The company’s representative was a NO-SHOW for our scheduled appointment. The woman answering the office phone did not really seem to care. After checking back the following day.... same response! I again left a message for the young nan and never heard back. If this is how they treat prospective customers, I would hate to see how they respond should a problem arise during a pool remodel!

I have been attempting to get them to come look at my pool and spa for a renovation. I have called four times because they were recommended to me by the company that constructed our pool and spa. I left a message once; spoke to someone three times who said they would (1) come look at the pool/spa on a Monday or (2) would call me back to schedule a time or (3) make sure the person saw my message. I have yet to have anyone actually come by or schedule an appointment. I am moving on.

Gentleman came, looked, gave estimate, told us to go to place of business to choose tile, but lady in charge was very unhappy we showed up there and finally we just left. No one ever contacted us again so we will find a company who really really wants to work for us.

The final result and professionalism from start to finish exceeded my expectations. Steve with Adams Tile and Plaster worked with me from initial bid, was on site every day through construction, and guided me through the critical but simple Pebble Tec pool start-up. I accepted his contract in April 2016 but wasn't able to start until February 2017 when no leaves or debris were falling. When I was ready to go, Steve started on my job within a few days. The job (retile and replaster with Pebble Sheen Irish Mist) took 4 days, Monday through Friday, with one rain day. Steve was on site every day for hours, his crew each day was experienced and diligent, and Steve or his crew chief answered my every question. Steve noticed some additional problems I had and corrected them also (experience is a plus here). By Friday night my pool was filled, the pump was running, and the job site was immaculate. (BTW, when I wrote Steve a check at completion, it was for exactly the amount we had agreed upon 10 months prior). Then the pool start-up process began. With Steve's daily advice over the phone, and my checking the pool water chemistry and following his advice re: pH and total alkalinity, then calcium hardness, etc., my chemistry was balanced after 7 days as expected. Stressless job for me, resulting in an excellent and gorgeous professional remodel with Adams Tile and Plaster. Thanks, Steve. Very professional, knowledgable and highly recommended! PS: Don't rely on millennial kids in the pool store for your pool water test. They don't take the time needed to do accurate testing and their results are consistent. Get a quality and easy-to-use pool test kit from TFTestkits.net and test your own water to avoid possibly major problems.
Description of Work: My pool is 15 years old and needed to be retiled and replastered. Due to the durability, ease of start-up and warranty of Pebble Tec products, I chose this surface instead of traditional plaster. I have much plant debris overhanging my pool and needed a contractor that could work within a short debris-free window in February or in May. I chose Adams Tile and Plaster due to their excellent reputation, decades of experience with Pebble Tec, and an A+ recommendation from a discerning and knowledgable neighbor. She provided photos and details about her great experience with them, so I knew what to expect. Another huge advantage was working directly with the contractor from start to finish - communication was clear, no subcontractors to deal with, no surprises.

I called them because we used them three years earlier. The pool looks great and I'm sure we have no trouble selling it. It went just fine but we had to wait a little while because they were backed up on other jobs. They came when they said they were coming and they did it. We were out running an errand when they left. I like everything about them. They did the job you want done and they were very good at their work but we won't be using them because we are moving to an apartment.

Came out and looked at the work we wanted done. Took forever to get us the estimate and when we did receive it it was for another customer, totally different work to be done, our address with a different zip code. They never followed up.

Response from Adams Tile & Plaster
I went out to the [member name removed] job on February 25, 2013 and met with Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed]. They were very nice homeowners and explained to me what they wanted to do to the swimming pool and surrounding decking remodel. I took down all the measurements that I needed and informed them that I would have to work up the estimate back at my office. It was going to be a large remodel. I contacted my concrete contractor to discuss the job, since a portion of the deck was falling away from the pool and needed to be removed. Also, the [member name removed] wanted to add decking and planters around some palms in the backyard. He did take a few days to get back to me with a number which I incorporated into my bid. I included several different tile & coping options, 5 different plaster options, 3 different decking options as well as multiple deck topping options. It was an extensive bid that I felt I had worked up to the best of my ability. This time of the year is always extremely busy, but I finished the bid on March 1, 2013 and wrote up the proposal. I scanned it into the computer so that I could email it to the [member name removed]. Apparently, something happened at that point. As you can read, the [member name removed] did not get my email, but instead got a mailed proposal, that was not even the correct one. I am embarrassed to admit that I am not sure what happened, except to say that 2 estimates must have gotten mixed up on this end. I saw the Angies list review and was shocked to learn that they had never received the proposal. I have since called Mrs. [member name removed] and apologized for the confusion and to follow up. Since it has been a month and a half, they have understandably signed with another contractor. I only wish I would have known sooner so that I could have correctted my mistake and set things straight. I can honestly say that this has never happened to me before, and I will strive to make sure it does not happen again. We are a family owned and operated company and for the past 35+ years have always tried to provide the best possible service to all of our customers.

Well I already had a pool that needed to be resurfaced so they sand blasted the old plaster and if there was bad spots in the plaster they fixed that they also did some other stuff but I'm not sure what it was. They also replaced all plastic fittings were the water comes out when the pool is on and they matched it to the color of the pebble tech I picked. They always cleaned up there mess everytime they were there. It seem like the whole process from start and filling it up back with water was about a week and 1/2. Filling up the pool with water probably took the most time. You have to be real careful with your chemicals when you first start out. We have a pool service that came out and checked it every few days for about a week maybe longer. It is very important to do that. Overall I was pleased, I hope this helps.
Description of Work: They did a good job and we did have to have them come back for some calcium build up on the pebble tech and they got it right off. In fact they will be coming back out to get a few more spots for us almost a year later at no cost. They are the only few that are licensed pebble tech pool installers so be careful with anybody that isn't. Pebble tech will not warranty their product unless they are.

Description of Work: Adams Tile & Plaster was one of three companies contacted for a bid on resurfacing my pool, and replacing the ceramic tile. I specifically wanted either PebbleTec or PebbleSheen, and Adams is one of the few companies in the area that is trained and authorized to install this product. Jeremy was the sales contact who came to my home and gave me the estimate. He was on time, very professional, and great to work with. He brought samples of the PebbleTec and PebbleSheen and explained the differences, advantages, and disadvantages of both the product and the various color choices. After consideration of all three bids, I selected Adams Tile as the contractor, and went to their business location to select the tile, and confirm my choice of "White Diamonds" PebbleSheen for my pool resurfacing. They had a huge selection of tiles to choose from, and I was very happy with my choice. Contract was finalized on 3/16/12, and work commenced on 3/28/12. All of the crews were very professional and did a great job. They cleaned up after each stage of the work, and because of one day lost due to rain, even came to my house on Sunday, 4/1/12, to finish the final clean-up, and start refilling the pool. The pool looks beautiful and the tile adds the perfect contrast between the White Diamonds finish and the existing brick coping around the top edge of the pool. I will definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in the PebbleTec or PebbleSheen product. Note: Adams was selected based on lowest bid for the job. One of the other companies was much higher, and added in a lot of things that I didn't ask for, and the third company did not offer PebbleTec or PebbleSheen, but did have a composite finish that I was interested in. Their price was lower than Adams, but the warranty was unsatisfactory.

Adam's Tile and Plaster didn't use any harmful chemicals. The air blasting dulled the tile quite slightly. We were pleased with the service.
Description of Work: The calcium deposits to be air blasted off. They also repaired a leak in the hollow tile.
