ABSOLUTE COMFORT AIR CONDITIONING

I have been without a working HVAC unit since 11/18/2023 and it is now 1/4/2024. I have approved the quote (which took almost a month to generate for some reason) but I can not for the life of me get someone to schedule my service/repair.

I called Absolute Comfort Air when my AC stopped working.i called them because Tom Tynan from the radio Home Show always recommends them. The technician came out the same day (Wednesday). The technician was knowledgeable and spent about 20 minutes and ended up diagnosing my problem as a bad capacitor. He replaced the capacitor and the unit worked again. I was shocked when he said the charge would be $422. That is outrageous for a $25 part and 20 minutes of work. Do not use this company unless you get all the pricing before the work is done. I will certainly never use them again.

I purchased a 19-point inspection on my AC to try to diagnose an issue where the A/C was not cooling efficiently. The agent, Andrew, arrived at the house within a couple days, good response time. The agent showed me some video of icky stuff in my AC and said he would send a report that evening. That weekend, I called their office and they told me the service department would get back to me on Monday. Nothing. I called them multiple times on Wednesday and Thursday. Finally, on Thursday they sent me a QUOTE to fix the poorly described issues totaling around $8,000. However, I did not get a complete report on the 19-point inspection about what else might be okay or not okay. I called again later and talked to the service manager, who said he would get the report for me. I never heard from them again, and to this day I have not received the report. In the meantime, I called another provider. That provider diagnosed that my coolant levels were low and my A/C unit outside was dirty. He fixed everything for ~$200, and the problems he fixed were not even listed on Absolute Comfort's quote. I don't know if Absolute Comfort found those issues but did not ever send me the report. $200 for a fix that resolved the issue was much better than an $8,000 that didn't seem to include the issues the second company found.

Michael did a great job. He went into the attic and diagnosed that the transformer in the furnace was broken. He replaced it and now it is working properly.

This review involves the handling of an air conditioning issue through American Home Shield (AHS). The air conditioner units were no longer cooling. After contacting AHS, they assigned Absolute Air Conditioning & Heating to address the issue. The company reached out to me on the same day and scheduled an appointment. On August 27, 2018, Erik arrived at 12:10 pm. Erick and I proceeded upstairs to look at the indoor air conditioning units. Following the inspection of the upstairs units, Erik headed outdoors to look at the two outdoor units. Following his examination and testing of those units Erik advised me that he would need to add refrigerant as both units were low. I agreed to the work. Erik added stop leak and four pounds of 410A freon to one unit; and stop leak and seven pounds of 410A freon to the second unit. He back tested service valves and leak locked. My air conditioning units are now working nicely. Overall, Erik was very professional, and cordial. He advised me of every aspect of his work. Nice job.

I was unsatisfied and felt uneasy about the whole transaction. He claimed there was an issue and kept insisting I allow him to fix it even when I told him I had a home warranty and would follow up with them. I had an filter for him to change during his visit, he moved it acted as though he didn't know where it was but could sell me another one. When I told him he would have to replace it without charge, he miraculously found it. He acted as though he didn't know how much Freon my unit was low, he didn't want to give me an amount the visit would cost. I felt so uncomfortable with him, I call the office to give payment. My unit went down a few weeks ago and I was in a hotel for three days, that was the purpose of the tune up. I wanted a professional to evaluate my system to prevent that from happening during the heat of the summer. I would have done better to throw money out of the window that to use this company. Things happen, but the whole transaction felt shady and like bad business.
