I told him how we wanted the tree trimmed. He gave me his opinion on how the tree should be trimmed according to the condition of tree, the type of tree (Ash tree) and how to protect the tree and still have it looking good. He and his crew arrived on a Saturday mornining at 8:00AM and were done at 1:00pm. Two guys I'm happy I took his suggestions because the tree looks great!

Nolan and crew arrived on Monday morning as scheduled. They went right to work in my back yard. They worked in a very efficient manner and did an excellent job. Nolan stayed with the crew to make sure everything was done properly and carefully. I was very impressed with how they were so organized performing each task. I will definitely use them again.

Arrived on time, cleaned up all debris, completed in approximately 7 hours (1 day). True professionals.

Nolan showed up to give me an estimate at the time we had agreed on. His crew completed the job in 2 days as expected and cleaned up all debris. I added on a few extra trees from the original estimate which he took care of for a very reasonable amount. His crew did an excellent job reshaping the 2 oaks which were damaged during Ike and cleared wild growth between aq fence line and garage without damaging either one.

Good experience, prompt response to a request for an estimate and scheduling. The clean up of pruned limbs was good.

Nolan Strange (the owner) was the only one of the three people I called to arrive at the scheduled time to give me an estimate. And he was the low bidder, to boot. His crew arrived to perform the work at about 8 am on the agreed-upon day, and after we went over the scope of work again, I left him and his crew to do the job. I came home to a big pile of mulch (well, future mulch) and an otherwise clean yard. No problems. Nolan admitted that the stump was bigger than he expected, but he stuck to his price. He called later that evening to confirm that the work was done the way I wanted. Very nice. Very professional.

The company responded promptly after I left them a message giving them my address and telling them the work I needed done and asking for an estimate. I missed their first call, but after calling them back, the company had someone come by in a couple of days to meet with me to discuss the work scope. The company rep that came was very knowledgeable, offered some suggestions and recommendations, and gave me an estimate on the spot. After agreeing on the price, the rep returned the following day with his crew and completed the work in one afternoon. They clean the work area nicely after all the tree trimming was finished. They had a limb shredder with them and were shredding the tree branches and leaves as they were trimmed off the trees. I was very pleased with their work and will definitely use them again in the future. (Note: I had contacted Dons Trees by email but never received a response from them. Don's Trees was also on Angie's List and had a very good rating.)

We had trouble growing grass in our yard, so we wanted our trees trimmed back a lot. Mr. Strange walked the property with me and gave me an estimate. We decided that three of our trees were too crowded, so he gave us a price on removing one of them. He also pointed out a dead tree that might be removed if we chose to do so. His men showed up promptly and he came to show them exactly which limbs to cut and to walk the property with me to insure that I was satisfied with what we had discussed. His men cleaned up everything beautifully. We will use his company to aerate and seed our yard when the time comes. Excellent work! He is very knowledgeable about trees. I would highly reccommend Ace.

They provide decent quality tree trimming at a bargain price. They cleaned up well and I got good value for the service. If you need more scientific, "arborist" work, look elsewhere and pay double the price. For 90% of your needs, this is the place.

When contacted regarding an estimate, Mr. Strange promptly returned my call and scheduled to come by the following day to give an estimate for the work. He followed up with a call stating what could be performed, when and for what cost. We discussed the job and the company's insurnace. He faxed me a signed copy of the estimate and his insurance. Although he could have done the work within two days of my contacting him, I scheduled the work for a week later. Mr. Strange and his crew of three arrived on time at 8:30am. We again discussed the job prior to his men beginning work. To cut down two trees and trim a thrid took 6.5 hours. They worked in a safe manner, conscious not to cause any damage to other landscaping, buildings and hardscape. The crew took a one hour lunch, as was to be expected, and finished at 3:00. They cleaned up well. In order to facilitate the mulching machine, they took down part of a hurricane fence (with my approval), and replaced it when finished. Mr. Strange's brother was unabale to grind out the stumps that Friday but committed to complete the work the following Monday and allowed me to post-date a check to assure the job would be completed. Mr. Strange talked about the grinding process and suggested that the resultant mulch be used to fill the divots caused by the weght to the cut limbs. When I got home from work on the following Monday, the stump grinding had been completed and the site was again cleaned up. I highly recommend Ace Tree Specialist. They are knoweldgeable, professional, and the price was very good compared to other estimates I received. I will continue to use their services to trim my trees.

It went very well. I called Ace Tree and left a message, they called me back the following day, I scheduled a time the next day for Nolan to come out and give me a quote. We discussed the work to be done, agreed on a price and scheduled the work for a couple of days later. They arrived on time to do the work and did a thorough and efficient job, the tree looks nice. They cleaned up well and left my yard clean like they found it. Overall I would highly recommend Nolan and Ace Tree.

Outstanding experience. Nolan was on time for the estimate. He was knowledgeable. He kept us advised on when they could do the work and was timely. His crew was polite and efficient and they cleaned up the area before leaving. The trees look great. We were very pleased.

Very pleased with the job done. The men arrived around 3 p.m. and left about 7 p.m. Raked lawn, swept street and sidewalk.

My two huge oak trees had not been trimmed in at least seven years (the time I have lived in my house). Nolan came out and gave me an estimate and we scheduled the work. Afterward, my trees looked great -- like they had had a good haircut. The fertilization they did became obvious when I got little circles of really happy grass around each tree. The workers cleaned up after the job. Nolan came back out that evening to make sure all was well and made recommendations for future maintenance. I plan to continue to use them as my regular tree service -- especially since Hurricane Ike affirmed for me the good job they did -- I lost some smaller branches but all the heavy branches stayed intact and virtually nothing fell on my roof, even though one of the trees overhangs the house significantly. My trees are strong and healthy.

Company was overwhelmed with work, understandably. However, I received an update nearly every day as to what was going on and a new time estimate given as to when they could get out to give me a cost estimate, then again when they could perform the work of removing the tree. Once I was given a firm date, the crew was there, on time, and removed this huge tree and placed the debris neatly on the curb in under one hour! They were too busy to do stump grinding at the time, but I am definitely calling them when things calm down a bit to have them do that last bit of work.

I have two large oak trees that had grown reaching over part of the roof of the house. The crew was on time as scheduled and completed the job and cleaned the debris from the yard. The trees look great and I expect they will benefit from the attention.

I called on aug 14th. Mr Strange came out on aug 21st and surveyed my property. He told me he and his crew would come out sept 5th. They did not show up that morning. I called and left a message. By 2 in the afternoon I called again and left a message. They did not come that day. They called the next morning and said they would be out that day. He called back 30 min later and said he was short a climber and could not come that day. He stated he would come the following week. On sept 12th he left a message that he could not come that day, and offered to call the next week. I'm wondering if he will ever actually show up. I hope I have not offended him somehow. Mr. Strange was polite and professional and willing to listen to my suggestions. But i do want this work done.

The company sent a large crew to tackle the job. Mr. Strange came by later in the day to check on the crew's progress. We asked if the crew could also remove two old ligustrum bushes and a large holly bush; Mr. Strange was happy to help. The crew ground out the stumps of both the shrubs and the oak, leaving nothing but sawdust (a great fertilizer!) behind in the yard. The work was all completed in one business day. I would highly recommend this company.

Everything went exceptionally well. I called for a free quote and Mr. Strange came at the scheduled time and gave me a quote. His price was right and we set up a time a few days later. His quote was the best out of three and I usually don't go with the lowest price but Mr. Strange was very pleasant to deal with and extremely knowledgeable about his business. The crew appeared the scheduled day and in less than a few hours the trees were gone. The next day someone came to grind the stumps and the job was done.

His crew did a great job. They were flexible, adding on the neighbor's tree trimming and also cutting more off the pecan tree than they originally thought. Nolan was easy to work with and a great guy. The Hackberry stump they left was a little larger than I thought it would be, but that is because it is full of chain link fence that it grew around. We will have to drill holes in it and put stump removal stuff in it.

The crew was on time and cleaned up after completing the work. Mr. Strange personally supervised the work and was very polite.
