24 HOUR FITNESS

They have all the equipment and they also have a variety of classes. There is also staff to assist you with anything. Everyone is very helpful and very friendly. I have been their member for years.

I use several different 24 hour fitness centers. They are functional and clean. They are comparable, with different facilities being better than others. 24 has the benefit of allowing you to plug your headphones into a unit on the cardio equipment to listen to the TVs. I like this because I usually have my Ipod with me, but no radio to tune to a certain station. Whenever I have to deal with their corporate office (such as annual renewal) there seems to be continuous problems. They never seem to get it right on the first try. For example, I renewed last year for myself and my husband. They accidentally charge me twice. After I saw the charge on my credit card, I called. They then gave me the option of a refund or to let that cover the next year as well. We decided to pay for the two years. Lo and behold, this year, we received a bill. When I called they said that it hadn't been applied and that they would take care of it. Well a couple of weeks later, the gym said that our membership had expired. They hadn't applied it! It took 3 more phone calls to have it taken care of. Using the gym is fine and no problems, billing is another issues altogether.

I enjoy being a member of 24 Hour Fitness, because there are no screaming kids underfoot. I looked at a nearby YMCA and felt like I was at a school. Not for me. But, 24 Hour has had problems, like too much turnover in Personal Trainers. People quitting, moving, etc. I got handed off to three people after I joined; very disruptive! I'm now doing self-directed workouts. But I did find the Personal Trainers to be helpful, and would recommend that anyone with the funds purchase at least five hours of training. The other patrons seem to be pretty friendly, I've never had any problems sharing equipment with them or anything like that.
