Description of Work: Replace cooling unit. It went quite well. They arrived as scheduled and set to work. Our old unit was removed and the new one installed. They are a little pricey, but always professional in attitude and quality of service.

Description of Work: I had a slow pipe leak in between my walls that was only noticeable when my bottom cabinets began to warp. I called Abacus plumbing to find out exactly where the leak was coming from and to get a estimate of the repair cost. First of all when the service man got there he didn't look outside at the damp walls or under the sink. He said he could not tell me where the leak was coming from nor did he have any instruments that could tell me where the leak was coming from. He said he would have to run a $500 sismic-do-hickey test that may or may not detect the leak. Then he would have to remove and replace all the piping. At that point I left the room to call another plumber while my husband continue talking to this person who obviously thought we were stupid. He wrote up an estimate, without knowing where the leak was, for $13,000. Thank goodness Katy plumbers came out shortly afterwards. The service guy examined the outside and inside of my walls, used a instrument to determine moisture. He then ran a small camera between the wall and pinpointed exactly where the leak was coming from. He wrote an estimate of repair for $1600. After being shocked by the first estimate of $13,000,although I knew it wasn't legitimate, I was happy to pay Katy plumbers $1600 and told him to start that day with repairs. Needless to say I will never, ever, ever, ever use Abacus plumbing or recommend their services. They have dishonest employees.

Description of Work: The representative for ABABUS Plumbing did an excellent job. I had a urgent situation with my water heater and ABABUS Plumbing access the situation and politely and clearly presented the problem (a slow and small leaking water heater that had caused rust to form and potential cause a huge failure in containment)and wrote out all options for replacement and cost in detail. Although, I knew it had to be replaced immediately (and the representative knew it also), there was absolutely NO obnoxious pressure to buy. Everything was included in the quote price. NO surprises or asking for more money because a problem was found. One price means ONE price.

Description of Work: Whole house replacement of 50 year old galvanized pipes with Pex pipe & replacement of water heater ruined by rust from old pipes. The plumbing work was done well & performed the week of Thanksgiving at my request. I was fully informed as the multi-day job progressed. And the work passed city inspection with no problem on the first attempt. However, the sheetrock repairs done by an outside company referred by Abacus did not go as well & I had to call them back to the house multiple times over the period of a month to get satisfactory results. There is no denying their prices are high, but the quality of work is good & reliable & they stand behind their warranties.

Description of Work: I called them to see if they could come to my home to check my water heater out and give me a quote for a new one. They told me I would have to pay a call out fee. Why should I have to pay someone to come and give me a quote? Hence my not using them!

Description of Work: I made an appointment early in the week to get a leak in my upstairs bathroom repaired. Water was dripping on my downstairs ceiling. Took off work, was told they would be on site between 12-5 PM. Was not called to cancel until around 3:30. I feel they could have call earlier in the day so I could have contact another supplier.
