Then the Frosting on the cake is, I paid him for Supplies and Time to put Screens on my Crawl Space, WHICH HE NEVER DID JAKE HUNOLD WILL GLADLY ACCEPT YOUR JOB, THEN LEAVE WITH A SMILE AS HE TAKES YOUR MONEY IT HAS BEEN A YEAR Truly believe what Goes around will come around
Description of Work: Leveling my house, and then taking money for screening in my house, which he was PAID BUT NEVER DID!!!!

+ -1 morePurchased home the and was given a one year warranty document. The house had some leveling issues. I contacted Jake and he said that he remembered my home, he would be able to come take a look the next week, and that maybe he would not be able to get to it for a few weeks because he was having a baby. Seemed fine. He was nice on the phone. He seemed like a straight shooter, that he would followup, and would contact me in the next few weeks. I waited maybe two weeks. He had not come by. I called and left a voice mail. Did not hear back. I know having a baby is stressful the first few weeks. I called him a few more times. Never heard back. Sent a text. No response. I have called a number of times and never get a response :( He said my home would be an easy fix to just re-level some of the areas that had probably settled as my house was heavily remodeled. I am a bit surprised with the lack of follow up / thru after that initial conversation of him seeming very down to earth, responsive, and just a regular guy who had a lot on his plate. The investor, Brant Phillips, had a lot of work done thru Jake/A1 House leveling at my home. I am hoping I somehow fell thru the cracks, maybe got accidentally blocked?? Not sure.... If I get Jake to come out, will update with information. Have a blessed day.

+ -1 moreNot a foundation company - scammers. These guys don't even own an altimeter. The father showed up to give me a quote for you foundation repair without an altimeter...and without even a level. I asked how he was going to do this...he said "experience." I was assuming they would show up at the job with an altimeter....nope. the son shows up with two guys he picked up from home Depot....no idea what they are doing. They left with my foundation over 2" off and worse off than when they arrived. Please stay away!!!

+ -1 moreThese guys are a joke! Jake's Dad came out to give me a quote on leveling my foundation. I asked if brought a level or any equipment...he said "no, I have years of experience." That should have been my first clue. Son, Jake, the owner, shows up with two laborers he probably picked up from the Home Depot parking lot...cuts a coupe beams to lower the center and leaves the house about 2" low in other areas. Why aren't you going to level the house? Well the rest would require a lot of work was his response. Do not hire these guys! Even the owner Jake doesn't have any equipment to actually measure the floor. These guys are phonies that get by ripping people off!

We knew it need to be leveled, but before A-One House Leveling came out, we did not realize how much work and materials were needed to get the job done. Jake explained the procedures step by step, kept us up to date on progress, and discussed the whys. They tried to save us money where they could and showed us what was necessary to do. Jake and his crew did a fantastic job, we are extremely happy! Would recommend them and will have them back for 5 year maintenance!

+ -1 moreI cannot say enough about Steve and his son Jake. They are both very professional and extremely knowledgeable. They have a very respectful crew and they work very hard. I had 3 estimates on my house. The first came in at $3000 and said I did not need any extra piers. The second was $5000 and said I had to double up on my piers. Neither of these companies used anything but their eyes and they said they could tell exactly what I needed. Then I found A-One on Angie’s List. I cannot say enough about Steve and his son Jake. They are both very professional and extremely knowledgeable. They have a very respectful crew and they work very hard. Steve came out and used a level to see exactly where my house was off, how much and in which direction. Turns out it was off side to side and front to back. Steve recommended adding 14 piers and adjusting the rest to ensure proper weight distribution. We also had a rotting floor in our laundry room we had Jake cut out and repair. I asked Jake to look at my old wood shed to see if he could level it. Instead of saying yes, putting a little work into it and taking my money, he said it was too far go to level and it would be better to replace than repair. Top notch. I highly recommend. Very much worth the price I paid.

Description of Work: Jake Hunold and the guys from A-One House Leveling, did a great job on my 62 year old house. The work first consisted of moving a lot of things from in my old garage before we could even start the repairs. Then they replaced about 2/3's of the beams and sills throughout the house and a large amount of floor joists, both layers of my kitchen floor (subfloor and finish floor). Next, they removed some exterior doors and created a beam and sill around the original attached garage and replaced all the floor joists raising the new floor to match the rest of the house (it had been turned into a room with a drop floor and it was done incorrectly by previous owners). Lastly, they replaced the majority of pads and leveled everything. They explained everything they were doing throughout the entire process and Jake even fixed some plumbing issues, free of charge. They made me aware of (and with my permission) replaced a lot more than the original scope of work called for and did it for a very fair/reasonable renegotiated price. My old house clearly needed some serious attention and they came in and got it done. The weather was very uncooperative but they hung in there! The process was really neat to watch as well. After a conversation I had with a curious neighbor and her clearly being able to see the quality of work, her and her husband hired them on the spot to level their house as well. I could not be happier with the people and services of A-One House Leveling thus far. All of guys were very respectful and courteous, trustworthy and over-all very good people. I give them a thumbs up and will use them again in the very near future to raise my house about 24". Good job guys, I appreciate it.

+ -1 moreTheir work was very incomplete and unsatisfactory. When they came back to fix their errors, we had to buy more materials to supply them.
Description of Work: They tried to level my house. When they came to level my house, I was expecting to have cinder blocks placed underneath the house where the old piers, which were 120 yrs old. They then shimmied my old piers which are made of bricks. There was no mortar in one, most of the other are crumbling. They shimmied them instead of putting cinder blocks next to them. They then cut a beam under my house and left it hanging. Now I have a soft spot in my floor. My home is still un-level. My walls in one room are cracked and the ceiling is falling in. They said that if they broke anything in the house they would not replace it. They had to come back out, they replaced a beam on the back side of my house, and left about a two inch gap in my washroom. It was unlevel, they had to come back out and put a beam in and jack up where the floor meets the wall. There was also a corner pier that left a gap inside, underneath the pier, it was replaced by a cinder block. There was a gap under the cinder block, they came back and cut a piece of wood to patch the gap.

Description of Work: A-1 leveled a 2000 sq ft 105 year old home. They leveled the house in 3 days and explained how and why they did what they did. I would use them again without hesitation. They came back and made some adjustments to the work later. Very satisfactory!

+ -1 moreSteve Hunold came out when expected. Look the house over inside and outside. We agreed upon a price and he said that his son Jake would be out the next day to start. Jake showed up when expected, was very professional and polite. Jake is the 3rd generation in this business and was very knowledgeable in what he does. Explained every step as they did it. I so pleased with his work that I had him give me a bid on my mothers rent house and signed contract same day.. Would highly recommend to anyone who asks
