Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Electrical

Looking to replace my 15 yr A/C unit before the summer. John came out and reviewed our system and gave us the options on each of the different units from a one speed to a variable speed units. He was very knowledgeable and personable and did his best to make the sale. I will say the units are pricy compared to other options I looked at. I saw him put the quote together on his pad and supposedly sent it to our email address. It did not show up. Called the office and asked them to resend and snail mail it to me. It has now been a week with no quote. I had the same issue from them for replacing the water heaters and still no quote after nearly 2 weeks. Makes me wonder if they will only do the job if you sign the contract that day.

I feel the service person went above and beyond and did extra work even though this is a free service as a membership twice a year. He was very thorough and professional. We love Abacus.

Very professional, thorough, and took time to explain everything. Left a very good impression. Received a good quote which was slightly higher than I was looking to spend, so I did not move forward with them. I would recommend and consider hiring Abacus for future work.

The technician showed up on time as promised. We discussed the work that I wanted done. He went out to his truck to put a quote together, which took him over an hour. He came back with a price of more than $6,000. I'm not a plumber, but I knew immediately this guy was trying to rip me off! The written quote showed $2,880 for the sink alone. I found the sink online for $422. I asked him to send me a quote for the plumbing parts and labor only and I would purchase the other items myself... no response. I chose Abacus for a quote based on their Angie's List rating and the number of reviews. Not sure why this guy thought he would get $6k from me for this small job. I did contact another plumber who came back with a reasonable price. I will be using them.

We had an emergency water issue on late Saturday night that was about to reflood our home right after we had just finished our Harvey Flood Remodel. I called Abacus early Sunday morning and they came within the hour. Greg our technician was great and really knew his stuff. Not only did he repair the faulty work of a previous plumber, but he fixed several other issues that would have given us problems down the road. I will definitely use Abacus again for any issues.

The inspection went well. No major issues. New air filters were installed if necessary (two units in home). Service technician was very professional and thorough.

Job was performed as described. Teams were professional and took care of our home inside and out. A bit higher than some but piece of mind was worth it.

As usual, Abacus responded promptly to our call, arrived on time, provided an accurate estimate and completed the work as promised. Their staff are professional, friendly, and extremely neat. We've used them for plumbing services in the past and have always been more than satisfied. They're probably not the lowest cost provider of these services, but you get what you pay for. We would recommend them without reservation.

PERFECT!!! the electrician that came out, Kevin, was actually a little early which was very refreshing. He was polite, professional and extremely competent. He went to work and had the problem fixed very quickly and cleaned up after himself. All at a very reasonable rate. Abacus and Kevin get an AAA rating from me.

Other plumbers had let us down - no shows after waiting in twice. Gregg came within the 2 hour time slot, put on his plastic shoe covers, came in & looked at the problem. Discussed ways to investigate location of leak & price. Everything went well, leak was found & then Gregg called company to bring machines to dry out damaged areas & another company to come in approx 5 days to fix damaged areas of ceiling. Very professional & a job very well done.

After a diy project horribly wrong, my husband let me hire abacus to fix the issue. they came out, fixed the issue and cleaned up afterward.

Plumber come and determined that valve was ok as is and did not need replacement. We discussed and left the valve in place. Nice outcome as no need to spend the money. Greatly appreciated the honesty and professionalism. We’ve used Abacus before and will again.

I knew the fuse box needed replacement, so called Abacus to come out and inspect it and make a recommendation.. The technician was on time, professional and personable. He replaced 2 light fixtures I had gotten for the kitchen and bathroom and caught a bad light switch which he replaced. I was very pleased by the service provided and will use them again when the need arises.

They came out promptly. The repairman shut off the water and came back the next day to put in the facucet. Had to call them back because the new facucet leaked. Price was high over 600 to put a facucet in. I bought the facucet. Just for install

I called to have my under-mounted sink, which fell away from the counter, re-installed. This was right after the hard freeze in Houston, so understandably plumbers were backed up. I explained exactly what the issue was and they scheduled me for their first-available appointment, a week and a half out. I was sympathetic to the long wait time, given how busy plumbers in Houston were at the time. I took the day off of work and they called at the beginning of my appointment time to say they'd call 30 minutes before the plumber was to come out. About a half hour later, they called to tell me that they couldn't do the work and that a counter person would need to do it. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. They had all the information they needed when they scheduled my appointment. I waited a week and a half without the use of my kitchen sink because they scheduled me to the do the work I told them I needed done. I have used them in the past for HVAC issues and they've been great. That is why I am giving them a C as opposed to an F. I will now need to wait even longer to get my kitchen back in use because I now have to find a counter person to do it. Had they told me they couldn't do the work (instead of scheduling me and making me wait a week and a half and take a day off of work), I would have been able to find another professional who likely would have had my sink repaired with much less wait. They were completely unprofessional.

Technician was great, very professional and loved the text with his picture, so that I knew who was coming to my door (safety!) The Work was done quickly and quietly as I had clients and was working from home. He explained everything so I could pass the information along to my husband. Highly recommend Abacus.

Have not gotten to the bottom of the issue (after paying almost $2,000to have pipe cleaned out) Had to pay twice for same bathroom back up. Also have a leak from upstairs bathroom. Ceiling in kitchen stained. He told me to use the shower and see if the stain gets bigger. Am a “concierge” member.... They didn’t show yesterday (after confirming 2 times during the day) to look at why two of my toilets and pool are still backing up. Today company called saying they could send someone out. Nothing moved forward. Technician said he had to call his boss to get camera back out... I had scheduled an electrician to come out. I just cancelled electrical appointment... I’m fed up. Had appointment window between 12-3.... they just said he can be here at 5:30. I have 3 sconces, a chandelier and a Nest to be installed. This is too late to BEGIN the work. Very disappointed.

Excellent , Vance did a great job. Bob came out and gave me a complete analysis on my system and pointed out a few areas of concern I may need to address in the near future if not now. Great guys.

Things went mostly well; however, someone forgot to seal one of the toilets afterward. We noticed a "sewer smell" (faint, but there) for a while before I convinced my mom to call them back. When the initial repair guy came out, he quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it.
