime soon, but don't fix it if it's not broke.

We have been using this company for over 12 1/2 years. They are very responsive and they take care of any of our issues quickly.

I have been using this company for years with no problems. Please keep in mind that I had to 5 days for this service and my tenant had no a/c during this time. I was a loyal Air Champion customer and the weather was not too hot, so we were patient. The tech did a good job and the a/c was finally cooling for my tenant. But, I was very worried about a water drip going on to the floor and potentially leaking to the unit below. After several hours, I called Air Champion myself where I encountered a dispatcher, who did not provide his name, and who seemed indifferent at best. He told me I would have to wait for the managers to locate this hard to find material and he did not know when that would be. When I mentioned that I was concerned about this water drip and that the waiting period seemed very vague, he told me that if I was so concerned, just don't run the a/c. This was AFTER I spent $600 on the repair and this is Houston. I called the next day and spoke with a dispatcher named Josh who actually listened to my concern but said the managers had to find the materials and they would call me. I called the next day (Wed) and got the same response. No one had any idea when this hard to find material would be located. The managers just did not seem to care. On Sunday 4/19/15, we went to the condo to check the unit and wrap some insulation around the condensing pipe to give us piece of mind. When we opened the air handler, the pipe was not condensing but there was definitely a trickle/ of water coming from another area. Since I personally observed the condensing pipe the week before, I assumed that the unit not working for 5 days during humid weather and then all of a sudden turning on, contributed to the condensing pipe. I believe this was an honest misdiagnosis and resolved to call Air Champion again on Monday to get someone back out there. I called yesterday 4/20/15 and encountered another indifferent, no name provided, dispatcher who did not seem to care. I explained the original problem and what I had done and discovered later. I also expressed my displeasure at NO ONE following up with me. The dispatcher did not seem inclined to schedule any service for me. By this time, I was very very very very angry and said that I felt like I was being jerked around and did not appreciate any of this situation. More indifference. I finally said that if I did not have a resolution immediately, I would write my review on Angie's List. He said that I would have to talk to the manager, Tory. I left Tory a message. Surprise, surprise, no response. I like the techs for this company but the dispatchers/managers seem to be on a mission to ruin this company and drive away all their customers. I used them for years on my personal home and my rental property. I own my own business and really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I would never treat my customers this way.

They're good and a few years ago when I was actually first looking for them, I had to buy a new air conditioner. That was something I was really concerned about, making sure it's the appropriate size and energy conservative, and they recommended one and did it real efficiently. I've used them ever since then.

I have used Air Champion for several years and this is the 4th unit I have purchased from them. The work was completed on schedule, the crew very professional and the new unit is now running and my electric bill dropped. Tim who came out to do the estimate was also very professional and provided me with several alternative units. I opted not to go with the 2 stage unit and new duct work. I actually had 5 bids which I put on an excel sheet to compare each and their price was very competitive.

Tim came to us within 2 hours of our call to provide a quote. He listened to our particular situation, evaluated our current setup, then sat with us for approximately 30 to 45 minutes to explain our options and go over the quotes. Tim booked the installation to occur within 48 hours to meet our desired schedule. The crew arrived as scheduled and performed as professionally as any of the best contractors we have experienced in the past. The crew lead even checked our second system while they were here and topped it off with refrigerant for free. Ironically, we experienced a brown out, immediately following the installation, due to an electrical transformer in the area going bad. The crew lead assisted us in verifying that the problem was not in our home and remained in our house until we could verify with our electric company that it was their problem. Absolutely pleasant experience all things considered. $100 discount with Angie's List coupon to boot.

Not the lowest price of the quotes I received for the work (5 estimates), but the most professional assessment of the problems with the old system and how best to address them with the new. The estimator, Tim, was thorough and prepared the estimate for me right there at the end of his visit, providing several alternatives. The crew arrived on time, covered the stairs and carpet and were fast yet unhurried in their work. They were clearly experienced and executed the rerouting of ducts and repositioning of the attic unit very well. They tested everything before they left and showed me how to use the new thermostat. They cleaned up the work area in the attic and there was no sign in the house that workers had been there. Very pleased with the work and the company. Definitely recommend them for AC work.

This is the 2nd year we've had them come out to replace Freon in our poor, old AC unit due to a slow leak. They've always been honest in letting us know all of our options and have supported our option of seeing how much more we can get out of our old units. They were even nice enough to let us know things we could do on our own to up the ACs performance, rather than doing the labor and charging us the extra expense. We will definitely be calling them in to replace our units when the time comes.

They were quick and efficient. Very clean and professional crew that performed everything according to promised schedule.

They sent a technician out here the same morning I called them, and it took him about half an hour to find and fix the problem. He traced it to a a faulty capacitor in the unit they installed two years ago. He replaced it with a better quality capacitor, and that took care of the problem. The work was covered by warranty, so there was no charge. The technician was pleasant to deal with and very professional. I was thoroughly satisfied.

I was told that technician, Armando, would call me and no one called me. I called them 3 times. I would not recommend Champion Air. This company is not reliable and do not return customer's phone calls. They need to be removed off Angie's List!! I know what company I called and I know exactly what I was told. The statements I wrote are true.

Work performed in our home, which was a rental house at the time while we were living abroad, so I (the owner) was unable to see or verify the quality of the job as it was completed in May. I have several complaints/issues with the way this was handled. 1) As I was outside the country, I requested a scanned copy of the invoice two times when I was speaking with the office on the phone, and the administration personnel in the office never sent me a copy. 2) Upon arriving at the house july 9th, approx. 2 months after the work we discovered a very poor job. The A/C was not cooling properly (prompting the immediate inspection), and when the attic portion of the unit was inspected, it was noted that where they had cut an inspection hole in the transition section which was not repaired properly. It appeared they tried to use metal duct work tape to secure the hole. This had totally blown off and the unit was blowing a tremendous amount of air into the attic. The transition section should have been replaced and installed properly. 3) Additionally, the evaporator coil was not securely installed and had fallen a little causing significant leaks between the transition and the coil. 4) The coil was not installed at the correct angle either, so it did not drain properly. 5) The freon copper low pressure cool lines in the attic were left with insulation missing and not taped properly, so they dripped water onto the attic floor and insulation (if left unattended could have caused water damage to our sheet rock ceiling below this area of the attic) . 6) They also left a lot of their trash from the work in my attIc, another sign of unprofessionalism. What a very unprofessional job in all respects. The people that performed the work at my home do not seem to have any respect or care for the customer and the customer's property. What is sad is that I am happy to pay higher prices to get quality work, but this is higher prices and unprofessional workmanship. I have cut my losses and moved on to try another company, too bad the industry is plagued with this type of customer experience.

Checked. Nothing needed. Found freon levels ok. The cost of $179 includes coming back in the fall for Fall check of heaters. Will use again and recommend to others.

Units were installed in a timely professional manner. Serviceman thoroughly explained how to use new thermostat. Installation took one day and about an hour the next morning.

Very prompt, very courteous, didn't try to sell expensive services or equipment. Just fixed the problem quickly for a reasonable price.

Overall experience has been excellent!

The service and professionalism were great. Minimum charge for showing up on Saturday was $89, which i was fine with. it took 1hr 15min from the time the tech called me until completion. I was charged $175. the bill charges $89 for showing up then itemizes charges for everything the tech looked at. I thought that was strange, maybe it is normal, i don't know. I thought the cost would be $89 per hr with $89 minimum but it ended up being a lot more.

Our air conditioner was not keeping up with the thermostat setting. The honest advice and quick service that the Airchampions technicians gave us is invaluable. We are new to Angie's List and are very happy with our first experience. Thanks Angie!

The price was competitive as it included a maintenance on two A/C units now and on the furnace in the fall. The only thing that bothered me was how quick the service was. I did not accompany the tech into the attic so cannot verify his work. I can say that we have had no problems since the service was performed. I would probably use this company again as I can find no fault with the work performed.
